Full Version: I'm New To The Show, And I Have Questions!

Hi.

I never knew what the show was about until I saw an episode in syndication a few months ago. Then I started watching the new season, and I fell in love with the show! I borrowed Seasons 1 through 4 from the library, and I am so totally hooked! The library doesn't yet have Season 5, and I can't find it to rent in any of the video stores (I don't have Netflix).

Anyway, now that I'm (almost) caught up and know the characters, I'd like to go back and watch reruns of this season. Are the episodes rerun in order after the first broadcast run, like the networks used to do? The thought of having to wait until Season 6 comes out on DVD is killing me.

Can someone please tell me where Bruce went? I read the emails (thanks; it's a great idea and gives me a little Johnny fix in between episodes), and I see he's in Boston. What prompted him to leave?

Thanks to USA and Messrs. Pillar and Segan (not to mention Anthony Michael Hall). I absolutely adore the show, and I'm turning a lot of friends onto it.

Faith

Welcome to the Dead Zone forum sffaith. It's always good to see a new member who's fallen in love with the show as we all do. Please feel free to spread the love about the show. Word of mouth is how I became hooked. I went out and bought the dvds as they came out and the rest is history in the making.

Other board members should be along soon to help fill in your questions. In the meantime take a look around the forum for the episode disgussion threads for the previous seasons/episodes. Many questions should be answered in there.

Bruce left because he got a very good Job offer. At first he didn't want to leave, wanted to stay with Johnny but Johnny told him it was okay to leave, so he did.

And welcome, great to see another DZ addict. Now if only you would also become a AMH addict. wink.gif laugh.gif

I myself am only a fairly recent fan, last November was when I got hooked. Saw one ep on Dutch tv and knew I wanted to see the entire series, so I bought season 1 and 2 on Dutch DVD, and then watched that in one weekend, and wanted more, so ordered season 1-4 on US DVD because those also has the extra's that are not on the Dutch DVD's.

I now own season 1-3 on Dutch dvd and will buy season 4 when it comes out here around August 16th I believe.

And I own season 1-5 on American DVD and am watching season 6 too (download it since we don't get American TV overhere), so I can talk with other fans about it. Am not going to wait a year or however long it takes for the DVD's to come out. tongue.gif But of course when the season 6 box does come out, I'll be buying it since I want both my Dutch and US collection complete.

I also run the Anthony Michael Hall Fan Page on Myspace as you can see. Became a major fan of him due to The Dead Zone. And I now love everything he does, be it acting/directing/producing and as a singer. If you have a myspace, be sure to drop by and request to be added.

Anyway be sure to drop in on other conversations once in a while, here. It's always nice to have more new fans to talk to. smile.gif

Thanks, Siler02 and Franci. What a nice welcome!

Franci, I AM addicted to AMH. Good Lord, it's embarrassing for someone my age to admit! I found myself watching the latest episode ("Numb") three times, just to see Johnny and Sarah kiss. After loading up on Seasons 1-4 within a few weeks, I am now going through withdrawal!

Anyway, thanks for your responses. It's really nice to be able to talk to fellow addicts about the show.

It's kind of late here (1:00 a.m.), so I'm off to sleep. I'll check in tomorrow. (Well, for you, Franci, that would be later today!)

Nothing to be embrassed about...I've watched certain scenes loads of times and you and I are certainly not the only ones. wink.gif We AMH fans can't help ourselves. Doesn't mean I just go for that gorgeous body and look, he's one fine actor and having watched many of his old movies, you truly do see him grow in his craft and it's great to see it finally being rewarded by getting a great role in the upcoming Batman movie and hopefully many, many more great roles after that. Although I certainly hope we won't have to say goodbye to Johnny just yet.

And that kiss scene at the end...yup that is one I have rewatched many times, just because it's such a wonderful scene and because it's great to finally see those two come together again. Despite there probably being a hitch later on...still great.

Welcome sffaith. I fell in love with the show about two and a half years ago. AMH has grown into a tremendous actor and a gorgeous human being. I've lost track how many times I've seen certain episodes and scenes just to appreciate him. I hope you have a great time posting here.

If you check back in the forum you will find several threads concerning this year's Heritage, the episode where Bruce left. I hope that and the other episode threads will answer your questions. Please feel free to jump in anytime. We don't always agree-what fun would that be anyway-but we are a friendly bunch.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Ruralstar!

Okay, so I'm having some difficulty navigating the site; I'm sure it will take some time. I could swear that somewhere I saw a posting about viewing the first episode of the season, Heritage, online. Does anyone know how I can get to that? Also, are the episodes online for viewing?

It occurred to me that between not really understanding the characters and their interactions at the time, and possibly having missed the beginning of the first episode of the season, I really need to view it again!

Thanks, everyone, for all your kindness and help.

I don't know if the season premiere is still online, but you can download the eps via itunes for 2 dollars per ep.

Welcome, it's always nice to have another Mikey fan to talk too. I've been a fan since Mike was knee high to a toad. cool.gif

You should be able to watch the first episode, if you don't want to download it from Itunes, when it goes into re-run sometime in September.

Thanks, Crash Test! That answers one of the most important questions!

Oh, how could I have forgotten we get a marathon!! biggrin.gif

So if you can be up in the small hours or record it you'll be able to catch those episodes you missed, September 7th and 8th.
