So, I've recently got sucked into the procrastinators vortex called message boards-thankfully, this is only one of two I frequent. The other would be sport related.

I tend to get obsessed over things--like really cool new television shows and hockey.

I read the ad naseum about bad language, bikinis and butts and my contacts started to go dry. I'm a bible-huggin-jesus-lover and don't really care for all the "gaddammits," and poor girls sticking their fingers down their throat, but unless USA's mission is to bring glory to God, it's enough to politely ask the producers to rethink things like language and bikini's, and self-esteem of cellulite bear-ers and move on.

So.

Since I'm a recovering Bond addict, I love this show for actually bringing in a little heart, wit, and yogurt into the world of espionage and give us something to talk about.

Ya...I'm getting to my point....now.

1. What episode/scene caused you the most existential thought?

2. If you could write a new scene or re-write an old scene, what would you do?

For me:
1. In the latest episode when Michael said (paraphrased): "sometimes you have to reconcile that people do bad things for good reasons and good things for bad reasons..."

2. Dude, Nix and Co. are seriously genius with this show, especially for making sure Jeffery Donovan got the role. I don't know if I'd re-write entire scenes, but Fiona's character (as much as I like the chemistry between her and Michael) seems sort of stick-figurish (literally--no, no, I'm just kidding) and that's ok for now 'cause she's not the main character, but she's a little too Mary Jane-ish for me. Not only is she every 5'3 girl's unrealistic dreambody, but she kicks ass in heels, blows up things, pushes men around like a Female Lib's ultimate poster girl and appears to have collagen blown lips and miracle push-up bras.

I really like G.Anwar as an actress, and think she could do a better job at making Fi a little more like the "typical woman" except with super-powers. I put typical in quotes, okay? Like, why does she want a relationship so bad with Michael? What the heck does she want out of it? I didn't get the poutiness of "so...you wanna be with someone else?" Her character would seem content just flirting with him and occassionally getting him into bed.

Someone suggested throwing in past scenes to show why these two are meant for eachother--sah-weet idea.

People who really get attached to shows, books, movies do so because of characters that make us feel like we know them as a best friend, and at the end of the day--maybe they're sorta like us (even if they are make-believe).

*^%&*$ Did I just write all that? I gotta go to bed.

Oh, wait, one more thing. Fi and Mikey definitely need a hot dance scene with all the clubs they frequent.

Well, well, well... too bad he said that AFTER he put Fi's DNA all over the bomb! Fi's hair fiber could be discovered after a good bomb blast on the ole duck-tape. Fi's DNA and bomb making skills by now would've already developed a fingerprint trail; therefore, she's going to have to alter her tactics, unless, a trail is intentionally being left.

The way that bomb blew up, the DNA of half the people on the block might be on that it.

As far as the comments about her being too short or wearing high heels while kicking butt, what about dancers that do unbelievable moves in high spiky heels. This petite woman who has probably worn heels since she was a teen is so use to them she'd feel weird without them. She's IRA not a basketball or volleyball player. They use people with the right skills and dedication to the cause. She is obviously a bomb expert. So, I would not recast her.

The casting decision I would rethink would be the brother Nate.

First off, I'm all for Fiona/Michael hot dance scenes, although no amount of quick cut aways will hide the fact that JD can't dance. Fiona is more than welcome to do a sexy burlesque for Michael and he can counter it with a palsied dorky white-boy strip tease for all our drool and laughter.

As for GA/Fiona, I think the casting agents did very well considering she was a dancer and has kept up her dancer figure after I don't know how many children. And Fiona's character is an ex-IRA guerrilla, and considering that and the history of the country, one can conclude that she probably learned her craft since she could walk. The most realistic thing about the Fiona character is her age. They didn't try to pass off some teenybopper in the Fiona character. That would have made me really pissed off.

The relationship issue is a whole other story. Like most women out there, Fiona is looking for either closure or rekindling. Michael sure doesn't help with his mixed signals. The way they interact, you can tell they've been together a while, just look at the comfortable way they met up at the loft after ditching the stolen car. How they "dance" around each other in the kitchen. How they picked Agent Bly's pocket. How they build bombs together. They're more than just lovers, they were partners that picked up the other's slack.

As for rewriting what's already been put forth, it's too early for me to say. And really, they're not my characters to play with and rework. I just hope the creators of this show are reading this board and taking into consideration just how much their work and efforts are being admired and dissected.

In regards to evidence, what about Michael's fingerprints and hair samples in Fiona's stolen car? You really think that napkin kept him from touching anything else?

Leave Fiona alone. Why does she have to be "typical"? There's enough typical in that she can't get Michael to commit. Gosh, the show is so jam-packed with plot and twists and fights and stuff now, I don't know how we can make suggestions. At least Nate added some interplay in the family, which is always fun. Again, I hope they continue to take advantage of where they are -- and tape episodes quickly. We have a storm approaching.

