Is it just me or is she way out of place?

I know that she's supposed to be a political appointee, blah blah blah.

But seriously, she's so brain dead and ditzy. Every time she's on the screen, she drops the IQ in the room. Ryland and Nina were both tough and capable, and Megan.....well, she seems like just a joke. Anybody else think this way, or am I all alone here?

I agree with you. She doesn't fit the position at all. She is way under qualified for the job, from her actions so far.

Yeah. sad.gif It's one thing to be out of your element, but learning and improving. It's another all together to be out of your element and flailing around cluelessly.

"All we know for sure is that Curtis Peck is a horrible, horrible film maker"

Really? That's what you're going to say after possibly uncovering the biggest conspiracy in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD? *sigh*

I like Megan. I know she's not a big experienced law enforcement person, but she is someone who flouted the rules to save her father, so she might wind up being very sympathetic and helpful to Tom and Diana.

Boy are we gonna have to disagree on that one Rock. I think she is being controlled by a Marked. I want Nina back. I so hope she comes back. She was awesome.

Well, I would hope so, since she's Tom and Diana's BOSS smile.gif *chuckle*

Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind her character in another light (Seems to me that she and Tom are getting set up to be closer), but as the head of NTAC, she just doesn't do it for me.

She seems more of the type that would get a "Brownie, you're doin a heck of a job" *laugh*

Well, maybe NTAC could use a different kind of boss-someone who's not just a tough cop, but who can be more humane and sensible. She was right when she said all they knew for sure was that Curtis Peck was a horrible filmaker. There wasn't a shred of evidence of any wrong doing, or promicin abilities, when they first viewed the film Marco and the geek squad were watching.

Maybe. But you have to think that the head of NTAC: Seattle is probably one of the most important people in the entire world. Promicin and the 4400 are clearly the most important thing that's ever happened, and NTAC: Seattle is in the dead center of it. The government's position is clear: Promicin is illegal and we'll prosecute anybody who is positive and/or uses an ability. Now I don't mind her breaking the rules. The scenes with her father were the only time that I actually liked her. But every other time she's talking, she comes off as dim-witted and "blonde". I wouldn't mind the softer and gentler ehad of NTAC if she at least was smart.

I agree on the smart thing, but in the words of Chris Rock ( taken from The Right Words at the Right Time by Marlo Thomas). "Sometimes you have to listen to people that you are smarter than. That's how you eat, that's how your bills get paid."
rockingmule
She's smart enough to have gotten herself in charge of NTAC at a critical time!

Or the person that controls her was able to get her there.

I'm not quite ready to jump onto THAT ship, but it is possible........
rockingmule
If Megan does have a controller, I wonder how they took it when her father was miraculously cured? If I was controlling her, I'd be thinking she's getting out of my control.

Yeah Phanta, someone got her in that position, a Marked or someone else. She certainly feels out of place and inexperienced to me.
Phanta
Looked like she could possible die next epi--I hope so. I just don't like her touching my man like that.
elliv16
I hope she dies next week. I think she is one of the marked.

I agree with you Phanta. I do not trust her at all! wacko.gif

We don't know how the controller might work, but if Megan is being controlled, it could all be a setup. That is, it may not have been her father, she may have been directed to act as if he was... just a ploy or decoy to gain the turst of those around her.

Megan...

Megan is a woman who was asked to be head of NTAC Seattle and took the position because she felt she could do good. She felt it was where she could be of help. I believe that a lot of this comes from a (hitherto unseen and unknown but I still believe exists) mentor: a person whom Megan trusts, admires, and feels an aligance to. This person, I believe, may be one of the marked. I do not believe this person "controls" her as in mentally or anything like that. I believe this is a person whom Megan trusts implicitly and therefore has a higher level of control than even mind-control could offer. Control of someone's mind is one thing, but control of someone's will is far greater. If Megan has a mentor, then he can guide and manipulate her in ways that no one else can.

However,

I feel that the "out of your element" aura that people are referring to in this thread comes from two things. One, she is not the type of personality that would normally lead an agency like NTAC (thus furthering the premise that someone in power specifically wanted her there) and 2) she has a sense or morality and pragmatism that is almost palpable.

I believe she shares qualities very similar to Diana... a "I'll believe it when you can prove it" mentality and a "there's more tha just black and white" moral compass. I firmly beleive that, before taking the position at NTAC, she felt that there was no question that what the government through NTAC was doing... but now that she is here, in the "thick of things" as it were, she see's that the issue is far more complex.

I think the introduction of Shawn as a healer was one of the first things to really shake her confidence in the "absolute" rightness of what she was doing. I believe she is seeing things that she does not like, and also feel she may be doing things she doesn't like. I believe in a way she almost feels "in over her head."

I think Megan is a good person. I see no malicious or even underhanded intentions in her. I think she is being buffetted on all sides and I think she is handling it the best she can. She doesn't want to give up, becuase she still feels she can do good, I think her problem is that she is trying to figure out what exactly "good" is at times and what to believe and what not to believe and in some cases, who to trust.

I like the fact that she puts her trust in Tom and Diana and I think that is good. I believe she sees that, no matter what their faults, they have at least had a very good track record of choosing the better path in this winding road of decisions.

I believe in the end, Megan will turn out to be an exceptionally great Head of NTAC and a true ally to Tom and Diana.
