Never mind technique and passion-with Shawn, Isabelle's kisses were about sex. With Kyle, it was about love.

I saw passion in the Kyle and Izzy kiss and it was really sweet but I prefer the Shawn and Izzy kiss because it was all about the "I want you factor." I agree with Rock, it was more about sex with Shawn but that was an awesome kiss to me (a little too much tongue Patty but o.k.).

The second part of the Shawn and Izzy kiss could have been a little softer but you can tell they missed each other!I almost cried a little bit the second time I watched the epi.

O.K., I am glad someone brought this up! When he kissed her on the forehead he looked to as if he was going for the lips and when she was in the bed after he had given her the shot he gave her some lusty look as did Matthew Ross when he was possessed by that Marked entity.

It was kinda hot the way he looked at her and interacted with her. Tom and Isabell, the triangle is aout to turn into a octagon!

That would be so disgusting if Tomthew tried anything with Isabelle, but I have to admit he was looking at her in a most improper way, IR. It was like he knows he owns her, body and soul, and he can do anything he wants with her. It gave me the chills. I just hope he doesn't try anything, and I hope even more that Isabelle finds a way to outwit the Marked. She's probably smarter than all of them put together. For the record, I don't think Tomthew showed much imagination or subtlety in the way he killed Trask-I should think a future human who's acting so superior could think of a way to kill someone that didn't involve cracking his own head on the steering wheel.

You are so right Rock, I mean how many times in movies have we seen blood left in the causing vehicle of a deadly accident, it just isn't smart, also I love the Tomthew I was taking a drinkl when I read that and almost spit all over my key board, very funny. Hey Isbellreigns. I just wanted to say to you -- because we are both big fans of Isabelle.

I don't think that Izzy/Shawn's relationship was just about sex, I know a lot of other viewers believe so, but let me tell you why.

Whenever Izzy talks about her past she always always mentions Shawn that lets me know that the writers intended for Shawn to be a big part of Izzy's life. He taught her how to swim, he gave her books, they talked about life, he taught her how to drive hell he was her first. When he was sick he trusted her. He cuddled and talked with her after they made love. So there was diffidently care, at least on her (Izzy) part.

I think where the writers messed up they should have allowed Shawn to have a little more compassion, understanding, and loyalty towards Izzy. They had a great love story for the show but they runied that, so - so much for Shawn/Izzy.

Now I do believe that they have redeemed themselves with Izzy/Kyle. Though the kiss was closed mouths it was still wet and juicy, you could hear it -- Heeeey! Also, the look between the two of them after the kiss was flawless. Another viewer thinks that (Chad Faust) Kyle is incrediably ugly but I think that he is quite handsome, he & Isabelle are adorable, so I hope the show can keep a love story going. I would love to see either one of the realationships soar Izzy/Kyle or Shawn/Izzy.

Also I loved Joel (Tom) and Megalyn (Izzy)working together. Wonderful chemistry. I loved the kiss on the forehead I could just watch that scene over and over again. I thought when she was lying in the bed feeling like she was going to die that he was going to kiss her again!

What makes me sad about all of this -- I fear that they are going to make Isabelle a bad character and I diffidently do not want to see that happen!!

Princess, I agree that Shawn was a big part of Isabelle's life in the past, but the only good part of that was when they were friends. There's no question in my mind that their physical relationship was only sexual. Shawn and Isabelle have both said as much-Shawn said what they had was not love, and Isabelle agreed, no, it wasn't. Can't get much clearer than that.

I totally agree with you about Isabelle and Kyle. What a beautiful and poetic way to put it-let them soar.

O.K., I am lovin' the "Tomthrew" I don't think he will try anything with Isabelle though I agree he did give her that look as if he owned her. He even pointed out that he created her. I hope she does get the leg up on it all and saves the day. I felt so sorry for her pleading for Marked Tom not to give her the shot. She was happy without powers but personally I like her having her powers back b/c I am hoping she will switch up the game 9in a good way).

Yeah, as for the Trask death, I agree again! How unoriginal! Everyone knows that there is a backup generator for those machines even though Diana explained it as the machine gave out b/c the daughter cell phone was jammed. Couldn't she go next door & get someone elses cell? Were all the cells jammed? Maybe so? It just seemed umimaginable for the character of Marked Tom.

The steering wheel was dumb and so was Meghan and Diana discussing Tom at NTAC, the one place where he has the right to be.

