Jryan, congrats. What is your secret? My hubby needs to lost about 150 pounds and he is trying so hard to do it. He has lost about 40 so far but now it is slow going, a couple here and a couple there, nothing major. We are at a loss at what to do now.
Wasn't a secret, doc told me have weight loss surgery or Die in a year, so I did, I was on duragesic patches and percocet, for my fibromyalgia, I was sleeping most of my life away due to the pain and pain killers, I was on two diabetic meds, cholestrol meds, anxiety meds, meds for sleep, toprol to help protect my heart, Meds for ostoarthitisis, bursitis, I was always pulling muscles in my back,
Now, Knock on wood, haven't pulled a muscle in my back in a while, so no longer on muscle relaxers, Off diabetic meds, its all controlled by diet, Cholestrol is in the 90s since my body doesn't absorb hardly in fats, no more cholestrol meds, I am off all pain meds, my pain is manageable on its on, with exercise and stretching, I am off anxiety meds, I take tylenol PM for nighttime pain and sleep, Doctor just started weening me off the toprol, My cardiac cath, is clear, no blockage, so I asked him why I was on it, my B/P is 100/70, so he said, well lets take you off of it. So I used to be on like 15 meds, now I am down to just 3, My migrain meds, thyroid, and I am still on anti-depressants. Plus due to the surgery I need to take a Multi Vitamin, Vitamin A&D, Iron( till Menopause) and Calcuim Three times a day, which Iron and Calcuim has to be timed so many hours apart but you get used to it. Cause the surgery does interfer with your body absortbtion of the vitamins, oh and also B12, since I am a nurse I just give my self a shot once a month, or you can take the pills daily. At first they check your vitamin levels every few months then you go once a year, its been 1 1/2 yrs since my surgery, I am hoping when I go on the 25th this month I will convert to the yearly check up, I live 1.5 hours from my surgeon in Lafayette, but she is great, I had no complications, except withdrawals from my pain killers after surgery. But no infections, no vomiting. My weightloss has slowed down, but that is expected, I hope to lose another 60 lbs, then get a body lift. But I never regret what I did, I feel like I have a life again, I can buy clothes in a store. I feel people look at me not because I am 400 lbs. I get looks from Men again,

. And that feels nice. Maybe thats why my hubby is so jealous.
Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement.
blog Here is a blog I had started and then stopped, last sept, I never shared it with anyone, Now I can't continue it cause I lost the password, and the email I used to sign it up no longer exsist, but it explains the surgery if your interested, and shows pictures as I lost the weight.
