Let me start out by saying I am huge fan of the show. I have a problem with it, though. Every time Shawn becomes interested in a woman, SHE IS ALWAYS THE CULPRIT!!! EVERY TIME !!!! It is not even fun to watch anymore. As soon as I see him become interested in a girl within the first few minutes of the episode, I know who the guilty one is. HER!!! Really, they have to come up with something original. The wedding episode, the one with Lou Diamond Phillips, every other episode. It is not even worth trying to figure out. It is just a given that whoever the love interest is, she will be the criminal.

Aren't those the only two episodes...where that happened?

No way! The Civil War reenactment episode, the weather one, the one in the haunted house , as well. There are a couple more. Point is this: Every episode in which he starts to like a girl, that girl turns out to be the criminal.

He didn't like the weather girl, or the haunted house chick, and Weekend Warriors had a partner in crime. Im not standing up for the writers, in fact they goof alot(sometimes script doesnt translate to film very well) but I definitly disagree with your statement.

I think it is easy to say that Shawn does not have the best judgement in women. Also, it seems like he wants one thing from these women (duh) and we all know what that thing is. I maybe going out on a limb here, but I really would lke Shawn to have sort of a lifechanging romance, like the movie Sweet November. However, I do realize that Shawn isn't the type of dude who would fall deeply and movingly in love with someone but hey we can dream, right! God bless

I suspect stuff like this will happen later in the series. probably not as extreme as you would like though.

I agree with Bubba and Tyler. I disagree. Wait, does that even make sense? I think that the there were only two episodes where Shawn went for the real baddie, those being "Psy vs. Psy" and "Speak or Forever Hold Your Pieces."
I also think that, as the creator and producers have said, this is only the second year of a seven year series (they've signed the cast for seven years, as I've understood it, anyway). So, sure, Shawn is pretty immature at this point. His character at this point in the 'character arc' isn't at an all time high. It'll develop over time, and he'll grow up. Perhaps then he'll have the relationship and change some of the audience want him to have.

In the pilot, Shawn's love interest was a suspect but turned out to not be the one. The girl in Forget Me Not never even made it to suspect status. Then the girl in the most recent episode, Zero to Murder in 60 seconds, was there only in the beginning. There were two instances where Shawn liked the killer (Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Piece, Psy vs. Psy), and one where he liked the partner in crime (Weekend Warriors). Woman Seeking Dead Husband, Smoker Okay (Okay, these episode titles are way too long) doesn't really count because Shawn didn't have a thing for the criminal, and Gus only "fancied" her. Shawn didn't have a thing for the girl in Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast, because he suspected her of being the one from the first time he talked to her.
So, that doesn't even come close to "every other episode." You might have a stronger case if your claim was that there are too many young female killers, making them easy to spot out...but then again, there are more girls than guys in the world. :P

I think the producers are angling to set him up with Juliet later one--he gets matched with her in the alien/leprechaun speed dating episode, and there's other hints later on that they might be attracted to each other. This could be that sweet, life-changing relationship froggirl80 was talking about.

They definitely set it up that way, but I'm hoping they change their mind. Just about every single show gets ruined the minute two major characters get romantically involved. Moonlighting. Remington Steele. The Nanny. Who's The Boss. X-Files. Cheers.
Personally, I think it's always better to leave viewers wanting more. The minute you lift the curtain, the magic fizzles.
But that's just my humble opinion.

With the whole Juliet thing...yeah, I think this is one of those shows that they shouldn't put her and Shawn together. I know tons of people would like to see it but personally, Shawn's attempts to ask her out on a date are just as good. As long as they don't overdue it, it'll probably never get old.
