Morley Plaza was a cozy little park and a wonderful spot for a concert. They guys were doing sound check early and everyone got a little preview of Lead Singer of a Barband when Chris came out to do his sound check. After that it was time for the M&G.
We all had to say happy birthday to Billy since Dot informed us it was just his birthday. It was my first official M&G with Chris, so I as excited. I had him tie my bandana that I got in the Myspace store on my arm and sign a pic I took of him in Cincy, which he didn't remember me taking.
It was now time for the show to start. Everyone was excited and there were plenty of signs thanks to Caroline. Throughout the show, some of the older crowd was line dancing on the little dance floor they had set up. It was really neat. Since I'm horrible at remembering the songs he did, I snagged his set list off the stage (which all of them signed for me). Here it is:
Beer Or Gasoline
You're Gonna Love Me
Lay It On Me
Barband
Hand To Yourself
Dust On The Bottle
FridayNights
Don't Close Your Eyes
While Lightning
The Chair
Once You Go Cowboy
Small Town
Here's A Quarter
Flowers
Center of My World
Folsom Prison
Jose
Stay Here and Drink
Drinking Me Lonely
Who's Gonna Take Me Home
There were a few others that Chris came out and sang by himself after a short break before the rest of the guys came back out. Don't remember which ones though.
Chris made some money throughout the night though. After telling the story about playing requests that were written on a dollar bill, quite a few of the women in the crowd decided to give him some dollars by putting them down his shirt. (If you look closely in my pic you can see one of them in the collar of his shirt.) He also had plenty of quarters (and other change) thrown on stage during here's a quarter. He even had a handful of change and continued to play his guitar. Seeing Rich do his bagpipes was hilarious. He's pretty good at it.
There was an adorable little girl standing in front of the stage the whole time dancing to every song and singing them too. She had a pink cowboy hat on and boots. There are a few pics of her as well. She took her hat off and waved it at Chris, to which he did the same thing to her (of course my slow camera missed the hair shot, but got one later). When it was her turn to get her pic with him, she kissed his cheek. When her mom went "You did it again, you kissed the beard. Do you want to try and get the cheek this time?" She replied "No, I want him to kiss my cheek." It was so cute.
I'm horrible with names, so I just want to say how great it was to meet everyone that I did at the concert. Look forward to chatting to you more and seeing you again sometime.
