3.Aren't you the guy from the Village People?
4. Hey, you must've been doin' about 125 mph to keep up with me. Good job!

5. Are You Andy or Barney?
6. I thought you had to be in relatively good physical condition to be a police officer.

7. You're not gonna check the trunk, are you?

8. I pay your salary!
9. Gee, officer! That's terrific. The last officer only gave me a warning, too!

11. I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there are no other cars around. That's how far ahead of me they are.
12. When the Officer says 'Gee. Your eyes look red, have you been drinking?' You probably shouldn't respond with,'Gee Officer your eyes look glazed, have you been eating doughnuts?

Hi

I'm not sure where to post this so I'll try here. My sister is trying to register (has been for a few weeks actually) but is not getting a response from Admin. We just e-mailed admin with a question about the delay but - my question is - we share a computer since she doesn't have one and I'll let her use my laptop when she needs to. Is that why admin isn't sending her the registration info? Do they somehow recognize a computer and think someone's trying to register twice? Honestly this isn't the case - but has anyone else had this problem?

I know Valley and Laz were on at the same time one night so were they both able to use the same computer or were they on two separate? (Valley - can you help me?)

Thanks folks,

Judyg

What email address is she using? I tried to make an account here usng my aol email address, but I never got a response, so I ended up using yahoo.com {That's why my screen name is Daisie2, and not Daisie}
I've noticed that on some forums/websites, if you have aol you will never get an email from the website/forum. I don't know why it is though. and it doesn't show up in spam either.

Thanks Daisie - that could be the problem. She has two e-mail addresses and they're BOTH aol. I'll have to see if one of her kids has an address she can use. She even e-mailed admin but of course the response would've gone to AOL which obviously doesn't work.

I've already got the hammer out - I won't need the chisel! My sister's worse on computers than I am so this is a Laurel and Hardy production. Daisie said for some reason AOL addresses don't work and that's what she has so I'll have to get her set up with a yahoo address. Might not be a good idea, though. When she sees what I'm up to in here I may wind up in the psych ward. tongue.gif

Trust me, Sis - you're much more fun - she just wants to see what's taking up so much of my time. She wasn't even sure who VDO was until I made her watch LOCI one night. I doubt she'll ever post (though I may get her to vote in the ship/no ship thread- with my luck she'll vote ship!). I may need to rethink the whole thing - it could turn against me. blink.gif

I went to see that movie Cloverfield. I really liked it. I thought that it was a great study of how generation Y would deal with a disaster. I hear that there are going to be more movies from different perspectives of people in NYC the night the stuff happened.

I think that it is a good movie to see, especially if you are under 30 years old. I recomend that if you're prone to motion sickness, sit in the back of the theatre and/or take motion sickness medicine b/c the camera work is very shaky most of the time in the movie.

I think that I might go to see it again. (I rarely double dip on movies)

yes and no.

there was one big thing that you saw, and you get one really good shot of it.

It also has other little things that spawn that nyou get to see too.

What I mean by yes and no si that you see it only in passing many times. Its different than what I would have expected out of that kind of thing.

Its not like king kong or Godzilla where the monster is the star of the movie by any means. You see it, but its not an epic typed thing. Its like "holy crap there's the monster" and everytime you see it, you want to get away from it. Its more like Signs in that way.

interesting...i remember seeing one of the previews at the movie. the scene i remember took place it what seemed like a medical tent and i saw the monster attacking someone. it was one of the smaller ones i guess, and to me it looked like a gaint hamster. hehe

but the movie signs creeped me out for seen but not seen aliens. its a didnt kind of fear than what other normal horror movie gives us. now i might check this movie out... ^__^()

that hamster looking thing was an anomoly. Don't let it fool you. Like I said, you see the monster several times, but you don't want to. I think that it is totally different than any other movie. Signs is the only one that even comes close to it in comparison. At least in movies that I've seen.

Cloverfield is a different kind of movie. I think that some people will like it, and others will think that it is terrible. I went to see it with six other people. I think that only half of us liked it. The reaction in the theater was mixed, too. When you see it, you'll know why.

good to know. but the biggest factor for me this the way its filmed. i dont get motion sickness, but the fact that the camera is jumping around everywhere makes it hard for me to stay interested. i think im going to check out some movies reviews ^__^()

that's one part of the movie that was hard to deal with. There were sometimes when I wanted to see what was going on all around. There were also a few times where I could feel myself getting a headache. One of my friends had to leave the theatre because he was feeling so bad.

I think the USS NoRomo may be sailing to twilight isle if Captain JRyan approves the course change. It's nice and warm there. And we can visit anyone still on the Clipper if she's moored there.

Where are you, Captain?

Yes, Eli Manning is still the main quarterback for the NY Giants. He wasn't doing too well in the beginning of the season, so now its ironic that he's in the game today & his bro Peyton is watching.

But it's all good. They support each other & Peyton is happy for his little brother biggrin.gif

Got home after work that day and turned the telly on and it was the first thing I saw. I was waiting for the newsreader to tell me how many fatalities there were and then foudn out that there were none!!! AMAZING. mmmm, he words "frying pan" and "fire" come to mind.... trust me and icy patches do not go together. Last time I did some ice skating was over 20 years ago. I will leave the walking on water to the more qualified.

REAL LIFE SUCKS! AND TEENAGERS SUCK!!!

Sorry, Valley, I didn't mean you. You're at the tail end of your teens anyway. I guess what I should have said is that one particular defiant 15 y/o who happens to live in my home SUCKS! I don't know whose bright idea it was to invent teenagers, but it sucks. At least there is some good news--I've survived 3 teens already, surely I can survive one more. Its a good thing she's the last one. The teen years seem to get exponentially more difficult with each one. And I'm getting old FAST. And the other good news is that today we switch roles and she gets to stay home all day and clean the apartment from top to bottom and I get to hang out with my friends. So now that I've vented, I'll go catch up on what has been happening since Thursday. Maybe in my mood I should stay away from the strike thread--it wasn't a very happy place when I left it Thursday.

Yep, maybe skating on "water" would have been a better description for me to use. wink.gif

I definitely hear you and agree with you. I have a 16 y/o (17 in a couple of months) and she has an attitude that I absolutely can't stand. We butt heads quite a bit about her job 99% of the time. She hates it and wants to quit and look for another one. She doesn't understand the "real world". Have to have another job in order to quit the one you have. She cannot grasp that concept. She has car insurance to pay and if she doesn't pay it she won't have a car because I will yank it out from under her nose. Then when she gets out of her teen years, my son will reach his teen years. God what I have to look forward to. Thanks goodness he is the last.
