I started watching after I saw the ads for the show during "The Starter Wife". I enjoyed Jeffrey Donovan on Crossing Jordan; he's very good at playing the guy you love to hate (as in Hitch). I'm really enjoying this show and hope it sticks around for a long time.

*waves at shaun* I too am from the CBS Jericho boards. I saw the promo for this show and had to check it out, mainly cause it looked like something new and fresh. The fact that Bruce Campbell and Jeffrey Donovan are on this show is just gravy.
This is a great show, long may it continue. (Mainly cause, should it not, I shudder to think what I may be inclined to mail in large quantities to the USA network in the near future! Writers and producers, you may want to take note...

I generally only write into technical bulletin boards about issues I'm having with my computer system. I loved the commercials to Burn Notice. I watched the 1st two episodes a couple of times. This is a great summer watch. Can't wait to find out more about his crazy family. Sharon Gless as the Mom is a great pick. The brother will probably be as screwy as the rest of the family.

Hello, I just joined the USA Network Forums and the Burn Notice board.
Tell you the trush I am not a huge fan of forums or message boards but after watching the Burn Notice I really wanted to join the others who enjoys the show as mush as I do and also to read the comments of other fans.
I live in New York, NY and last week I was in Seattle in my hotel room channel surfing to find something worth watching then I found the new Burn Notice on USA Network. It's been a long while since I felt really excited about a new show. Of course Monk has been my favorite since the start becasue of Tony Shalhoub and after that I really got hooked on the Psych. Now I have my top three favorite TV shows on one channel. How convenient is that?
Burn Notice is a really cool show and I hope the USA Network will continue with the series. Miami is a great place to film but I know it's not always as sunny as on the show. Still it feels good to see the sun, beach and the ocean even on TV. It's hard to find shows worth watching on the TV lately even with hundreds of channels. Monk, Psych and the Burn Notice are the only three shows that I don't mind sitting through commercials. The rest of the shows I watch all go in to the DVR so I can skip the commercial at a later watching.
Thanks again for a new and exciting show!

I'm not new to the boards either, but of course I am new to Burn Notice. I enjoy the show, though I do feel that it has some flaws. I watch the show because I love shows dealing with crime, drama, comedy, and/or secret agents and Burn Notice has a fantastic mix of all of those elements. Other USA shows I like are Nashville Star, Law and Order SVU and CI, Monday Night Raw, Monk and Psych. I look forward to talking to ya'll around the board

Thanks for the welcome Bubba, and hi to all. I'm new to the b boards here, and pretty new to the USA Network in general. Most of my TV watching consisted of Scifi channel, until they ended Stargate SG-1, and are on break from my fav other shows for the summer. I'm pretty new to b board chat as well, so please bare with me.
I jumped over to the USA Network to watch The Starter Wife, then got hooked on Monk and Psych. Also love Law and Order. But Burn Notice is Awesome. I've always enjoyed watching Bruce C. in pretty much everything I've seen him in. The rest of the cast is great too, I've just not seen them in many things. I've not seen much of Jeffrey D. either, but now that I have, I'm a major fan.
Jeffrey D. is perfect for the part of Michael, and the rest of the cast are fantastic as well. They are so well suited to the characters they are playing. I can really connect to Madeline (Sharon), as the character is exactly like one of my close family members. So close that it's scary. Yikes!
Also, I must admit, that Jeffrey is just hot, hot, hot! Wow....what a handsome man. Can't wait for the ep with him in his boxers. jk...sort of.... He does such a wonderful job of having that stern and serious face, but when he smiles(drool), he's just gorgeous.
Anyway, I really hope the show runs for a long time. Every time it airs, I have to drop what I'm doing and watch, no matter what time it's on. One of the best new shows that I've seen in a long time.
Nice to meet you all, and I look forward to getting to know you.

HAHA You think they would have gone with filet mignon or crystal....LOL I guess yogurt is better than flaming bags of dog poo.

