There are so many Shawn/Isabelle thread and arguments over them, that we're going to take a short break from them for a few days. They'll all be reopened by the weekend.
For the record, this board has the same rating as the show: TV-PG, so keep that in mind. Basically, if they can say it on the show, you can say it here, provided you're not attacking another user. Anyone who persists in attacking another user from here on out will get their account suspended for at least a day.

I'm no fan of Isabelle, but I think that when the debate rolls over three or four different threads, it begins to get spammy. <
Isabelle is a excellent villain. The trouble, imho, is that the show(writers/producers) don't explain much. We are only to accept what is. Isabelle is grown and invincible. She kills her mom and seduces Shawn. She is maniulated by Ross. She gets really evil. She must be stopped. PFTF step in.
My question to you is why? what is her character's purpose? A distraction for Shawn? A third season plot line that has no basis and no subsequent impact. At this point, her main purpose appears to have been to give Rylund Promicin. Is that it?
Now, I throw this word around alot, but it's inconsistent. Where is her father? (I know he's back next episode.) My two cents.
To return to the top, this would be a great discussion for one thread, but four?
How funny. I just attempted to post this in one of those threads that was closed.

that's a bit harsh admin like decision,i feel that it should have been left up to those with conflicting opinions to calm their comments like adults would without parenting intervention, obviously u felt that wasnt the case that's ur prerogative but i still think it was unfair, some of us most of us when talking in isabelle threads we're very civil towards one another while goofing around on our favourite thread , so i feel to punish the majority for the posts of a minority is wrong, especially given that it was brought to my attention that there's an "ignore option", which means that if the posters involved in volatile posts do so it's willfully, i'm new to the board and most of those are not to my knowledge....the reason why i'm worked up over this is because my account was suspended for 3days(for who knows what reason) and it was not fun at all it was horrible to be shut out like that ,so what are we who havent done anything wrong are supposed to do?
well to my fellow i-love-izzy-friends please do not answer posts that might coz another incident like this, i find it very unfortunated to have to reach this point knowing that administration can intervene if situation gets out of hands....i just wanted to let my feelings known, please dont suspend my account for it(it was not my intent to offend anyone)

That's what happens when things get out of hand. A number of us complained about that and were ignored, mocked, or attacked. Personally, I applaud the decision of Administration, even though a couple of my own threads were locked. I stand behind their decision and hope that people will keep what has happened in mind for the future.

indeed it's a shame though !!!
i for one will think twice about (more than twice) answering certain posts and what i write (if i write back) to those posts ,now i also know who i can write back freely without grazing their sensitivity
i posted somewhere a saying from a philosopher "one's freedom stop there where another's begins" and that 's something i try to follow ..which got a response along the lines of freedom of speech(constitution) gives u the right to say anything and everything(which personally shock me) but i agreed to let that rest at a cultural difference pb(me being from france not the usa)we have different perspectives on what's allowed or not regardless of what ur constitution says and there's nothing wrong with that in general...
well i'll just have to find something else to talk about for a few days,i've learn my lesson and dont like to repeat the same mistake twice..i try not to anyway...see u around rock!

My whole point all along was that the threads were multiplying and the animated gifs and junior high teenzine posts were showing up in almost every thread. It probably says something about me more than anything else, but I get so irritated when people reply to a post with one sentence but quote the entire 8-page post to which they are replying. This entire site was becoming unreadable to this old netiquette follower. I thought that I had stumbled into the High School Musical forums by accident.

When was that, Phanta? Who said it, what episode, what season? I've been trying to find out if that word is allowed in the TV-PG rating and I can't seem to locate it. It would be truly ironic if someone took offense at a word used here on the forum when the word was already used in the show and nobody complained. I don't think it's right to single out a person who's only going with what came before.

In season two "Lockdown" when Diana, Nina, Maia, Max, TJ Kim and the other 2 ladies are locked in the workout room. Diana says to Max "Which one of these "B***es" do you think is giving off this signal.

LOL yes I know it has even been said in this show. and if you look up tv ratings go to tvguidelines.org it explains the ratings system and states that TV-PG has "infrequent coarse language"

I did see that, Phanta, but they did not give a list of words that they consider "infrequent coarse language." But of course now that you've recalled the episode where the word was used, there should not be a problem with it anymore. I personally will not use the word out of respect of Elessar, who finds if offensive, but I still think it was very unfair that you got singled out for using a word that was used on the show.

If we all stopped saying/doing things that offended one person, no one could do/say anything.

Overall, I think people in America in forget, just because you have the right to be offended, doesn't mean you have the right to make other people care that you're offended.

I think it's really sad that things got to the point where Admin had to intervene. This is supposed to be a forum where people can express their opinions and feelings. And it always amazed me when someone would get really upset because someone else didn't agree with them. I'll be the first to admit that I've jumped into an argument to defend someone when they were being attacked. But not just because someone disagreed with me. It was a super-pro-Isabelle fan who complained about someone using a word here on the forum, that has actually been used on the show. I don't recall any complaints when the word was used on the show, so what reason would that person have to object to it on the forum, unless they just don't like the person who used the word and wanted to stir up trouble? Well, some trouble got stirred up all right. I would also say there is a difference between provoking someone and defending yourself against an attack. Finally, I know you don't agree with Administration's decision and you think it's unfair, but I feel it was also unfair of you to dig up an Isabelle thread that they missed locking and start talking on it. I'm glad to hear that you will be respecting Administration's wishes in this matter, Evenstar. It's tough on all of us-I had just started a thread specifically for the purpose of avoiding volatile topics and it got shut down too, but I'm not complaining. I think Administration made the right call. We've had some good discussions in the past and I look forward to more.
May I make a suggestion? A protected thread is where certain topics are discussed and some things are off-limits. I think it would be a wonderful idea for you to start a protected thread for Isabelle, where the song lyrics and sparkle hearts can go up and everybody who wants to do that can go there and post these things. They really are annoying to some other posters, and if people have older computers, it can be a problem loading all those images. I think it would be very good for both sides if there was just one thread for all the extra pictures and things, and the other threads did not have the song lyrics and extra sparkles. That's just a suggestion-I'm not going to start a thread like that, because the last time I tried to start a shrine for Isabelle, it got attacked and had to be shut down. But you're a huge Isabelle fan and you enjoy these things, so you could start a thread like that and I think it would be a very good thing.