Hey princessmia, I am also a huge Isabelle fan. Do you get guff for that too? Anyway just wanted to say I agree wholeheartedly that the writers fouled up. Shaun and Isabelle (contrary to popular opinion) were a great love story. I do believe there was Love in their relationship even if it was just compassion and companionship. Whatever it was I loved it. I will still hold out hope for Shawn and Izzy, I don't like her and Kyle, well I didn't but I have to be honest last night I was very happy to see them reunited but it would have been fine with me if they stopped at the hug.

The opinion that Shawn and Isabelle are NOT a great love story is popular because it's true. I do think they had a great friendship, and I don't see much hope for present day humanity unless Shawn and Isabelle are working on the same side, hopefully with Jordan and a deMarked Tom, and let's get Kyle and Diana and Richard in on the fight too. I think really it is going to come down to present day humanity fighting off the PFTF. The Marked want to kill of the 4400, and the PFTF who created the 4400 want everybody to take promicin, even though half the people will die. Not much to choose from, and I'd especially like to see Isabelle use her powers against the PFTF and throw them back to the future.

Me too. Kyle and Isabelle are beautiful together, like Kevin and Tess. I just hope they get to stay together.

Yes I definately agree with what you said about Isabelle being able to accomplish what she did last season without pursuing shawn, Easy. I too think they forced the relationship and rushed it. And I too don't see anyhting to show for it, except that may be the biggest reason Isabelle wanted to redeem herself, well that and her murdering and scaring the hell out of people. I only have hope because it was hot no matter how rushed or forced, Like you say it was for sex and ratings well I think it worked, considering the people on this board are still talking about it. I have to agree with you sin, I am SOOO loving the Marked Tom. He is deliciously evil and Joel plays the part soo well. I think Issy's chemistry is just a sign of how good of an actress she is because she makes everyone look good! Even Kyle, who I'm not a big fan of. Everytime I see him (Chad), I think of him in the movie "SAVED!" where he plays a gay guy. And I have to say that I busted out laughing when you said you can't compare fruits because to me, Chad looks a lvery fruitty. LOL! But I have to disagree about the kiss. Clearly Shawn (Patrick) and Issy (Megalyn) have way more chemistry. Those two look like they were born to kiss each other- So HOOT! Whereas Kyle and Issy's kiss was sweet, yes, but a little awkward and weird. With that kiss, you're just not sure what their intentions are or how they feel about each other. Yea, they're close, but that kiss could mean anything from you're a great friend, I really missed you to I think I might like you for more than just friends. But Shawn and Issy's kiss meant only one thing: Bow chicka wow wow! Get it girl! Definitely hot stuff and no misinterpretenting what they want or what they were going to do to each other. You knew when the episode was over what they were going to do. But with Kyle's kiss, no soo much. Even in his blog, he says the kiss was great, but they didn't sleep together, hell they didn't even talk much after that.

I think this feeling that is emminating from Tom around Issy goes back to the Season 3 DVD where the actor (can't remember his name) who plays Matthew mentions that he thinks that Matthew is in love with Issy but is too old for her. His "feelings"/ or manner towards Issy just adds to the wonderfully creepiness that is Tomthew. LOVIN' IT! I hope Issy finds a way to fight back and I want her with Shawn not Gyle (gay kyle).

I mean you have several 'wild cards' to play here....the more obvious choice but by no means necessary ,would be Shawn....but the 'third party' of either Tom/evil Tom or even Jordan just anty's up the stakes, you know?

I'll agree that Shawn & Izzy have AMAZING CHEMISTRY. I even saw that just from the end of season 2 where naked all grown up Izzy introduces herself to Shawn LOL I loved that scene(still do LOL) Did they have a great friendship (before things turned sore), yea, I think they did. I totally blame the writers for screwing up this relationship...it had loads of potential (still does....but alot has to happen before you can even get them back to where they could be).

I love the good guy Tom, I do.....but this evil Tom..WOW...you hit the nail on the head...I LIKED him before but now I'm ATTRACTED to him even more (could it be I have a soft spot for the 'bad boy' LOL can't say for sure LOL) The evil Tom has a slight edge , subtle but there, that the good Tom is lacking..thus making both characters different and appealing on different levels.

