Thank you to everyone for all your kind words and your prayers. I am praying for his wife, too. But I confess that mostly I'm praying he stays away from her unless and until they are both clean. Tonight I'm taking him information on a job at the County Dump--weighing loads, inspecting materials, collecting fees. He has always been a person who has to be BUSY. So hopefully he will get a full-time job soon.

Yes, keep him busy & AWAY from people who use. That's vital.

Does your daughter-in-law have her own family?

I just finished shovelling the 8" of snow we got today. I shovelled it on top of the pile generated by the 6" of snow I shovelled on SUNDAY morning. And the probs call for 12" more by THURS morning. The record for one day is about 36". Do you get much snow where you live?

Depends on the year, I guess. We got a couple of inches last night and an inch here and there but we normally don't get anything major. We usually get hit with the freezing rain and ice. I live in Illinois. That is definitely a lot of snow though.

I wanna come live in Canada. We have channels here that show LOCI but one is our FOX affiliate and it shows LOCI once a day during the week but it is the same episode that USA shows at 3 in the morning. So my FOX station is useless and USA has cut back on episodes and NBC is once a week which leaves Bravo. I feel so deprived and I have DirecTV too.

I have the same TV Woes with LOCI. Except I have cable. Why has USA cut back?

I have no idea but it seems they are showing more SVU instead of CI and SVU is fine but I have seen those episodes so many times I know them forwards, backwards, sideways and upside down and personally I am getting off the SVU wagon train and I want on the CI train. I only watch the new SVU episodes and that's it. The CI, I am addicted to, maybe because I have so many I haven't seen yet.

Some of us don't have cable or recording ability. So ya, I'm planning on buying the DVD's...eventualy. I figure being able to watch when I want and all I want of LOCI is worth the cost.
Also, you might have noticed CTV isn't all that reliable in airing LOCI. dry.gif

Tell me about it. I'm still waiting for them to air Senseless. Luckily, Access here in Alberta has weekday showings of seasons 1-5. That's why I was able to watch them all during the summer. Oh, and cifan70, here in Calgary we don't have nearly as much snow as rural Ontario. Chinooks are so great. When I was in Edmonton this Christmas, a friend of mine was complaining at the 4" of snow, calling it a snowdrift. IMO, a snowdrift is taller then you are, and something you can climb. smile.gif

So sorry to hear about the drug deaths. HL was just four years older then me, which is very sad. Ciaddict, I think you are doing the right thing by giving your son a chance at a job. I hope and pray that things work out for him and his wife.

Yeah 4" isn't much for us either. We start worrying when it hits 6" or more. The roads really get bad to drive on. And you're right IMO also a snowdrift is taller than you or I and we would have to be able to climb it, definitely.

Oh my goodness! I'm at my mother's and she was watching SVU. It ended and LOCI came on and she picked up the remote to change the channel if it turned out to be a Goren episode (he gives her the creeps--go figure!). As soon as it showed the guy in the car and the prostitute coming on to him, I knew it was Watch and told Mom, "Oh this is a Logan episode". She put down the remote and laughed that I knew the episode from that brief look. Yes, my life is sad! laugh.gif

Hey all! That's so awful about Heath Ledger. I loved him in the Patriot with Mel Gibson. It seems these young stars get into some kind of turmoil. Look at Britney Spears, I'm afraid she's might be next, God forbid. sad.gif One more thing, Mr. Phil needs to leave these people alone! IMO!

My full time job is in Parish Outreach. Every day I see people who are addicted to drugs & alcohol. It is so tough to get & stay clean. Actually starting the process of not using is half the battle. I pray he stays strong & focused. He has his family in his corner, that's a tremendous help.

I hope his wife draws strength from his decision & gets help too.

They seem to show the SAME SVU eps OVER & OVER. The other night they actually showed a season one epi. I know this, because I had just watched it on Friday since I'm getting the SVU DVDs from Netflix.

Dr Phil is a quack. One completely tasteless, politically incorrect, yet hilarious podcast I listen to has a running thing of saying "Britney is still alive today," every couple of days. When the host remembers... She's really headed towards the end of the line fast. I hope she's able to find some REAL help sometime very soon.

Same way you got your image in your sig. Pop your desired picture into Photobucket and use the [IMG] tagged one to Post Your Picture! Whatever that may be.

I don't know if the far left Goren dance came from here, but I know the one on the right did.

JRyan - I'm holding good thoughts about your cat. I can just imagine your dog defending Tiger, just like a brother. Maybe he can pick on tiger, but heaven help the outsider who tries it.

A while back I spilled my guts on the Frank's Fate thread about my son being a meth addict. So I just wanted to let you know that he has been clean for 6 days, left his wife (she is still using), and moved in with his older brother and sister-in-law. My daughter-in-law says he has been sleeping A LOT since he's been there. He did the same thing after we had an intervention last year. But I saw him last night and he looks good. I know its too soon to celebrate (last time he was clean for 6 months), but at the same time I think every day he doesn't use is worth celebrating. I'm praying that he gets back into meetings soon and stays with it.

Prayers up for you, your son and your family, ciaddict.

Everyone in my office is in a lather today. I had a Fair Hearing scheduled yesterday afternoon--I decreased a client's hours when I did his yearly review. Its a pretty simple procedure--and Administrative Law Judge hears from the client why he/she thinks we were wrong, we tell why we did what we did, then in about 30 days we get a decision. Sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. But I got there yesterday with the social worker who is our Fair Hearings Officer. We got there 5 minutes before the hearing was scheduled (actually, I looked and by the clock in the room where the hearing was being held, we were 10 minutes early)--and the judge was ushering the client out. He told us they had finished the hearing! The Fair Hearings Officer pointed out that he didn't even have our position statement and he said that was noted in the record. He said he had 3 hearings scheduled for that time and the client had been there for an hour. I've been working in this program for 7 years and have had a few Fair Hearings, but I've never heard of anything like this! And neither has our Fair Hearings Officer. If the decision is in the client's favor (and I assume it will be, since the judge never even heard the reasons for the decrease in hours), she can file an appeal. But this is just too wierd. As word gets around the office, the other workers are flabbergasted! This is one decision I can't wait to read! He has 30 days to make his decision--it will be hard to wait.

OK - I have a question and wasn't sure where to post it. So here goes - when you folks do your photoshop artwork and it's posted here, does it automatically become 'public domain'? My reason for asking is - I was over at msn.com looking for pictures of guess who - and Lozzie's pirate pic of Goren and Eames is on msn for the world to see, along with a couple other pics I've seen but they could have already been there and just got photobucketed to here.

Just wondering how that works since I don't want my JanxAngel collage to wind up in the wrong hands! blink.gif

Technically, we're all horrible lawbreakers... We should be getting permission for each and every image we use. No one is ever really going to enforce that as long as we're not using it for profit or commiting libel/slander. So, as the lawless free for all of image posting goes: If you post it, it's fair game. Now in the way of the Great Internet Social Contract, the unofficial, unwritten rules that try to keep this a sane and mostly civil place, it's considered quite in bad form for people to take credit for other people's work. They can post it where ever they'd like, and as long as they're at the very least not claiming it's their own work, but not giving credit, no one will give them much in the way of frowny faces.

If you DO find someone claiming yours or someone else's work as their own, heads up the creator (if it's not you) and the poster, telling them you suspect it belongs to someone else and asking for any kind of proof of creation. That kind of thing WILL get around to people. Especially if they can't prove it's their work and you and your friends tell the world. State facts and not personal attacks to maintain your own credibility.
