Hey guys, it's time to take a look @ an event that is 10 years in the making:
The year was 1997, it was the year of Girl Power
Wild Orchid featuring future Black Eyed Pea Fergie had their 1st Top 40 Hit in 1997 w/the song At Night I Pray, Alanis Morissette had 3 #1 Hits w/songs like Ironic, You Learn and Head Over Feet, and The Spice Girls ruled the top of the charts w/their songs Wannabe and Say You'll Be There and on television Melissa Joan Hart of Clarissa Explains it All ruled Friday Nights on abc's TGIF w/her new series Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Living Single was still an instant hit on FOX and Murphy Brown still ruled Monday Nights on CBS, and in the World of Game Shows Summer Sanders became the 1st woman to host a Game Show on Nickelodeon w/a Game Show called Figure it Out and Vanna White turned 40 years old and continued to grace the face of television w/her smile on Wheel of Fortune.
But it was in 1997 that these group of women continued to help make that year known as Girl Power, and they were as Tony Schiavone would call them, The Most Gorgeous Girls in all of Cable Television and that group was called:
The Nitro Girls
While WWE had the Divas and while ECW had the Vixens, the Nitro Girls debuted in 1997 in Orlando, FL which was the home of the Famous Universal Studios and later the home of the XWF and now the home to TNA's weekly series iMPACT!
The Nitro Girls consisted of the following:
Kimberly Page who spent years as a valet for her then-husband Diamond Dallas Page was chosen as the leader and the brains of The Nitro Girls.
Fyre, Spice, Tayo, and Chae
and soon came Whisper, A.C. Jazz,
and in 1998 came Sharmell and Tygress
However in 1999 Whisper left the group and would eventually marry Shawn Michaels and today she is a stay @ home mom and a mother of 2 boys and she was later replaced by a former Balitome Ravens Cheerleader and WWE Diva turned actress named Stacy Keibler.
In 1999, w/Bill Bush taking over WCW Management and w/Vince Russo and Ed Ferrarra taking over WCW's Creative Control, the Nitro Girls had soon took part in storylines, and b/c of WCW's Management A.C. Jazz left WCW b/c of disagreements and then Fyre would soon follow.
and in 2000, Sharmell and Tygress would soon become managers and in the summer of 2000, Kimberly Page would eventually leave WCW b/c of Creative Differences.
and all that leaves was Chae and in 2001, the Nitro Girls were history when Vince McMahon purchased WCW from Time Warner.
after WCW, Several former Nitro Girls formed a pop music group called Diversity 5. They were Teri Byrne (Fyre), Melissa Bellin (Spice), Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman (Storm), Chae An (Chae) and Vanessa Sanchez (Tygress). When Sharmell went to the WWE for the first time, Chiquita Adams (Chiquita) replaced her.
Today, the Nitro Girls still remain close friends and Sharmell is now married to Booker T. and is also a valet for Booker T., the other Nitro Girls still remains in Atlanta, GA Rebecca now lives in San Antonio, TX w/her husband Shawn Michaels, Stacy Keibler now lives in L.A. and is now doing television for abc (which is now owned by Disney), Tayo is now a Country Singer and now resides in Nashville, TN, and as for Kimberly Page, she is now an actress, a spokesmodel, and when not doing television or dancing, she does yoga and she is also an interior decorator, however, in 2005 both Kimberly Page and Diamond Dallas Page Filed for Divorce after 14 years of marriage, and today Kimberly now lives in Salt Lake City, UT, and the Nitro Girls still do get togethers and also appear @ Wrestling Reunions, and Kimberly Page also remains Private Friends w/Torrie Wilson, and during a recent interview, Kimberly Page says that she blames Vince Russo for the break-up of the Nitro Girls.
Even though the Nitro Girls are not around in arenas, WWE have their version of the Nitro Girls called Extreme Expose, but to me, they will always be Nitro Girl Ripoffs.
But as for TNA: The NEW Face of Professional Wrestling, the spirit of the Nitro Girls still lives in one TNA Knockout who gets the crowd fired up, Valerie Wyndham a.k.a. TNA Knockout So Cal Val.
and the Nitro Girls still lives in memories on WWE 24/7.
and that's your look @ 10 years in the making.

and also, please leave your comments as well as your memories here.
and let me just say, that the other Nitro Girls are SO SMART not to sign w/Vicne McMahon and I don't blame them, b/c Kimberly Page said that she does not see herself working for Vince McMahon and that was NOT her option and Chae also said that Vince McMahon doesn't believe in Dancing in Wrestling.
So guys, please tell me what you think about all of this.
