Bonus Quesiton? How did I order the choices??

srry, typo, the question is whhich 4400 character would you not miss the most if they died this season.

Even though I am not that big on Meghan, I think I would miss her if she died. She has made an impression on me...good or bad? I used to her now.

Everyone else has to stay, they all make the show, along with Tess and Kevin.

I voted for Meghan.

I was all set to vote for Kyle too. However, even though I don't particularly care about his character, I do think that the show gets a lot of its oomph from the father-son struggles of Tom and Kyle. I don't think I would miss that part of it, but the writers might, and I don't want to mess with them. I also thought about Maia because she so rarely seems to be a central part of the show the last couple seasons. However, I think the Diana-Maia story is important to the show, and I think that Maia ultimately is a grounding force even if underused.

So, I voted for Meghan, but that was solely because she is new. We made it three seasons without her, so I imagine we could survive her loss.

I voted for Maia because she has been backgrounded by the writers. It's extremely hard to write a precog into a story and not have them be a central character. Thus, the writers have pushed her to the back and her death would take nothing away from the overall story, except to leave Diana back where she was at the beginning of the series.

Everyone else is too important, interesting, or new.

Tom and Diana are the main two "normal" people. Meghan is the third wheel of the dynamic and it would be fruitless if she died. It'd be like Ezri Dax in the final season of DS9, all her scenes would have been a waste of screen time.

Shawn is the one and only character who is the middle ground on the show. In a way, he is the most important character on the show.

Kyle has too many plotlines intertwined with him and his ability is too important.

Jordan is too integral to the show. He makes the show. Billy Campbell is too good of an actor. He was born for this part.

Finally, as we've seen, Isabelle is a charismatic character. Plus, she has the interesting story of: Where does she go now?

I think I should have left Meghan out of the poll and see how it went from there.

... so you don't think the fact that Maia who happens to call Diana mom might be effected by that? If maia dies there will be no going back to the way Diana was before all of this chaos happened. Don't you remember what happened when Maia was taken by the people from the future? When she got Alana to help then refused to leave that alternate reality?

Im guessing Jay is going by lack of appearances. If Maia died, Diana would probably follow suit, or never be the same. She loves that little girl. Even though Maia isn't on as much as she use to, doesn't mean she isn't key. She predicts a lot with just little screen time.

Yes, Diana would mourn. Yes, she might be depressed for awhile, but afterwards, what affect would Maia's death have on the overall story? We've explicated one character that the storyline would change for (and return her to the beginning of the series when she was alone). Obviously the other characters would mourn too, but the question isn't "Whose death would make people the most sad?"

Would a part of the story be missing if Maia died? Well, yes and no, but for simplicity's sake we'll stick to yes. But if any character in a story died or went missing, part of the story would be missing. A character is a part of a story written in for a reason. If you remove them, you lose that element you introduced.

Likewise, we've all grown attached to these characters in certain ways (well geuninely liking them, hating them, or merely anticipating their appearance on screen). In a sense, if any character were to die, then something would be missing to all of us.

Therefore, the question is: Who would be missed the least? Factoring in screen time and overall importance to the storyline, Maia is the most expendable character and would be missed the least.

I don't agree with you Jay. I think Maia is an intergral part of the show. I don't think they always utilize her ability to the fullest. Since we are talking about who wouldn't be missed in the terms of story line, not viewer opinion. I"d have to go with Marco and Meghan. I like Marco but if he was no longer in the show it wouldn't change the show. As far as Meghan, do we need to see the "boss" every episode. I'd rather see Tom and Diana out there trying to figure out how to make this all work, than standing around Meghan chatting about policy and what they can and can not do. That can be obtained by their conversations out in the field.

Marco, I agree, but he isn't an option in the poll. Although, they did foreshadow a future between him and Diana.

The role of the NTAC boss has been around since S1. She acts as the physical presence of Washington. Without her, the whole situation would feel too removed from the national scene.

You can claim Maia is an integral part of the show you want, but until you present an argument besides "I think it's true" you have no valid points.

You say the NTAC boss is a key role in the story. This is true, however how many NTAC bosses have we seen since
S1. The office is key but not the person holding the office. Meaghan is as expendable as any other NTAC boss. If she were to be gone it would not affect the show, another would come and replace her.

As for Maia I think there is alot more planned for her. She has been a key character in the show.

Actually, the fact that we have seen three already further solidifies the importance of Meghan. If she dies/leaves, are we really to accept such a high turnover rate of NATC bosses? It's like how they had so many Heads of CTU in 24 they had to...

Looks like a lot of people voted for Isabelle, Amerirish. She's second only to Meghan.

Nina was dismissed and replaced by Meghan Doyle.

Even though I like Meghan, I voted for her simply because she's on the list with all the major players who've been there since season 1 (even Isabelle, or at least her concept has been around since day 1). But as far as characters I would miss...I think all on the list are pretty valuable.

The show would be nothing without Isabelle. If her character where of a different race and she was ugly, Would we want to see more of her than...you think. I think some of the viewers have a real problem with her character if she wasn't on this show it would have been cancelled. The opening of this season started out so boring i found more excitement in ants storing up food for the winter.
To make matters worse it is suppose to be the 4400 but they are giving all the powers to nornal ppl going away from the original plot and the basis for the show.

If Isabelle had never been in the show it would have been fine, they'd have just found another "terrible evil".

Hee hee poor Meghan. I still like the gal. I would just find someone else to pick. And Monkfan, I think Kyle's a pawn too. Along with the 4400, Tom, Isabelle, and probably a few others. It's kind of sad. But Kyle is the only one of those named who downright scares me at this point. Yikes!

It is funny how a person who is supposedly not going to be miss had to have admin step in to curtail people talking about her. IMO I think she is the most interesting character on the show. All the other characters are typecast in what direction the characters will go. Izzy, I think I know where the writers are going with her but if they went in another direction entirely it still would be believable.

Isabelle's race and/or physical appearance have nothing to do with whether or not I like her character. I actually think she's a beautiful girl, but so what? I don't think her character has any purpose anymore. We're all entitled to our opinion.

I agree with you. And someone said earlier that she was needed in the show --and I responded with if they didn't have Isabelle they would have found another "terrible evil". I've thought about it. The character or any like it wasn't intergral to the show at all. It would have been a good series with just the 4400 and what they had to deal with and the Kyle killing Jordan plotline. There was a lot of time wasted on Isabelles reign of terror--and now she is back not paying for her crimes. I wish they would write the character out of the show and continue on.

I agree with you, Amerirish. Some people keep trying to drag Isabelle's race in and it goes nowhere, because race is not an important factor on this show. I think racial comments are inappropriate here.

Just to let you know I just Meghan as the character that would be missed the least. I have Shawn lower because I do not like characters that hang in the middle. Although this could change depending how the writers write in the future. Isabelle would have lower at the beginning of the season but it looks like they going for the redemption story for Isabelle. I admit that it go the otherway depending how the last 3 episodes play out.
