Hey guys, with The Great American Bash coming up, Melina has just challenged Candice to a rematch for the WWE Women's World Title.
But let's take you back 10 years ago, it was former AWA and WWE Women's World Champion Madusa in her 2nd stint in WCW challenging Akira Hokuto for the WCW Women's Heavyweight Championship @ WCW's version of The Great American Bash from 1997.
The match between Hokuto and Madusa was a Title vs Career match in which Hokuto won forcing Madusa to retire.
However, with no real competition in WCW, Hokuto returned to Japan and the title was abandoned.
and also, WCW had a Women's Cruiserweight Title, but it was also forgotten as well and that, too was abandoned.
and now, 10 years later, WWE will have their version of the Women's World Championship @ the WWE's version of The Great American Bash.
Will it prevail or will it be worse than the one from WCW?
THAT'S THE QUESTION!
Please tell me what do you make of that.
and that's your look @ an event that is 10 years in the making:
Madusa vs. Akira for the WCW Women's Heavyweight Championship @ The Great American Bash 1997 and WCW retires 2 Women's Championships.
How about that one?
Do you think that Eric Bischoff had something to do with this?
again, please tell me what do you make of it.

I think it will be worse. I'm not sure Eric had anything to do with it.

The match will be worse. I'm pretty sure it was a collective decision by all the guys who ran wcw and who owned wcw to get rid of the womens titles. They probably thought it was a waste of time.

Well actually, there was no competition in WCW, and plus, the WCW and mainly Bischoff was too focused on the nWo storyline, and also, I read that another reason for WCW's downfall was that Ted Turner who owned WCW had stopped supporting the company and that Time Warner who bought Turner's Companies including WTBS and TBS Superstation had shown no interest in wrestling.

yeah. Thats what bischoff say's killed WCW. And thats what i meant, bischoff found the women's division to be a waste of time. I don't think he was to busy on the NWO storyline i find that he knew that it was good business and the womens division was nothing.

Well I personally LOVE women's wrestling, but when the AWA and WWE had a Women's Division, they were popular back then, but when WCW tried to have a Women's Division, it falied, and also, the NWA STILL has a Women's Division, especially since the NWA still has the World Women's Title, and so do the other NWA Territories all around the world.
Now, the WWE's Women's Division was popular, but now it has gone down the drain, b/c Candice now has the Gold, but TNA is still working on getting some more airtime, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Exactly, I think that these men should give these REAL Talented Women some respect.
Vinnie Mac should do the same thing, treat them w/respect and not like Circus Animals.
