so its the second day of my last semester. Yesterday was pretty cool. I didn't have class until 10. I have two classes total in the same room with the same prof. the dud is pretty easy going, and the classes are easy. Definitely what I need going right now.

I have a lower level philosophy class that I'm taking. It seems like its not going to be that difficult.

I am also taking a creative writing class for short stories. I was thinking that perhaps it would be kind of an easy class but no. It wont' be hard per se, just a lot of work.

I'm off to my Apocylypses class in a few min. It is an upper division religious studies class. I'm sure that this class is going to such. Religious studies professors are all about assigning a crap-load of readings. I'm sure that this prof is going to be like, "Read fifty pages of this text by Thursday. I don't care if you have any other work: YOU MUST SUFFAR!

Congrats on being on your last semester. It seems like I am never going to be done!

Your creative writing class sounds really interesting. I keep trying to get in one but the seats fill up so fast and TPTB haven't gotten in through their skulls that they may want to schedule another section. Oh well. Maybe next semester.

Sorry to hear about the task master professors. I swear some of them just like making students squirm and suffer, for kicks and giggles.

It's my last semester too! Well, of undergrad...we've been back a week already. I too have classes later in the day this time around and I'm finding that works with my schedule a lot better than the 7:30am labs I always used to get. Granted, I haven't started working yet, but labs tend to let you design your own schedule wink.gif.

DefenderOfMen, I wish you luck in getting into a creative writing class next semester!

It is COLD and FOGGY here in the San Joaquin Valley. It was cold and foggy when I came to work, and the fog never lifted all day. Now we have to drive home in it. blink.gif

There are a lot of people who were once quite active at one point on this board (GF,YF,OF,Fabi, Choco, etc) whose voices we havve not heard in a while. What's happened.

I just finished my final class for my Advanced Diploma. Now ... I have to do the written work and the project work ~gulp~

Today is the fist day it hasn't rained in two weeks, here in southern UK

for the drumming diploma? That is really great! But writing papers is a nightmare smile.gif

I'll send you some of our sunny days up, we are so spoiled, it's way too warm and we get sunsets like this every evening (this one is from today). Global warming scares me.

I saw the headline on MSN that he had died but didn't get a chance to see what happened. It's sad to lose anyone at such a young age but I know he's had a long battle with drugs. I remember him in the movie "The Client" with Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon. He was a talented young man.

Yes, I thought he was excellent in "The Client." There was a great chemistry berween him & Sarandon.

They say he was only 25 years old. I thought he looked much older when "Watch" aired, and that was two years ago, so he was only 23. sad.gif

Yes, he was in The Client and I thought he had a great career ahead of him, but then the rumors started about his drug use and he just seemed to fade from the radar.

My brain just fell out. It's weird to think of her as anyone but Nicole. She has quite the voice.

EDIT: Oh! And I totally forgot to post about Amends, which I saw for the very first time last week. (I didn't really want to dig up the old thread so I thought I'd post here.) I thought it was amazing. A love the scene with Bobby and Eames where she finds out he has gotten Joe's case file. It's so great!

Wasn't a secret, doc told me have weight loss surgery or Die in a year, so I did, I was on duragesic patches and percocet, for my fibromyalgia, I was sleeping most of my life away due to the pain and pain killers, I was on two diabetic meds, cholestrol meds, anxiety meds, meds for sleep, toprol to help protect my heart, Meds for ostoarthitisis, bursitis, I was always pulling muscles in my back,

Now, Knock on wood, haven't pulled a muscle in my back in a while, so no longer on muscle relaxers, Off diabetic meds, its all controlled by diet, Cholestrol is in the 90s since my body doesn't absorb hardly in fats, no more cholestrol meds, I am off all pain meds, my pain is manageable on its on, with exercise and stretching, I am off anxiety meds, I take tylenol PM for nighttime pain and sleep, Doctor just started weening me off the toprol, My cardiac cath, is clear, no blockage, so I asked him why I was on it, my B/P is 100/70, so he said, well lets take you off of it. So I used to be on like 15 meds, now I am down to just 3, My migrain meds, thyroid, and I am still on anti-depressants. Plus due to the surgery I need to take a Multi Vitamin, Vitamin A&D, Iron( till Menopause) and Calcuim Three times a day, which Iron and Calcuim has to be timed so many hours apart but you get used to it. Cause the surgery does interfer with your body absortbtion of the vitamins, oh and also B12, since I am a nurse I just give my self a shot once a month, or you can take the pills daily. At first they check your vitamin levels every few months then you go once a year, its been 1 1/2 yrs since my surgery, I am hoping when I go on the 25th this month I will convert to the yearly check up, I live 1.5 hours from my surgeon in Lafayette, but she is great, I had no complications, except withdrawals from my pain killers after surgery. But no infections, no vomiting. My weightloss has slowed down, but that is expected, I hope to lose another 60 lbs, then get a body lift. But I never regret what I did, I feel like I have a life again, I can buy clothes in a store. I feel people look at me not because I am 400 lbs. I get looks from Men again, wink.gif . And that feels nice. Maybe thats why my hubby is so jealous.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement.

blog Here is a blog I had started and then stopped, last sept, I never shared it with anyone, Now I can't continue it cause I lost the password, and the email I used to sign it up no longer exsist, but it explains the surgery if your interested, and shows pictures as I lost the weight.

Well good to hear the surgery worked so well for you. I have heard so many sides to it, good and bad. Hubby's doctor is against the surgery and won't support him having it and hubby and I are both scared for him to actually have it. Plus my health insurance (whom I actually work for) has to have all kinds of medical records 10 feet thick (not really but it seems like it) in order for them to pay for it. Hubby has sleep apnea, high cholestorol, high blood pressure, arthritis in the knees and spine, busted discs in his spine which is the reason he is disabled. He can't sit or stand for long periods of time which means jobs are scarce for work like that. He has been to surgeons about his back and there are surgeons that will operate to get the pieces of discs out of his vertebrae but 1 wrong move and he is paralyzed. I don't want that risk and neither does hubby. A lot of his issues are controlled by meds and doctor told him to cut back on what he eats which he has and he goes to local YMCA and does water aerobics which is about the only excercise he can do at this time. Maybe as he loses more weight, he will be able to do more as in walking and such but with the back it is so hard on him to just walk. He also has heart problems along with everything else so we just keep our fingers crossed and hope that he keeps losing weight. It may take a while but anytime I see people losing weight, I just have to ask how it was done. Again congrats to you.

Hi

I'm not sure where to post this so I'll try here. My sister is trying to register (has been for a few weeks actually) but is not getting a response from Admin. We just e-mailed admin with a question about the delay but - my question is - we share a computer since she doesn't have one and I'll let her use my laptop when she needs to. Is that why admin isn't sending her the registration info? Do they somehow recognize a computer and think someone's trying to register twice? Honestly this isn't the case - but has anyone else had this problem?

I know Valley and Laz were on at the same time one night so were they both able to use the same computer or were they on two separate? (Valley - can you help me?)

Thanks folks,

Judyg

Registering on the same computer might be a problem. Once you're registered two people can share and it won't matter. Usually it goes by email address, but sometimes they log IPs as well.

See Janx, I can always count on you. That's what I thought. I'll wait to see if she gets a response from admin and see what can be done. She won't be on a lot, she just wants to see why I'm so involved over here (I think she wants to have me committed). laugh.gif