Well, I don't like evil Tomthew-I hope we get the old Tom back soon. As to Shawn and Isabelle, I never thought they had much chemistry. I don't know if the actors intentionally played it that way, or if they were inexperienced, or what it was, but they always seemed unnatural to me in their love scenes, as if they never really felt comfortable together. Of course, the fact that they were not in love and it was purely a sexual relationship might have contributed to my perception.

Kyle and Isabelle, on the other hand, have a much more natural relationship-one that grew slowly and is based on friendship and mutual respect. Now I know those things must sound boring to the younger crowd (I'm 45 and I know my students don't think much of those things) but those are the things that allow a true relationship to remain solid over the years. The look in Kyle and Isabelle's eyes as they gazed at each other wasn't just love-it was a bond of mutual kindness. THAT is a lasting relationship.

As for chemistry, it's really up to the viewer. Chemistry is subjective...some see it there and other's don't...there's just nothing that can be done about it (such is life LOL)

As for Kyle & Izzy...while I agree that's how lasting relationships start, I can't rule out that some relationships (that I know of) started off purely as 'strong physcial attraction' which I never thought would have lasted but they have.

Nothing is for sure in love and war...only that they both hurt.

Y'all hated that reason? Finally something we can agree on, but you should know that last year that was the biggest reason the Shawnabelle fans gave for wanting to see the marriage happen. I always thought it was so pitiful-that instead of wanting to see Isabelle as a strong independent woman, people were happy to have her use Shawn as a crutch. Children expect others to keep them out of trouble, but Isabelle is an adult. I despised the reasoning that she "needed" Shawn to be more human and to keep from doing bad things. It was like she had no mind of her own at all.

Well as it has been established she was a child in an adult body with a child mentality but I still didn't like the whole, "MINE" approach they gave Isabelle. I thought it would be interesting to see what happened if the marriage was allowed to happen but I am glad the choice was made not to go through with it. Isabelle is emerging as a facinating character that I root for, have empathy and sometimes sympathy for. Last night did it for me but I think she is ready to stand on her own and do what she thinks is right.

When was that established? Isabelle's blog says that she is an adult. The only debate about her mental maturity has been on this board-the writers have gone on the record that Isabelle is an adult. Personally I think Isabelle is mentally mature, and last year she was emotionally immature. I don't think she was ever a child in an adult body.

LOL it's the "more human" part that's the rub, but I guess that had to be put in cuz this is scifi show. Poor Izzy didn't know what she was back then, Now we at least know she's partially if not all human, and Richard is her father.
While it would have been nice for the writers to come up with a more plausible explanation, in light of Izzy's chronological age and emotional immaturity I can see why the writers went for this reasoning. It's no different than the rational many lovers give each other. I don't know how many of you have lost a spouse that you felt was your soul mate, but when that loss occurs, you realize how much stronger or better that person made you, that they brought out the best in you. True, there are those afflicted with demons that also use this as a justification for controlling, but I just thought I'd point out the other side to the coin.

In Izzy's case, great power didn't equate to great wisdom or understanding of what to do with raging hormones and how to deal with growing feelings for Shawn, sex aside. Her statements after she was stripped of power show her lament for the way she treated Shawn. Shawn's name is mentioned more than the NOVA's she killed or her frightening the school kids, Maia included. When Richard changed her into pre-teen Izzy, she still mentioned Shawn. The girl had/has a serious crush, and that's probably why she walked into his office naked after her warp speed transition to an adult.

The writers have never explained fully why Izzy feels so attached to Shawn, but hey, I really don't care, cuz I'm watching the show for the entertainment value. And if anyone wants to see the real reasons some Izzy and Shawn fans were fine with the marriage, the old posts are still there to read, pro and con without spin.

Intellectually mature but emotionally naive...not a child in an adult's body but a child-like mentality (emotionally wise) in an adult's body (physcially and intellectually).

The confusion (I believe) is in the word intellect. When you think about the word, the assumption that goes along with it is that the 'being' is 'adult' in intellect AND maturity. Where Izzy was intellectually mature..she was emotionally , or for lack of better use of words, immature emotionally. IF we go along with that theory or reasoning then the conclusion would be ......she was still a child or child like in some form of her development thus not making her completely mature/adult or just your well rounded person. This also gives more credence that because she was lacking, Shawn took advantage of an incomplete person...confusing if you will, intellect for maturity. While it would explain his actions as far as Izzy is concern, it doesn't completely excuse them.
