Thanks so much Bubba!
Wow. And last week I posted an article about how happy USA was for the 4400 ratings in the first quarter. Oh well. So much for the new direction of the show. Make em wait for the really good eppys. Yeah well that tactic sure backfired.
At this rate even the hard core fans aren't watching. And to think this show used to have 7 million to 5 million viewers when it first started. Oh well, at least they're still beating Scifi channel's shows.

I think it's getting to bogged down, too many unresolved storylines, disappearing actors, new plots every week. As much as I love the show, it's getting a bit tiring. Isabelle has been relagated to the backseat. Kyle has become a lunatic. Maia, where's Maia?, Ben? we introduce a character that could have been a major player and "poof" gone. Nina? Gone. I guess for the average watcher its too much.

I think you've hit on some likely reasons why the ratings have dropped, Phanta.

I wonder if S3 itself contributed to the problem of lower ratings. So many people complained about the "ability of the week" approach, plus alot of people were down on the Isabelle storyline. Maybe alot of previous 4400 fans decided to not come back?

I don't know if activity in this forum is any indication, but there aren't too many people here on a regular basis (guests and active posters), considering this is TV show during an active season. I don't know if that means anything, though, since not all viewers want to go online to chat about a show they're watching.

I like the ability of the week approach, but always felt the needed and still need to do is start utilizing these abilities. They did with a few, but mostly you left the epi, going wtf is that good for. It all goes back to we don't know what the catastophe is so how can you use your ability to stop it. I'm guessing the marked know and April should be brought in to question "bill gates" guy. Then maybe we can know.

Okay, I have to correct that statement about 4400 beating Scifi. Congrats to Scifi Channel's Eureka (I do watch the show):

Eureka Breaks Ratings Record
7/6/2007

SCI FI's new original series Eureka garnered the network's highest-ever ratings for a series telecast in its history. The July 18 two-hour premiere got a 3.2 household rating, or more than 4 million viewers. That included 1.9 million aged 25-54 and 1.7 million aged 18-49.

Eureka was the number-one cable program on July 18 in household ratings, in total viewers and in the 25-54 and 18-49 demographics.

Eureka was also the highest-rated and most-watched premiere telecast of a cable original series in Tuesday prime time this year.

Eureka is executive-produced by Andrew Cosby and Jaime Paglia and stars Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Jordan Hinson, Debrah Farentino and Ed Quinn. It airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
