I need help. The rumor floating around my workplace is that our plant has been or will be sold soon. While sitting on my butt for a few weeks or months collecting unemployment sounds tempting, it is not really a financial option for my family (My husband wants to [i][i] keep eating and living indoors. DIVA!!!!), so I'm busy filling out apps and sending out resumes. The one app is asking for my greatest weakness and strengths. I need a few that don't sound completely canned. It is also asking why I want to work for them. I'm guessing that the truth (I need to pay rent and I don't look that good in a halter top and a mini skirt, so your company is kind of my plan cool.gif isn't quite going to work. Thoughts, suggestions, etc.

Depends on what type of job your applying for? I usually make my strengths fit the job, and Make my weaknesses not affect the job.

Does anyone know if there are VDO calendars anywhere?

I made one at a kodak site. They had a $30 off coupon code, so all I paid was $4.99 shipping.

It has a pic on the cover and a different pic for each month. How to choose? wink.gif

Dangit, the coupon code may be expired now. If it works, the code is KFHX-NYCWSIMV. It worked for me today. They do have 20% off, too, and they're normally $19.99.

Calendars are here:

Sorry to hear L&OCI didn't get a nomination for a golden globe award. I heard the nominees on the early show this morning. There's next year! I was glad that Holly Hunter was nominated for best actress in Saving Grace, my next favorite show, but L&OCI is number one to me! FYI for you guys. K wink.gif

I see House and Hugh Laurie (sp?) got a couple nominations.

Oh my daughter had her last class with the Homebound teacher today, she has passed English so she is finished with School and will graduate, She won't be walking across stage due to her social anxiety, but so glad after 5 year of her social isolation, and having to be taught by the school at home, that she is finally finished and will have her diploma, this is a big milestone for us. Still waiting to her From social security and then will see about maybe getting her some type of part time job. I know due to her anxiety problem she won't be able to hold down a full time job with lots of people involved but I am hoping to find something that isn't stressful and doesn't require lots of interaction. Maybe after the holidays have passed and things cool down. I am just glad this milestone is complete.

I like House - it's one of the three shows I always watch, with SVU and CI being the other two.

But Hugh isn't any more talented than VDO, in my humble opinion. Nor is his character any more deserving of its actor getting a Golden Globe or Emmy nod. Just mho.

I love the carver cat Janx.

I started playing The Sims 2 (a way to reinforce myself on the short breaks that I would take from studying). I have Bobby and Alex (who are not dating, although Bobby did start randomly making out with her one time...it was weird) I also have Ross and Rodgers married. Bobby is working as a cop.
I also had myself in the game living between mike and Bobby. Mike and I ended up dating, getting married and adopting a kid (named Benjamin) and having three of our own (one boy named Judah, and twins: a boy named Levi and a girl named Leah). Things got pretty crazy, and I ended up deleting us (although our two oldest boys are still at college. I haven't deciding whether I want to delete them or not).

Its pretty sweet. I'll have to post screen caps of my happy family. smile.gif

LOL this is such a great game, isn't it. Although in my version Bobby and Alex are married, Bobby is also a cop but Alex is pregnant all the time and barely goes to work. Do you know a way that Bobby can get me pregnant without Alex finding out? When she's at work maybe?

I'll be working on the sequel to the colour and the shape (in fanfic section). I have a little bit written, but not ready to post. I'm off of school for a month, and my time is ging to be divided between working on church stuff, playing the sims, FF7, getting my DVR set up, staying up late, slacking, watching LOCI, message board, and writing on my fic.

Right now I'm trying to get into that fic writing place where the characters start telling me their stories. .

So excited! Can't wait!

My break is going to be filled with similar pursuits but with a lot more slacking. I'm going to Belgium to visit my father, who is a librarian at a school on a base there. I'm really excited but I'm not sure if I'll have any computer access, so I might disappear from the boards for a while.

Belgium, that's pretty awsome. That's on my list of places that I want to go. I've been toying with the idea of going on a missions trip to Great Britain. I would be a missonary if I didn't like young people so much.

I really want to go to London Again. I was there for a week at the end of 2005 and for new years 2006, but I was sick most of the time. I probably should have gone to the hospital (my chest was so congested that I couldn't breathe), but I don't have medical insurance that is any good outside of my college, and I was afraid that my mom and husband would have to pay a bunch of money (not to mention that the emergency room waiting was more than six hours). I spent the time that we were in Oxford in a Burger King with my nose and mouth inside of a cup of steaming tea. I spent the rest of the day at Strafford-Upon-Avon with my nose and mouth in a cup of hot water, and the rest of the week eating Subway and McDonalds in the hotel room. I did get a chance to see london before I got sick. I got some great pics.