But hey, welcome! I hope you are enjoying Jericho, stop by the Jericho boards any time:
http://jerichoboard.cbs.com/n/pfx/forum.as...ag=CBSMBJericho If you are new to Jericho and want to see the first half of the season you can watch it on cbs' innertube:
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/videos.php its free! You gotta love the cheese factor too!
As far as the nuts, they were actually more of a tool to get attention and media coverage, and also a good rallying cry. And it was something that could be easily donated so they wouldn't go to waste. Most of the campaign was based on polite, personal letters, postcards, emails, feedback and phone calls to the network. Heck we even sent Nina Tassler's assistant Lori, flowers and some one sent her a gift certificate as a way to say thanks for taking all our calls and being so cheerful and polite.
Burn Notice is great! Action, adventure, comedy, intrigue, a little romantic under current... Another show with a spot on cast, and some fresh tight writing. And believe me I have already started giving USA feedback!
Post on!

Hey everyone. It's been a long time since I've gotten excited about a show, but even from the 1st adds Burn Notice looked like it would be a great show and so far I've enjoyed every episode. The show had a good cast of likeable (if not neurotic) characters and I like the fact that you get a good dose of comedy and action in each ep. I enjoy the freeze frames and the character descriptions that pop up w/a new client, bad guy etc. I haven't seen that done in that style before and it's creating a "Burn Notice" look. And I don't know if I'm the only one but everytime I see the show I get the urge to move to Miami - maybe it's the weather or maybe it's all the girls in bikinis

Burn Notice is a potential blockbuster.
In same time slot:
The Closer is a big winner.
Shark with James Woods is superb.
But Burn Notice started off fast, believable, hip, with good cast, good acting, and great variable location. Anything can happen, and does, in Miami or the Keys. This concept has been a bit reminiscent of the Thin Man only more current, hip, showy, with real people.
The problem is that nitwit brother. If you continue to have that character then a great show degrades into a retarded version of My Name is Earl. Do not let it go that way as it would be a stupid loss. Have the brother move to Alaska or some other planet as his character contributes nothing.
And the mother does not need to be in every show. She is good and does not need to go off-planet but do not have her in too much. Every other show would work fine. Once in a while she could actually help on some operation.
Sam is fine and so is mercurial Fiona, she is terrific and very real. However, it is clear that Sam is more than a boozy flirty ex-spy bum so once in a while his smarts should show through. He could not have lived as a spy if he had been as inept as he seems. And spies are seldom one dimensional. Plus his personality adds quite a bit to the show. They add a lot to the picture and are totally believable.
Also we need to discuss money.
Your writers have stated that all Michael's money was frozen. A real agent would have had secret cash stashes and passports in many places as he would have known that things go to hell fast and without warning.
But Michael has NO money. This is stupid as it costs some money to live, wear decent clothes, and pay for activities during operations. On only 1 show he made a lousy $300 off his mother's friend and some off the first guy he helped. Since then you have not shown he has made a dime. Many of his activities could have brought in money. Burning the scam artist could have brought in a small bundle while restoring the scammed peoples savings.
People are not stupid. If you want to sell this show then he has to make enough money to live on plus carry on operations. And Miami is NOT a cheap town. See to it.

Hmm, all good points. I realize that Miami's not cheap, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief if it means regular doses of Jeffrey Donovan every week.
Hello, everyone! New to the
Burn Notice boards but not to the boards. I even had the honor of being named a
Psych "Fan of the Week" last year. But now I've got a new snarky man in my life--sorry, Shawn. Bruce Campbell was what first attracted me to the show, and I thought the premise and locations were intriguing. I love the distinct look of the show, down to the "title cards" for the supporting cast, and I think with each episode the show will continue to strengthen its distinct voice. A blend of action, humor, suspense, and helpful hints from the world of espionage. Donovan is simply riveting as a reluctant hero. And I do enjoy when Sam and Fiona are added to the mix; they all have such great chemistry.
Looking forward to future episodes!

