Full Version: Thanks For Burn Notice

After a LONG TIME of not even looking at USA Network listings I found HOUSE then BURN NOTICE.

Were you trying to out do PBS for Worst Network Available?
Out of 168 Broadcast hours per week, you now hold my attention for 2 (HOUSE and BURN NOTICE) and I haven't seen house in a while.

Do Yourselves a favor - get rid of the programing/scheduling department consider hiring a high school student for a day or two - He can do your entire schedule in that time. (Use the savings to buy some better programs) Besides House and Burn Notice (I've heard that Starter Wife was ok) you don't have anything worth looking at.

Do You realize that Most of your programing consists of 4 series (Jag, Walker, Coach, Law and Order) that you've been rerunning constantly?

Did you but Coach and Jag and get Walker and Law and Order free? Stop Shopping for New shows at the NBC charity window and cut the re-runs - enough is enough! For G-ds sake loose law and order! and WWE

Honestly guys - If it wasn't for House and Burn Notice I realy wouldn't care if The USA Network existed or not. If TV stays this bad, I can loose Direct TV and pitch the TV all together.

Guys - Thanks for Burn Notice - Now go work on the rest of your programing.

why should usa change anything? their programming is raking in the ratings. if you don't like it don't watch, the rest of america obviously likes or the ratings wouldn't be so high.

keep up the good works usa!

LOL
A Law and Order Fan...

USA's numbers aren't that great.
Their top show has an audience of 5 Million - The US population is 300 million so they can't get 1 out of 100 people to watch.

Amusingly enough with Satilite TV All the Networks are fighting for a smaller portion of the pie. Now, What that says is that there is a lot of junk on tv that nobody wants to see so they flip stations.

Solution - Simple - listen to your viewers - Ask Your Viewers -
And be careful of the 15 people out there who'd love to add Mr. Ed to prime time.
as well as the ones overly active on this site - about all that'll tell you is that there are people with nothing better to do than to try to keep Mr. Ed on the air.

How many viewers are lost due to a few loud fans?
(f the days were longer or the network supported Data compression it might be possible to see every Law and Order in one Day - Or Stop showing it and let the fans pick it up on DVD).

Failure to do so will hinder your Nelson ratings and adversely affect your advertising revenue forcing your marketshare to deminish farther.

Eh... then I look at the posters on this board and only see patronizing yess men.

LOL - That a Boy Karl!!! cool.gif

About the only thing I watch is the 4400 - I tried to watch Psych but it was pathetic.

Some of the movies are alright but as you so eloquently stated there is room for improvement.
(C'mon now, TNT is Worse)

I think you are correct though with USA's backing they can get some decent programming.
That is If they are interested in doing it.

Perhaps they are only interested in the lowest socio-economic class for a target audience - but shouldn't a target audience have a larger disposable income? blink.gif
Maybe not. It depends upon the products the sponsors are advertising.

The Media has the power to Show us what ever they want to show us, We however have the power to select our media.

No offense, but why even post that here? Go post that in the Burn Notice or whatever else show that you like.

So, lets compare Burn Notice ratings with SVU ratings, then you can complain.

Bigger nets that showed ratings growth in February include USA Network, up a hearty 13 percent to an average 2.54 million viewers in prime. Link: http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/news/recent_di...t_id=1002076520

In Februray, I think, was without Burn Notice.

Thanks for Burn Notice! It's been quite a while since I've seen an "action" type show that was halfway believable. No flying through the air, no 500 shots without a reload, nobody winning a hand to hand fight with two dozen ninjas.

Whomever does the weapons knows their stuff. Sigarms handguns are absolutely top notch, and are all I carry for defense or competition, when it comes to semi-autos. (Ruger for my revolvers)
So far, the only major flub I've seen was when Fiona was "sniping" at some guys on a boat. From what looked like 200 yards or so away, she was hitting a 1 inch railing repeatedly, to pin some guys down. Total BS. Plus, she used WAY too many shots. If I recall correctly, the Browning BAR semi automatic rifle she was using only holds 5 round in the magazine. It was NOT fitted with an extended magazine, and she never reloaded.
Also, she was resting the muzzle of the rifle on the concrete at one point, which is very dangerous, and would change the point of impact, as the weight of the rifle would cause the barrel to flex. When she rested the forearm of that high gloss, top grade engraved rifle on the concrete, it just hurt to watch. She just butchered that stock.
She also would have moved at least a little when the rifle recoiled. I'm 6'2" and weigh 245, and I move a little when shooting that rifle.
