I like how the one called Tony "the eternal winner" and the other one said "You can never discount this guy."!!!!! Just engrave those on the trophy and hand it to him now because we all know he so outshines the others!!!!!!

I agree! Tony is the best! You can't and should not have to discount him!

Hello Quinne - glad to see you are back! I didn't know Hector had been married for all these years. I love a love story and it's good to see a marriage between 2 actors last so long - just seen a pic of the happy couple, adorable!

Hello Goodbyegirl

I think Carolee does not consider herself as an actor nowadays...she is a very talented photographer and bookbinder..with her own aclaimed small printing company, her work is beautiful.

Hector was married briefly twice when he was much much younger....he certainly struck lucky when he met Carolee, although I understand the attraction was not immediate between them...love certainly found its way between these two supa dupa people...fabulous isn't it...makes you feel all warm inside when two people in this industry make a marriage work so successfully.

Hector and Carolee are indeed adorable.

Monk Turns 100. This week ends with a charming milestone: the 100th episode of USA Network's brand-defining comedy-mystery Monk, which plays out like a career/life retrospective of the famously withdrawn and phobic sleuth, a role that has already earned Tony Shalhoub three Emmys. When a tabloid TV show (hosted by a wonderfully smarmy Eric McCormack) turns the spotlight on a reluctant Monk in a show re-enacting his 100th case, we're treated to cameos from notable former guest stars: John Turturro as his brother, Sarah Silverman as his stalker fan, Brooke Adams (Shalhoub's wife) as a former flight attendant, and Andy Richter, Howie Mandel, The Office's Angela Kinsey and a few other recognizable faces as criminals who've crossed Monk's path.

Spoiler:
The fun begins when Monk begins to second-guess his work on his landmark case as the show-within-a-show unfolds. I've been watching this show for a long time (although not faithfully for a while), and I'm glad to say the character can still crack me up--in this episode, when he's frantically giving his assistant Natalie directions on using the DVR remote: "Picture freezer! Picture go back! Picture go fast!" Now that's obsessive behavior I can relate to.

Hello Goodbyegirl

Yes indeed Hector is 71 wonderful years old...he certainly does look the business...looks easily ten years younger...especially when he dyes his hair darker...he looks even younger. You should see his hair piece in the film Georgia Rule...they have given him long silver straight silver hair tied at the back like an indian brave....still wonderful I just love watching this guy act...knocks the spots of everyone around...always manages to steal the show....just magical.

I hadn´t realized, that Hector is 71. He looks so much younger! Now I have to say, that I really admire this guy. cool.gif

Tony's going to be in Green Bay all weekend! Found out anyone can go to the fundraiser, just pay $75 to get in. I can't pinpoint exactly where it's being held, I made some calls. I can't go, have to work anyway. This just kills me, he's 2 1/2 hours away and I cannot go! Will I ever get to meet him? sad.gif

Emmy Exclusive: Vegas Oddsmaker Johnny Avello Picks Lead Actor In A Comedy Series

Excerpt:

QUOTE
Tony Shalhoub on Monk: Shalhoub has been nominated in this category as the O.C.D. Detective on the S.F.P.D.six times consecutively, and took the statuette home three times, in 2003, 2005, and 2006. As good as the character is though, to me he'll always be Tech Sergeant Chen, the laid back, alien-boffing chief engineer aboard the NSEA Protector, flagship for the "Galaxy Quest" spoof of the Star Trek universe. So to Tony, I say, in the immortal words of Commander Taggart, "Never give up! Never surrender."
Johnny Avello's Odds: 6 to 1

'Monk' Actor to Appear at Educational Conference
Friday, August 22, 2008
Yahoo! Buzz

While some celebrities like to get their names on tabloids for all the wrong reasons, a number of others are exerting their time and efforts towards meaningful causes such as charity fund-raisers and awareness events. Such is the case for Hector Elizondo, who plays Dr. Neven Bell in the hit USA series, Monk. In fact, the 71-year-old Emmy-award winning actor will join California's second lady, Patricia Garamendi will be headlining an event called the 3rd National Concepts in Care Conference sponsored by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. The event will take place in San Francisco on September 18.

Elizondo, who also recently appeared in the series Cane as Pancho Duque, will be speaking to audiences about his experiences caring for his mother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, a fact he shares with Garamendi.

I have plans to attend and hopefully to meet and speak to Mr. Elizondo.

Yes indeed, lets just make sure we all look around us....do we know of anyone, family, friends maybe a neighbour or work colleague do they need some support...perhaps a couple of hours respite...do they know what help is available...no one needs to suffer the pain and anguish suffered by families like Hector's...there is so much support out there lets make sure everyone receives it...

Sorry...have now got off my soap box....just upset me so much these articles...needed to get it off my chest so to speak.

As you possibly remember: Sarah Silverman was nominated for her role as "Marci Maven" in the series MONK in the category "OUTSTANDING GUEST ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES". Tonight was the 2008 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Short: she doesn´t win in this category. The winner was KATHRYN JOOSTEN as Karen McCluskey/Desperate Housewives (I love her wink.gif )

But Sarah Silverman won an EMMY in the category "Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics" for her song: I'm F***ing Matt Damon