Hi! I joined because I love Jeffrey Donovan. I actually remember him first from being the jerk on Hitch. He's great. Gotta say I love this show. He is perfect as the snarky guy who is a little dangerous and a little funny and a little vulnerable.
I am a little bit a fan of Monk, Dead Zone, Psych, and I liked the first season of 4400 but I never felt compelled to sign up...till now.
Plus, no one I know wants to talk tv, movies, etc with me besides my sister so I need people to talk to with similar likes tv-wise.

Michael and Fiona have the best on-screen tension since Maddie and David (yeah...I just dated myself!). But what other show can you watch with your 17 yr old son and everyone loves it?
Thanks USA, the producers, cast and crew...Burn Notice is on "series record" at our house and we're looking forward to a 2nd season, too! Congrats and keep it coming.

Firegg- I knew exactly who you were talking about when you said Maddie and David! And now that you mention it- Fiona and Michael are kinda like them- must be one of the reasons I enjoy the show. I just couldn't put a finger on it. I also think Sharon is great at playing Michael's mom. It's funny because I used to watch Queer as Folk and her son on that show was also named Michael. I read the review in People magazine but the person who wrote the review doesn't think that the actor who plays Michael is right for the part- but I disagree. I think he's great. He needs more shirtless scenes though! But I'm kinda peeved at myself because I was so exhausted this past Thursday- that I fell asleep after 9:30 pm so I totally missed it! ARRRGGHH! I'm hoping I get to catch up before this Thursday. I like that USA repeats the shows. I guess I need Tivo...

I'm watching Burn because of the sarcasm, too. It's irreverant. Kinda of witty in a "I don't care what anybody thinks of this, I'm doing it my way". One suggestion to writers --- stop using the main good guy as a punching bag for the bad guys. I get that it's just t.v. but it is a boring segment due to all the fight scenes I have already seen in my t.v. past.

Hi there. I guess I'm technically new to the USANetworks forums, since the last time I was here, they were for Studios USA!

Old school fan of Bruce Campbell's series from 2000-2001, "Jack of All Trades." (And plenty of things before that.) Probably won't be around here much, but am impressed by that rarest of creatures on the internet, a fan forum frequented by people

First, I'd like to say this is the first forum I've joined as I love this show so much. The posts have been very entertaining to read and thought provoking at times.
I don't watch a lot of TV, especially since the birth of the reality TV show. I'm a huge fan of Burn Notice and would say at this point I'm a little obsessive which concerns me a little and can't wait for it to wear off. I'm not one to be star struck or become obsessed with tv shows or actors as I feel most are probably not worth the trouble. Nonetheless, there are still many actors (and shows) that are the exception. Enter Jeffery Donovan. When you become a parent, and name your child, it is usually after someone who you admire and whose character mirrors that of what you would hope for your child. Since I get to name our second child, and if (and when this happens) it is another boy, I will name him Jeffery. Not because Jeffery Donovan is an actor, a famous person or a very handsome man but because he seems to be the exception in the business. Every interview I've seen and article I've read this man is talented, intelligent, humble, gracious, respectful, genuine and MOST important has a great sense of humor. These are the values and qualities that I will try to instill in my children. I hope Jeffery Donovan keeps this refreshing, down to earth attitude and continues to be a terrific role model inspite of his new popularity.
I've been a fan of USA Network since Silk Stockings. I'm very impressed with this show, the cast, and the writing and will be a Burn Notice fan for years to come...USA Network willing.

Hi, Bonniec, welcome to the board! Aw...I love that you're planning to name a son Jeffrey. I agree with you wholeheartedly that JD seems to be an exceptional person in the industry with all the qualities you mentioned. Hopefully, he'll be able to deal well with success and never have it affect him adversely. He's so totally admirable and lovable the way he is!!!
