When the 4400 started, I was hesitant. In the past I have had shows like "firefly" cancelled with no warning. Shows that I loved, that were great, prematurely replaced by shows that did no better or usually worse.
Recently shows that I had become endeared to like "Jericho" and "The Class" have also received an unfair axe.
So I have made a habit of catching shows AFTER they have been renewed for at least a second season. Lost, and Heroes, are both great examples of shows I did not watch in the first season. Only after each were renewed for second seasons did I catch up and join the show.
But I took a chance with the 4400. USA had never been a network I had spend much time on, but the show was a great idea, and I was very excited about it. So I hopped onboard with a relatively low commitment 6 episode first season.
I also got sucked into Dead Zone after it.
So now, here we are 4 years later. Intensely involved in this show, literally 100's of hours in including all of the message boards and re-runs.
And now I hear that there is a possibility that I might not get the whole story? That the "climax" of 4 years worth of watching was a show that could go either way? A "psuedo-finale".
You better be kidding me.
USA, this is in no way a threat.
But if this was the big payoff for 4 seasons worth of investment, I am finished with you.
I, as a loyal viewer, will not be treated 2nd hand to ratings.
If you are going to ask for fans to commit THIS much time to something, you better hold up your end of the commitment and give us a finish worth remembering.
Sincerely,
Patrick