I have to admit, even though I don't particularly like the Fi character, I wouldn't really change her. Only because then if you had "the typical" bond like girl, it wouldn't really work with Mike and Fi. I like the whole non committal dance around scenes. They're cute and light. And would you really want to see Mike banging Fi after every deal they did? Kind of ruin the whole show. I still would love to see Sam and Fi get it on though. I think those characters mix better than Mike and Fi. Even with the Veronica character in. I"m glad Nate hasn't been in the rest of the scenes. No offense to Seth Peterson but the more characters you add to Mike's life to protect the more it gets out of control and the writing will start to suffer unless they are part of the whole team.

hmmm... Are we really sure there's not some MI5 or MI6 involvement? It's kinda' odd that a "babysitter" would be some person not within the same "burn notice" circle. At first, it was obvious that she was "babysitting" him; and then, he ended-up "babysitting" her as a result of CSS getting more involved. I think the "burn notice" is going to get a bit more interesting; especially, if they play-out the "I have to become a terrorist" threat possible storyline.

Regarding his brother, I wouldn't be surprised if he might know more about Sam than what's he been discovered sofar.

I like the Fi character just as she is. It works great especially when you have Veronica as a balance. I don't think either one of those women are "real" -- They are both ideals of their types-- and what's wrong with fantasy smile.gif We get enough reality every day>

Yeah. I didn't think about they way they interact when doing mundane activities like getting something out of the frig. Great observation.

I doubt Miami PD will spend much time running DNA on a stolen car with weapons. I'm sure they have encountered thousands of them. It would cost a small fortune to investigate them all. As far as investigating who killed Concha, they'd probably not even think about looking for who did the job other than to thank them. This chick had to be on their barometer of bad news. Her being gone for good would be celebrated.

If I could write a new scene or re-write an old scene, I wouldn't post all of it on this message board. It wouldn't be a surprise to those that read the board. The best part of being the writer, is, you can keep some of the mystery within the storyline, until it's exposed as the writer would like it discovered.

hmmm... "hot dance scene with all the clubs they frequent." I somehow think this could be bit "explosive" and there's enough terrorist's concerns for Miami as it is, (realistically). But then, if they did somethings, poor Sam wouldn't have any places left to find a club for a drink. Sam could always open up the ole Gulf War bottle "for a special occasion" for Fi and Mikey, if they "went on the town."

I'm a bible-huggin' Jesus lover too! lol Anyway, I agree with some stuff you said at the top. Though I'm not sure if I can picture Mikey doing a hot dance scene without the scene of him as a psycho "dancing" by that guy's car going through my head. laugh.gif

When I'm watching TV the last thing I'm thinking of is my spirituality, religious beliefs, or anything personal. I'm of an age that TV and the people on them don't have much of an influence on my beliefs or decisions. Yeah, I can see a car or outfit and think, hey that's cool but when I start truly evaluating the object I go back to my own personal life to decide what is right for me.

With that said, this show is great but it's purely entertainment for me. I rarely take what an actor says, regardless of how hot Mr. Westen may be, and incorporate it any further than in that moment. Though I joke around on this message board about how hot he is I leave it on the board since JD is playing a character. That character may have some of his personality traits but it's still a role. In other words, I don't take any of this seriously and I think and hope that's the goal of the writers.

Leave Fiona alone? hmmm... I've done a little research into Fiona. She's not all that she claims to be, I do believe. Fiona does have a problem.* I seems that someone Sam does know, may be against Fiona. Upon checking into both facts and fictional accounts that would be great storylines, I've discovered that Layla vs. Fiona might be a great episode. For those that don't know Layla, she's involved with British Intel with Sam. Sam's Stash has some great ideas. BTW, to make the Layla vs. Fiona episode a bit more intersting would be if former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was involved as a special guest star. Tony is involved in the banking industry, and I think it would be up to the executives of Burn Notice to determine if they might look into such an episode.

Ling vs. Sam would an additional great story line too; but, I think I'll see what the writers come up, since, the tension between the United states and China are on the rise.

* = (((Hopefully those involved in characher development of Fiona would let me know one way or another)))*

I have to say, I will probably not be liked for posting this, and since I'm new to the boards I have nothing to fall back on, but for writing a scene, or a large chunk of an episode, I would be unable to resist visiting the old Bruce Campbell. (Side note, the explination for this is I am zombie obsessed in my spare time and have tried to write things in the past, none coming out any good) I would be unable to resist a halloween episode or something where Sam is either having a nightmare (OK, I just said I was terrible at writing, give me some slack, I don't know where it would fit but, it just, gah, sorry for this whole post!) or something that made more sense where he thought he saw zombies. This making him either unavailable, sleepwalking and/or he gets extreamly lucky and starts helping Mike and Fi by beating up what he thought were zombies. OK, maybe I've watched Evil Dead a few more times then I should have, and I feel bad that Mr. Campbell was better known as Ash for some parts of his carrer, but the idea just won't leave me alone. Now that I've posted this, maybe I can get some peace and tell my brain why I don't publicly announce my bad ideas. Thank you for watching, and goodnight.

LOL!!!! That would be a great homage to Bruce. Welcome to the board. We love BC as much as we do JD. I was not a Bruce fan at first having not seen any of the Evil Dead movies and then not liking them after I saw them. I still LOVE Bruce. He is just so adorable. So, keep writing and posting your ideas. I enjoyed it and I'm sure others have and will too.
