Hey all

Just saw The Hunting Party for the first time and let me say what a bloody strong ending to Season 5. At the start it did not look promising to be a good episode but as the episode progressed more thing unraveled and it just got stronger and stronger. And the bit where John was sitting on the bench listening to Wolf that was awesome. The things he said about how every one has a part to play in this dooming ending which is Armaggeddon. I guess you can relate that bit back to the time magazine of John at the end of Season 2.

It was just a great episode that pushed the Armaggeddon arc along so far. First we finally understand why Janus wants this Armaggeddon to happen. We see Stillson getting stronger to the point where he might be elected VP and we see the organisation thats Janus is working for thats pushing the Armaggeddon, this was a big moment becuse before it was like one man with a twisted mind wanting the world to come to an end. I just thing it brings it all together.

Now for the big question, (i have not seen Season 6 yet) does the Armaggeddon arc follow on with the same storyline about this organisation or does it follow a totally new direction (yet againe). Becuse i know that Janus dies in the first ep. of Season 6 so does this 'Coalition for a Better America ' organisation die aswell. I hope not becuse even though Janus looked like he was incharge of it all, there were so many other people (that looked like they were high powered aswell) in the room aswell. Not to mention all those militry dudes that also are apart of Armaggeddon and are clued in.

Apart from that i know that all of you were thinking at the start of Season 6 after seeing 'Heritage' that Armaggeddon is all over. Do they reallly revive this arc at the end of the Season. I know on the adds of 'Denouement' it showed the wipe of DC again but it seemed to me that this ep. was dealing with Walts investagation again rather then Armaggeddon. Or were they interlinked with one another. Becuse in The Hunting Party Walt was really getting involved with this investagation of the assanation of the Vice President and the whole thing with Armaggeddon so now i think about it it might be linked. So without giving to much away can you please tell me if they were linked, and if so did they push the Armaggeddon arc along any further like they did in 'The Hunting Party' and also did they leave the arc open to continue with if they make another Season. Or did they wrap the whole Armaggeddon up and if so was it a good conclussion to an ongoing arc.

Thanx

The Coalition for a Better America-CBA-does still exist in s6 but we hear little about it until the end of the season. Walt does begin investigating CBA after the assassination, which leads to the exposure of the season's biggest secret in Denouement. Armageddon does come back as a result of the events in Denouement and is left hanging out there for future resolution. Whether we ever get that resolution is another question entirely. Hope this helps without spoiling too much.

Hunting Party was the only episode in the entirety of S4-5 that really moved anything forward as well as being a great episode. S6 for all its faults really moved along the larger Armageddon arc as well as developing the central characters. Some of the early stand alone episodes were weak (and the first episode was dire) but by mid season it was firing on all cylinders.

"Babble On" and "Vanguard" also fed the arc. "Babble On" was hard for me to put together in terms of the Armageddon arc. Because of the word play "Babble On" it had to feed into it. Now we know how. I had always thought it was something to do with the little girl and the seeming explosion of Armageddon but was in reality the collapse of a building the little girl helped restore a cultural center as grown woman because she was a architect. Herb put John's focus on the girl via the doll. In hindsight now it was a great way for John to find his father and in essence "free" Herb. I wonder if John ever recovers any memories of his father. He keeps saying he has no memory of him or they are all very fuzzy. He wouldn't even look at family pictures with Herb.
