Hey guys, as you know:
Friday Night Smackdown! will be up against ANOTHER Game Show from the Executive Producer of Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100, it's called Set For Life and it will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
and so the question is this:
Will SD! overcome Jimmy Kimmel or will Jimmy put SD! to shame or will they both fail?
THAT'S THE QUESTION!
Tell me what you think.

Well just you know, no disrespect to you, SD! has been the most watched show on Friday Nights beating out CBS' Ghost Whisperer and NBC's 1 vs. 100.
How about that?
and also, I am a fan of wrestling and Game Shows, but I don't think that Jimmy Kimmel is going to beat SD! in the ratings.
I also wouldn't be surprised if SD! beat out Nancy Grace, and I do love Nancy Grace as well.

I disagree. I like wrestling, but there is no way I like Smackdown! as much as you. I think they made a lot of mistakes during the draft and this idea of making SD! more like Raw concerns me a bit. I haven't watched a full hour of the program since April or May. It doesn't make me any less of a wrestling fan though.
That being said, I don't think this game show will top SD! in the ratings. Remember how popular Who Wants to be a Millionare used to be? And now there is a new host on the show (Meredith Vieria?) and it comes on at some hour during the day, at least in my part of the country, when usually only young children and retired folks are home (like 10 or 11 in the morning). I think that's where the Deal or no Deal type game shows will be headed soon--they are just a fad and their popularity will be short-lived.

Hey you know something?
Before I watched SD! on Friday Nights, I use to watch these shows that you probably remembered:
Remember TGIF?
In the 90's I use to watch Full House, Family Matters and Step by Step, remember these shows?
Those show were BETTER on Friday Nights and they're STILL better than SD! these days, and also, they now air on abcfamily and Full House is also on Nick @ Nite.
My favorites from those shows are as follows:
Full House-Joey and Aunt Becky, Joey is funny and Aunt Becky is Serious and No Nonsense, Kimmy Gibbler is STRANGE!
Family Matters-Carl Winslow, Steve Urkel and 3J, Waldo and Weasel are crazy.
Step by Step-Cody, Dana and Al, Cody is Da Man, he reminds me of Laser from AG, Dana is serious and Al is a Stand-Up woman and I also LOVE how she gives JT a hardtime, JT is a mess.
Now those show RULED Friday Nights
and BTW, Step by Step is the show that had Bobby Ewing from Dallas and Suzanne Somers and can you believe that she's the oldest of the cast? She's 61 and still looks good, she probably still has her Thighmaster, Buttmaster and her Torso Track.
So guys, tell me does anybody remember those Friday Night Shows and are they STILL better than SD!?
I do and they're even more funny than Jimmy Kimmel, I also liked Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
Tell me what you think and also your favorite characters.
and Slash, I agree, I, too am tired of seeing the same old BORING matches week after week after week.

I remember watching Full House during the day, not on Friday nights. But I do remember Sabrina, Family Matters and Boy Meets World. When I was younger, I wasn't allowed to stay up long enough to watch Boy Meets World, but that was another great show. (Here I am dating myself again

.) Family Matters was my all time favorite, but I didn't really like (or finish watching) the last season when they made all those changes and stuff. I can't remember the last time I thought about Waldo, so thanks for putting a smile on my face!
For me it is hard to say whether those shows are better or worse than Smackdown! I enjoyed them more, but for different reasons. I'm not looking for the same kind of entertainment in a sitcom as I am in a wrestling program...but then again I guess that's why 10 years later I am watching Monk and Psych instead of Smackdown!

I didn't like either. I only liked full house. sabrina was good. None of them are as good as the best comedy ever:
Friday. Sorry just had to plug it.

hmmm..I think they will both suffer, but SD! probably will get the younger kids watching although I can bare to watch the same old crap as usual. With no Edge as champ and Hardy not getting a push I don't see myself watching for awhile until things change.
I used to watch Family Matters- Steve Urkel

and Full House was good. Sabrina I caught an episode or two and that was pretty good too.

Jimmy Kimmel? Please! I preferred him on The Man Show. Smackdown will spank him, but his show will be nice to look at during SD commercials.

Well here's something about the 3 Sitcoms that I've mentioned:
Full House ran on abc for 8 years from 1987-1995, in 1991 the show moved to Tuesday Night and when Full House got cancelled in 1995, it was a very sad moment, b/c the reason why it got cancelled wasn't b/c of the ratings, I mean the ratings were good, but the reason it got cancelled was b/c the show didn't have enough money to produce new episodes, and so the show got cancelled.
and also, when Family Matters came back on for an 8th Season and when Step By Step came back on for a 6th Season, the show has had some changes, I mean Urkel went to college and Cody was taken off of Step By Step and was replaced by this Jean-Luc guy, and I didn't know what the heck he was saying, and so when abc cancelled those shows, both Family Matters and Step By Step moved to CBS and the reason was b/c CBS wanted to do a 2 hour block that was going to compete against their former home TGIF and especially Sabrina and Boy Meets World and so, both of those shows got beat, and I thought that it was a disasterous idea to move Family Matters to CBS, b/c the show has just lost its direction, and also, I thought it was a pretty good move to have Step By Step on CBS, but then Suzanne Somers left the show and started doing Candid Camera, and so both shows got cancelled in 1998.
Well, it comes to show why good shows got cancelled too soon or prematurely.
So guys, what do you make of that.
