I find Mary Joe to be a great commentator. She's easy to listen to. She respects the players. She doesn't come off as "little miss know it all" (read Tracy Austin). She doesn't overtalk. She talks about the match. And she knows when to keep quiet.

So my question is: Where are the Producers and what the hell are they doing? Do they never give feedback to these "tennis star commentators?" Because the lot of them just have diharrea of the mouth and ruin it for fans and viewers.

I think quite possibly that some of the alternative commentators mentioned may be contracted to other networks.Maybe Mary Jo will be part of the mix when the coverage switches to CBS.I like her also but find her very monotone & a lot of times it seems as tho she's reading from a script.

Some of these commentators are paid huge by these networks. Tv network don't mind which jack ass is behind the mike. Anyways they get money from advertisers. If only advertisers include another line in its contract on who should comment on the match, we viewers have to live with these foul mouths!

I too like Mary Jo. I generally like ESPN's coverage of women's matches because they know what they are talking about and they don't talk over the match. And the use the 2 people in the booth rule. And one in the stands.

I also like Cliff Drysdale and even Pam Schriever is ok.

Maybe they could use Tracy on USA to do the pre court interviews. That way she could remain employed but only have 30 seconds to talk.

I think Tracy is a terrible announcer because she TALKS TOO MUCH, but I think she is a nice person.

Also, what about Martina announcing?
