So my mom and I leave Atlanta around 2pm. We were expecting about an hour and a half drive. Chris was supposed to go on at 6pm, so we thought we had plently of time. We stop for a quick lunch and keep driving. Around 3:30, we think we are very close and my mom wants to stop at one of those "mine for gold and gem stones" places. I was worried about getting to the meet and greet on time, but I agreed to stop with her, if we could mine quickly! We get back in the car and keep driving and driving. Turns out we had taken the idiot's way to Blairsville, straight through the mountains. We finally arrive at the Copperhead Lodge at 5pm. This thing that they called an amphitheater was really a small stage with a cement standing room area in front of it, some seats behind that, and then a large grass field. We run to the merch table and Dot says they started at 4:45 but we could maybe still make it. Luckily there was a long line and it hadn't started moving yet. We were the last two in line. They took us into this downstairs room and only let a few in at a time, pretty cool. My mom and I were both able to snap pictures of each other getting a hug from Chris. Her picture is so sweet, Chris is resting his head on hers smiling with his eyes closed, and she has her head resting on his chest, with this huge grin on her face. Priceless. For my hug picture, you can't see Chris' face because of his hat, but I think any Chris' fan could identify him! After chatting with Chris we went outside and staked out our spot, center stage, a tad bit to Rich's side(for my sake) LOL, what can I say, my camera happens to like him! Chris and the guys played a great show, tons of songs. I LOVED the new song I Miss You Already, I can't get it out of my head 4 days later and I have only heard it once! It was incredible. Also, Bar Band is hilarious. The dance to I'm Headed Your Way Jose was funny as always! I think Rich had a little extra bounce in his jump for this one. Chris played a lot of the album songs, a bunch of covers and new stuff, a great mix. I loved Don't Close Your Eyes and Dust On The Buttle. The rain came and went throughout the day. But that isn't what soaked Chris' shirt. We all got sprinkled with the rain, but man was it hot out there. There was a darling little girl holding up and I love Chris sign, he had us bring a guitar pick to her, she was just too cute. Chris threw out a towel which I caught. I was able to meet the whole band after the show and get pictures and had them all sign the towel. They are a great bunch of guys, each one had something funny to say. After talking to Chris and snapping one more picture, we headed back to Atlanta, this time taking the interstate way home. This way was much easier. All in all it was a pretty fun day, got to hang out with some friends and see one of my favorite singers perform. Many new memories to look back on.
