I know comic con has just passed and dragon con is just around the corner and that some of the actors have made various appearances. But, I wanted to feel out some questions/interest about a smaller convention.

Do you think there's enough interest for a smaller fan (run) convention? (Less than 2000 people)
What about if it was combined with another show(s)? Like 4400, Eureka or Supernatural.
East Coast or West?
Destination city or not? Orlando, NYC, LA or Cleveland, Dallas, Louisville

Just some ideas to discuss. I wish the US was as small con-friendly as the UK.

I would happily attend a small con. I think combining DZ with something like Eureka or The 4400 would be a very good idea. Neither show has a huge fanbase. Personally, I would want it somewhere on the East Coast because that's where I live. Realistically, I think it would have to be on the West Coast and probably in Vancouver. Gatecon was a fan run convention for years and fairly successful. It was organized by mostly UK fans but held in Vancouver. There was always under 1,000 people at that event.

I agree about the US being a tougher nut to crack re conventions. Our stars seem to show up at events not specifically geared to the show-but not very often. I know Michael Hall did the Chiller convention in New Jersey last fall, the Booster Entertainment event in California and some other cons in 2003. It would be nice to see any or all of the original main cast at our own DZ event.
