I agree. You are not the only victim here. Even Trixie, Dob4l, Irisheyes and everybody else lost their display names. Also, spammers keep coming in.

The new change was supposed to cut down on spamming. But it hasn't helped now. The only thing it has cut back on was the people who we're members that could log in. The spammers are at an all time high, they're here more than they we're before the change. Hopefully admin can fix it. I think they've blocked everyone from their PM list because they were tired of complaints LOL

So, I really am in love with 30 Rock. I bought the first season on DVD, and love it. Tina Fey is a freaking genius. And I love that it seems to be a casting ground for SVU actors, as Peter Hermann, Stephanie March, and Dean Winters were all on it, and Diane Neal is gonna be on it this upcoming season. I loved Peter's character, as he and Tina were a really cute pair. I'd love to see Mariska or Chris on there, as well as Belz or Ice T.

It's a hilarious show and I recommend it to all.

i have never seen not one episode of this show, but tina fey is pretty hilarious........i liked her on snl. i'm gonna have to check it out sometime. i didn't know those svu actors came out in it. didn't someone say cm was gonna come out in it sometime soon, too?

Tina was awesome on SNL. She has this wicked sense of humor. I miss her on SNL, but hopefully she'll be reprising her role as Sarah Palin a lot more.

If you do watch 30 Rock, you should check out "Blind Date" which is the episode Stephanie is on, or "The Head and the Hair" which is the one that Peter was on. I also really like "Tracy Does Conan" which has Conan O'Brien on it. I can't wait to get the 2nd season on Oct. 7th.

Paul Newman passed away at 83,,,

Paul was such a man with a good heart inside and out. He will be missed. May he rest in peace and prayers go to his family. I saw his movies once "The color of money" & "The message in a bottle". He was amazing in his performance.

I need to vent. There's this girl at my school, she's older than me. She was positive, dedicated christian and knew where she wanted to go in life. I really looked up to her and admired her. That was last school year and all this school year I haven't really been paying attention when I saw her. We'll I saw her today and she's pregnant. A big shock right. I saw her yesterday as I was going to class and just though she was gaining a little weight but I wasn't really paying attention. When I saw her today I was like 'How did I miss that belly'. It just saddens me to see someone who knew what they wanted in life and would work hard to get it, have to but her life on hold. She would always talk about remaining a virgin until she got married, going to college and was an Honor Roll student. I admired that. Every time I think about that I just want to cry though. I just hope she can still raise her child and at least finish high school. There's another girl in my class. Takes all AP classes, makes A honor roll, and has 2 children. A 2 year old and a 3 month old. It's not impossible. But it is hard. The girls at my school are dropping babies out left and right.

I'm sorry about your friend. May I ask if they teach sex ed. in your school? It was in the 5th grade curriculum when I was in MD. They tell kids to just say no, but they don't always tell them what to do when they do actually get pregnant.

I have taught too many children who have children. I had a senior who would come in with her 3 year old son 5 minutes before the end of the day, complete her work, turn off my light and close my door. She had to do that b/c her parents were both in prison and she had no one to watch the baby. She got her degree and she has a full time job and part time college. Some make it while some live off the system (govt.).

No they don't. The school claims they don't have the efficient funds to do that. (Funny though considering they just hired another computer teacher, and bought a whole new lab of computers $1000) I guess you can call our child development class is kinda sex-ed though. She talks about STD's and whatnot (for like 3 months though and we go to her class every other day)and shows up pictures of genitals with STD's (probably to scare us into abstinence and let me tell you, it has worked I couldn't eat without gagging for a hot minute)


I'm glad to hear about the girl with the child getting her education. I just hope my friends can do the same. I know her parents will offer her some help, and the baby's father is stepping up (thank god) but I'm in such shock, like I still don't believe it. She had the ultrasound today though so she has proof. Alot of the time when students are pregnant they get transferred into one of those special school that will babysit the baby while they're in class. They can't force the girls to do that though, so we still have alot of girls with baby's though. The sad thing is their situations go alot like this. My friend (boy) had been dating this girl for over a year, she was a virgin and wasn't ready to have sex. Eventually he pressured her into it.... She's due on thanksgiving and he's moved on to other girls. As soon as he got what he wanted he took off. Needless to say I was pissed at him, but he's got a job and he talks about the baby all the time, but it still saddens me. He's 16. The youngest girl that I know who was pregnant was 13. She miscarried though

I hope that girl get's it together and be like the girl you mentioned above. She's worked to hard to fall back now.

The youngest I have seen was a 6th grader proud to be pregnant. Now that is terrible. Her parents were all ok with it. And the boys usually are going to step up until the kid is born and they find out how much work the child actually is. Unfortunately it is sad but true. I hope the guy sticks around for your friends sake.

When we taught sex ed in Maryland, it was part of the science curriculum.

I agree with you...but teachers can't be parents too even though sometimes I feel like their mother, I am not. She wasn't my student, but if that was me and I came home pregnant in the 6th grade, my parents would have killed me. Kicking her out isn't the answer either. Her parents should have been upset and even pissed but to kick her out is a little much IMO. Being there for her when she made a mistake is what they should have done. But I am not a parent so I really shouldn't speak like one.

Not to butt in on the conversation, but I am taking a class this semester on adolescence, and we talk a lot about teen pregnancy and whatnot. Some of the stories that my classmates tell are alarming about kids and sex. According to one girl, there is a problem with gangs at her school, and one of the members of the gang has AIDS, and the initiation for the females who want to be in the gang is to have unprotected sex with the guy. And a lot of them do it.

It's a shame, and very scary to know that is what I am getting myself into...

To do with the above, however, it's alarming to say the least. Maybe they're depending on new drugs not yet invented to prevent them from getting sick? I just find it so hard to believe that someone would knowingly be that stupid.

I read somewhere that compared to others, Western society is a very low on contact. The Hite Report on family said that the average kid goes from 5 to 15 without really being touched. We get all sorts of warm physical contact from our parents etc. and suddenly we grow out of it. Maybe the reason teen pregnancy is on the rise is because kids feel unfulfilled in familial relationships, but not in a Freudian way.
