Full Version: Mr. Monk, Surfer Dude!
USA Network Forums > USA Network Originals > Monk
MightyMO
Has it been announced somewhere that this is the last season of what was, once a promising and creative show? Willie Nelson was bad, and Silverman, why did she have to show up again? The murdering monkey episode and now a murdering canine episode?? Randy and the boy-band episode?? Good Grief, Charlie Brown!??!? Have the writers given up?

Worst of all --- to use a drug abusing, gangster-murderer, hazy-faced crack-head "Snoop-dog" in a story line? Forget it and keep it.

I (and many others) are so disappointed.

Here's an idea for the next show, "Mr. Monk, Surfs Up!" Because the show has been practicing to jump-the-shark for sometime.

Sorry Bubba, didn't mean to give you the old nasal cola rinse, here, have a nice clean towel and a little Windex for your keyboard. Better?

As we say on the board here:

"MightyMO - You're Bringing the Monk Fans Down!"

I have to say that I very strongly disagree with the statements of MightyMo(?) Too!!!!!!!!

Somebody needs a clue hug.

What "many others" would those be? Many others around here are completely satisfied with Monk.

Seems to me you didn't like the first (Red Headed Stranger) second (TV Star) third (Panic Room) or fourth (Dentist) season. What made you think subsequent seasons were for you? Since you decide before an episode airs that you don't like it, why bother to watch? Masochistic tendencies?

I think sci-fi is showing Dr. Who in that time slot. That's a good show.

Let's not get too tipsy on the kool-aid and don't be an ass.
I love the first seasons, too...but the episodes of the last couple of years are slipping.
Snoop-dog??? Come on, you must admit...the premise is getting ridiculous.

Personally I think it shows tremendous faith in us viewers on the part of the writers to take MONK out of his comfort zone by having him work for/with gangsta rappers, like Snoop Dogg. They portrayed the whole scenario with incredible timing and good taste. It made me laugh to see Monk in a world he would ordinarily avoid going into and expand his view into a life style he didn't understand...but, murder; he understands under any conditions.
