DICK WOLF'S HIT CRIME DRAMA "LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT" PREMIERES IN NATIONAL SYNDICATION ON SEPTEMBER 17

First Hit Off-Network Crime Drama Available To Local Broadcasters as a Monday-Friday Strip in More Than Decade

"Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit" Debuts in Weekend Syndication September 22

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA-September 13, 2007 - Dick Wolf's hit crime drama series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" premieres in national syndication on Monday, September 17. The third installment of the "Law and Order" brand, which is distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, is the first off-network crime drama to be sold to local broadcasters on a weekday basis in more than a decade.

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" is also the first series in the "Law & Oder" franchise to ever enter broadcast syndication five days a week. The series has been sold in more than 95% of the U.S. for its syndication debut.

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution is also bringing "Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit" to syndication this fall. "SVU" will premiere in weekend syndication starting Saturday, September 22.

"For years, I've been reading in the trades how well the "CSI's" do on off-network free TV. I'm delighted that SVU and CI will now have the opportunity to do the same," said Dick Wolf, the emmy award-winning creator and producer of the Law & Order franchise.

"We are excited to bring these high quality, off-network procedural dramas to local broadcasters in national syndication," said Barry Wallach, President of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. "Local stations and advertisers are thrilled about this unique opportunity."

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," takes viewers into the minds of its criminals, while following the psychological approaches the Major Case Squad uses to solve the crimes. Detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and his new partner, Detective Wheeler (Julianne Nicholson), make up the Major Case Squad alongside long-time partners Detectives Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Alexandra Eames (Kathryn Erbe). The two Major Case Squad detective teams split the caseloads week to week. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" is a Wolf Films production in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Wolf, Warren Leight and Peter Jankowski are executive producers.

"Law & Order: SVU" chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York Police Department, the elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes. The drama follows Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), a seasoned veteran of the unit who has seen it all, and his partner, Detective Olivia Benson (Emmy award-winner, Mariska Hargitay), whose difficult past - a child of rape - is the reason she joined the unit. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a Wolf Films production in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Wolf, is creator and executive producer, Neal Baer, Ted Kotcheff and Peter Jankowski are the executive producers. "Law & Order: SVU" returns to NBC for it's ninth season on September 25 at 10/9c.

check your Local listings. Don't notice a change in my area, Still get it almost everyday anyway between USA, Bravo and NBC.

I dug up my local channel listings (cause I never watch them... It's all Discovery/Usa/Bravo/TNT at my house.) and found the station it's playing on. I am a happy cheese indeed.
My roommate wants me to buy my own receiver for the satellite so I'll quit hogging the living room. sad.gif
He just shakes his head at my obsession and laughed when I got all excited about CI being on yet another station. He said he needs to film it and sell it on teh internet. And then my other roomie said that ppl could call in and suggest new ways to mess with me...

Well I have more CI than I could have hoped for, so I'll go sit and watch VDO and be happy, ne?

The first show was called "ONE" and, yep, you guessed it, I recorded it. LOL! This makes NBC, USA, BRAVO and 9 in NY - - can't get enough!!!!

'Law & Order: CI,' 'Jury Duty' Lift Stations in Syndicated Debuts
By Chris Pursell

Two syndicated debuts on Monday helped ease the pain of audience erosion for stations, as the premieres of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and “Jury Duty” both topped year-ago ratings for their outlets.

“Criminal Intent,” distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, bowed in mostly late-fringe time periods in 49 metered markets to open with a 1.2 rating/3 share. That rating is down 20 percent from the show’s lead-in, which often happens in late fringe as audiences go to bed, but up 9 percent in rating from the 1.1/3 time period average of September 2006.

For those of you who live in the Middle TN area, CI is airing on CBS at 1:05 a.m. Central Time. Yes, that's in morning for the night owls like me. For anyone in the Nashville area, it's channel 5 WTVF. I'm happy now. I can have my Bobby fix when I can't sleep. biggrin.gif

So is this why if you check the USA schedule, they can get away with airing CI at 3am, 4am rather than infomercials and old, made-for-tv movies?
bugtussle47
here in bama... channel 68 WBAM airs it at 4pm,, and then USA at 5pm (ofcourse unless it's svu night).. so.. I am in CI heaven!