That's horrible that you were sick in London and sorta scary. I usually manage to get sick on trips during Christmas since it's right after finals and my immune system is shot from not sleeping and being around tons of sick people in class. I'm glad you got to have some fun in London though.

He's a civilian attached to the military. We used to live in Japan before I started college. I went to high school on a military base. Before he joined DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity), he was a junior high librarian stateside. It's neat to say "my dad lives in Belgium" but I only get to see him every year or so.

That's pretty spiffy. My dad is retired Air Force, but the only place that I had to live was new mexico. He was stationed in Ankara, Turkey before and during the Persian Gulf war, but that was it.

My husband didn't know that sharks don't have scales. He's acutally very intellegent, but he didn't know that. I was explaining to him what a stress positon was (I mentioned the episode name and he didn't know what it was. I think that he may have thought that it was something sexual) and I told him that I learned what it was from LOCI and that I also learned that sharks don't have scales. He was like,"yes they do." So I had to explain tha they in fact do not.

I really liked Japan and I miss it sometimes, though I'm glad to see snow again since we were in the south, where it never snows. I really miss my dad and e-mail just doesn't cut it sometimes, ya know? So I'm gonna have the very best time I can with my dad.

I LOVE the Sims 2. I have almost all the expansions. I'm missing Vacation. I made a family for Gordon Freeman... I'm a sad cheese. But his parents are way cool. Back in the Sims 1 days I had Millie and Wolfwood (from Trigun) living together as a couple. Their 3rd housemate was Sephiroth. It was hilarious. He was their house-bi... err keeper.

There's a bunch of named songs in Sims 2. I remember when I first heard "Too Shy" come on the radio and it was all in Simlish. And then there was "Suffer Well". Good stuff. You can load your songs and videos into the game too, but they won't be in simlish.

I also like that you don't have to use the "hack" to put in custom art anymore. Makes it so much simpler to get my Hellsing, Alita, Ouran, Final Fantasy, and other anime pics into their homes.

I have so much custom stuff I've downloaded that I need to load into my game... Oh god, that's right my HD crashed... I have to reload EVERYTHING... Good thing I managed to make a copy of my saved files before it died.

I had to go to the Doctor yesterday for what turns out to bacterial pneumonia. Well, the Dr. hands me a puffer and asks me if I had ever used one before, to which I said no. Then he asks if I had ever seen one used before and I replied, "Well actually, Bobby Goren.." and my husband gave me the death look and cut me off mid-sentence. I'm glad I paid such close attention to that scene.

ROFL Criminal Intent is very educational!

I used a inhaler for a day and half for a chest cold but I had to stop taking it because it made me jittery. I'm sorry you have pneumonia. I hope you get well soon!

Your husband doesn't get it I guess.

Thanks for the tip on the Simlish. I wondered about it.

The Logan family has welcomed their second child, Jacob into the world.

I had a dream that I was married to mikey and we were in the sims, so I guess that it was like the sims game that I'm playing.

I should be working on getting Dagni her 5k gold for epic flying.

I should be working on leveling Najiah, or Baradamia, climbing that ladder to 70.

But I really want to get my Sims running again now... dry.gif

I should be getting ready to go to a wedding. But no. I'm on the boards and scheduling recordings of Law and Order and CI as well as SATC (mr. big eps). I should be workign on a vid project, but no.

So I didn't set up my Sims. But I didn't level my characters either. Except for my Blood Elf Paladin, Radetsu. He went from 9 to 13, and collected 150 small eggs.

Dagni earlier collected 130 small eggs.

Why are small eggs so important?

Because the winter holiday event, The Feast of Winter Veil, started today. Eggs are used to make egg nog and gingerbread cookies. The cookies are used in a quest. Eggs will sell from 7-10 gold pieces for a stack of 10. World of Warcraft uses a silver based economy, so a gold is like a $50 bill.

Radetsu is part of the Horde side and as such the rest of my characters can't give him any stuff since they're all Alliance people. So it was really nice that I was able to get so many with that character today and give him a jump start on all the money he'll need for future training and getting a mount at lvl 40.

Now I'm going to eat and load my Sims before the party.

My husband is playing Warcraft III right now. I was in the bathroom a few days ago and I kept on hearing hsi omputer talking and I was like what are you playing and he was like Warcraft, and I was like no you're not and then he was like NOT WoW, Warcraft III. It was pretty special...and then I found $5.

We have four kids (really six b/c two are at college, but really we have 8, but the other two don't exist anymore and I think that I'm going to delete the ones who are at college, so that we will have started all over again)
