Was anyone else confused in the last episode by Tom's appearance in the "transition room"? It seems to me that when he first was there in past seasons and talked with Maia's "sister" she said she was from the future and trying to fix the problem they were having with their original 4400 plan, the implication being that she was part of the "good" people from the future. Now he is there as part of the "bad" (or techie) people from the future. So is everyone using this "room" as sort of a portal or was Maia's "sister" lying or am I just missing something?

Welcome jammie! (one of my favorite things to wear!)

Sara (Maia's "sister") could indeed be lying about who is good, who is bad. I would wager she didn't tell Tom the whole story when she said their enemies were even worse.

Based on what we've been shown and told to date, that room was the room used by the Future Faction that created the Original 4400s. The Opposing Faction (the Marked) appear to have gained access to the room, or broken into it to manipulate Richard/Lily and implant Isabelle.

I, too think, that Sara could have been lying. But maybe this "protal" is used by both fractions. U know, in every institution yu find "good guys" and "bad guys". What if those people are.... some kind of "hospital", where they create the original 4400. but within that "hospital" there are some who don't think of it as a good idea, who are maybe or maybe not evil. But those put a reassurance into Lily that they could destroy the 4400 (maybe if "necessary)... And Sara didn't even know...

Another thing came to my mind... Dunno if it was mentioned before... I misssed some discussions cause I didn't see one of us till right now. But what if the marked people are just "containers" for the bad guys from the future's souls, or a part of their souls. These soul(pieces) obsess the actual marked and has to pretend to be the original person (for example Tom)... By the time those soul-pieces gain more information, get access to memories so that they perfectionate their mimicking of the original possessed person...

So there MUST be a way how to get rid of that soul-piec/entity... huh.gif
maybe it would work like with Kyle. Shawn has to "kill" the body and then the entity leaves the body...

This is the same room that Alana and Tom went to in Life Interrupted. Tess also describe this room to Tom and Diana but no one believed her because she was sick.

If I understand you correctly, you want to know why Tom was in the room in the last episode?

Tom was in the room because it was dream/memory of his new host (the former Matthew Ross). Tom was never actually there. It was a dream.

He was actually there in the previous visit as he was pulled there from the future.

If you re-watch it notice the doctor that is in there when the 2 men arrive (one is bad tom), says at first "Where have you been, he's been under for 20 mintutes." (or something like that) Then when they get into the light he says to the 1st man (not tom) "Who are you?". So, it wasn't who he was expection. My guess is the Bad guys, took the place of the doctors that where suppose to be coming, killed the other one and did their little procedure.

I got the idea that the two bad doctors who planted Isabelle weren't double agents or anything like that, but just simple intruders dressed as doctors. I guess security wasn't too tight around the bee-hive complex!

Agreed. Murdering the doctor was another good indication that those boys weren't supposed to be in there doing what they were doing!

Maybe they were just living out that little fantasy we all have about our co-workers "If I could get away with it I"d kill that little Batch of cookies." LOL

Then you think that the good PFTF were planning on doing something different with Lily and Richard and the bad guys disguised themselves as doctors to implant Isabelle in Lily? Were Lily and Richard there just to get the regular special abilities before they were sent back? They were supposed to be two "normal" 4400s? Maybe that makes sense.

When they go in the room initially it is only Richard there and the Doc says "he's been under for 20 min." They had Lily after they killed the Doc, i'm guessing they went to get her after they killed him. She wasn't there initially.

I agree, Richard and Lily were supposed to be "normal" 4400s, and the Marked interfered with the process to create Isabelle via Phanta's scenario.

I'm still not sure which PFTF is good and which is bad. Remember the Borg Queen Sarah stole those little kids a second time and reinserted them into new lives like they were lab rats.

I do agree with idea that the "doctors" operating on Richard and Lily were probably in their real bodies but Tomthew saw himself because that's where the conscience is now.

My big question is how did Alana know that much about the room to put it into Tom and her fantasy life? Or was that room vision coming from elsewhere?
Arya
If we think that Tess somehow told the truth about that room in wich they may have been, it could've been a memory of Alana, just subconcious, but one of her memories...

I don't consider her as one of the Marked or of the PFTF, but she maybe has this lost memory somewhere and put it into her daydream with tom (without wanting so...)...

Or maybe TPFTF had something in it so that Alana had to see this room, show it to Tom... She should be support for Tom...

And we presumed she was from the group who created the Original 4400s, but is she?

Exactly. It was an interesting approach to tell the story that way.

These Marked Entities remind me of the ST:TNG episode "The Host," with the Trills - the Trills (sp?) are an alien life form that kind of look like a huge snail, and reside in a humanoid host. They change hosts as needed, such as when the host body dies. Ah, another ST influence!

Not sure about this, but I presumed it was the PFTF who manipulated much of what was seen and discussed as it related to the whys of Tom being in that alternate reality.

Ya, but it's a bit akward to say "Hey you Let me look behind your ear." If they have nice spots --well you'd just know.

Of course. But the X behind the ear is yet another similarity to the Trill story line, isn't it?

We should start a thread about ST/4400 parallels.

LOL my bad.

Anytime anyone says to me "feel free" I respond--"I have felt cheap in my life, but never free."
