Well, let me tell ya, I haven't seen as good a match as that since, LAST night when Blake finally won in 5 sets! Did you just love that 5th set? What a show!!!!
I love Novak and predict him to win the Open, barring injury.

when he's "on", his skills are great to watch, for a relatively inexperienced player. but mostly i love that he seems to have a good personality, interacts with people well, good sense of humor, and brings a sense of "have fun while you're giving it your all" approach to the game. i find him refreshing & always try to watch when he plays (and the 5-set match today was fantastic -- i don't think anyone's serve was broken and some very high quality tennis almost the entire match!!). wish they all could be that enjoyable & that others were able to bring their "A game" to the court so consistently.

Hey Thiz, It was first 2 in tie breaks then the next 2 at 7-5, so there were breaks. There were at least 6 or 8 maybe. I do agree that there has been a lot of injury like Roddick's win yesterday (HELLO, he'll take it). But that Novak match was awesome and I'm all tingly still, I just love him so much.

Djokovic is a winner whether he holds the cup over his head on Sunday or not. Courier was telling Ted that Novak has yet to prove himself that he's not in the same upper bracket with Federer and Nadal. Yet, when a 20 year old upstart can beat Roddick, Nadal, AND Federer...bang, bang, bang, in three straight matches...I'd say he's proved himself. He was like a buzz saw. Federer didn't know what hit him.
The other side to Novak is that none of this goes to his head. He's amusing. There are clips of him on YouTube.com in the lockerroom doing imitations of Sharapova and Nadal...totally hysterical. He may not be at the top in Courier's book, but he is in many tennis fans' minds. GO NOVAK!

Outstanding Tennis : the best match so far at this year's Open.

However, I could not believe the negativity and - at times - the verbal abuse/insults levelled at Novak by Jim Courier.

Who annointed Jim as ' King Maker' ?

He waxed lyrically about the US youngsters Isner and Young while questioning Novak's ability at such a young age.

Jim, we all start somewhere and how old were you when you were winning Grand Slams?
