Lets see...
A very strange high-profile murder occurs: Judge Daniel Steele is found literally chopped to pieces. Steele was to be the judge at Ronny Helmegson's (a small time convict) hearing the next day. Everyone focuses on Helmegson, but there is no evidence. But soon a longer chain of murders occur when not only Helmegson is dead, but the only man with a motive is dead, as well as that man's person of motive, etc. There is no other connection among them whatsoever except for the fact that the last (15th) victim was a member of a Metal Dance club (a club where people dance to heavy metal) after practice with the song Visionary.
Solution (since it is very confusing):
The killer was Jerome Halling, a defense lawyer who was at a hearing with Steele in 1987. The criminal (named Lenny Torrin) Halling defended was ruled innocent, but Halling knew Torrin was guilty (had to defend since criminal blackmailed Halling). Halling waited for the ideal opportunity - Steele at a hearing for a small time criminal. Everyone would suspect the criminal; but Halling would always somehow figure out loose end, so he found out who would want the victim dead and kill him/her as well.

Will Shawn find who put Juliet in this mess? Will Lilly Tomilin sign Gus' autograph book?
"Please stop singing that awlful theme song."
"I can't help it. It is rather catchy."
"If you are going to sing a theme song to a cartoon, please let be
The Flintstones!"
"The Magic School Bus was an educational program, Shawn. Not a cartoon."
"But it was animated, therefore, a cartoon."
