Okay peoples, this is not a critique of the show or this season, merely an observation. I love the way this season is going, but I was just thinking, at some point they really do need to do something with Dr. Berkoff. I know that with the way this show goes they jump from storyline to storyline and don't focus on any one set of characters for long periods of time and I like that about the show because I think it makes it very intersting and keeps the audience from being bored. But referring back to season two, we found out that Dr. Berkoff is actually the father of the 4400 technology and that he does the research that makes it all possible and so far he hasn't done much outside of injecting himself with promicin. I don't think that's a flaw in the show, I've learned that key plots that at times it may seem like the writers have forgotten in fact have not been forgotten but it just takes time for them to come back to them. In other words I don't think the writers have forgotten about his importance to the 4400 but I'm just wondering when they will uncover more of that. I know that he was instrumental along with Jordan in getting promicin to people and that's a big accomplishment, but he does still have to design the technology in the first place and he hasn't done that yet. I'm hoping he will in this season.

I read your post, I just didnt know how to respond. You are right, he hasn't actually "invented the technology" to make promicin. All they have done is filter it out of the 4400 and Isabelle. We can only guess that he is working on it and it is not being showed. They will probably have an epi where suddenly he has the tech. and we will all go "when did he do that?".

I am a little curious as to where Tess ran off to, and whether or not Kevin found her. At the very least, Dr. Burkhoff is the father of the extracispies: he's the first.

I guess you missed it. Summer is starring in the new Sarah Conner Cronicles. She's off now to be a new terminator.

I did wonder in last episode what happened to dr. berkhoff. he is the father of the 4400 technology and was the first "normal" person to get a 4400 ability

I also wonder why it is that when he injected himself he had such dramatic side effects to the promicin whereas with everyone else there it either works or they die. I don't think that was ever explained, just like the fact of how his deformities went away wasn't explained either.

It is explained in the epi that devon dies. He comments that maybe because he was working with "less pure" promicin he didn't have the same reaction. Isabelles promicin was Pure and could be the reason the reactions where different. He got his promicin from the 4400s that had been injected with the P-inhibitor.

Thanks, that explains alot. I'm sure I understood that when that episode aired but alot of the little details from the past couple of seasons are kinda hazy to me.

I read where the actor playing Dr. Berkoff had only signed on to do 4 episodes. Bummer. But he'll be back shortly, as he went off trying to find Tess, as one poster already mentioned. Since the producers have promised (I'm talking about what Ira Behr stated in his video interview) many questions would be answered this season, then one can only hope.

Jeff Combs (Dr. Burkhoff) is doing six episodes this season. 5 more left & lots of questions answered! I can't wait! smile.gif

Actually Kevin got his original supply of promicin from Isabelle during the promicin inhibitor, he said that he was only able to extract enough for one shot, which they gave to Shawn and he healed everyone else, but then they show us that he is hiding another shot. However he did not inject her extra shot, instead he, assumedly, studied it and developed a synthetic form which he injected through a series of shots until his body was able to produce it on his own, verified in "Mommy's Bosses". He said that the reason there was a 50% risk was because Isabelle's promicin was too pure, which says to me that a "cure" can be developed resulting in a safer form, or method in which to take, promicin.
