To get this thread started off right, I thought I'd start with this:

So, here's my question: Do you agree with the above picture? Why or why not? To put it another away, do you think Marco is in some ways a tragic character?
I guess I'm asking because I've always seen Marco as a kind of loner. Sure, NTAC keeps him around because he's a freaking genius, but at the end of the day, it's not like he's really buddy-buddy with anyone at NTAC. (Well, except for Diane, and that's probably only because of Maia now.) On the positive side, I'm glad that at least he'll be seen with a potential love interest in One of Us.

I think Marco is a very underutilized character. Like Riley on Painkiller Jane, he's stuck in the office while others go do exciting things. Riley usually manages to get into things, however, while Marco doesn't seem to do very much. For the record, I like sidekicks better than heroes-sidekicks do everything heroes do, only without all the fanfare. Marco could definitely have a story or two where he gets to shine and save the day, and I think it would vastly improve the series. Heck, there's an episode of Gunsmoke in the Smithsonian Institute as one of their examples of a Western, and the hero of the episode is not Matt Dillon, it's Chester, the sidekick and the man who was never once deputized. And I do agree that Marco and April could make a good couple-I'm not pushing love story for the sake of love story either. These are two people who have been in the shadows and if they were to join forces, they could really make a difference to the people around them. They don't have to be romantical, although I'd like to see that. They could just be good friends.

Ug temptation. I ain't clicking away but now I'm very curious. But I too really like Marco. He's loyal, vastly intellegent, looks great in glasses, has that subtle sense of humor...I don't know if he's a tragic character, but he certainly is lonely, and that's sad.

"If you're one of the many people suffering from loneliness, then you're not alone. And yet, you are alone. So very alone."
Couldn't resist! That quote had me in stitches.

I'm leaning for manipulation. Tom tolerated Marco on his best days, and suddenly he's buddy-buddy with him! By the way, I liked how in that scene Meghan eventually caved but Diana didn't stop giving Tom the suspicious eye.

You're right, zippy, Tom really used to simply tolerate Marco - he'd get so impatient when Marco would do his explanations. They've certainly become better friends, and Tom has alot more respect for Marco than he used to.

Does anyone know if Marco is left or right handed? If he's left handed, then someone please hand him a vial of promicin. We can't have him be exterminated by Jordan's obsessions with the haves. Besides, he'll probably develop superbrains, and Jordan, having a freaking ubergenius in Promise City would totally help you out.

I wonder if Marco's name is on the list. Personally, I think it would be a shame for him to end up being strictly a former love interest.
He needs to take the shot...or at the very least defect from NTAC and work on solutions to HELP 4400. He seems to have a great deal of sympathy for P Positives.

actually marco is a bigger character than most people give him credit for. he is the one who finds out the information that gives them leads, and has saved ntac/4400's on many occaisons. not everyone has to be out on the field to make a difference, besides, I don't think marco would last long if the crap hit the fan compared to someone like tom. marco just isn't aggresive enough, he's the geek with the information. I can't see him as being a field agent. it may very well be that marco has to take the shot. I wish we could see who has to take the shots on the list. could answer some questions and create new ones.
