*crosses fingers*IRISH, you need to get some "how the irish pray" quotes tongue.gif i sure hope this isnt the last season sad.gif

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

How are they...a blessing and a prayer...

I have one question at the americans *lol* Is it normal that the mailman come into your house (opens teh door when it's not locked) and threw the mails on the floor in the hallway? This mailman is so strange lol I'm at the moment alone at my host familys house because they are on vacation and yeah yesterday I hung up the washed rugs from my bathroom and suddenly I heard a noise at the door. Than I saw the mailman inside and standing in the hallway. He looked at me and said: Hi! Oh gosh.. maybe it's normal here but I only thought: what the hell is that? So can you tell me if this is normal?

If you aren't sure if the family has that arrangement with the mailman, ask them and make sure what he is doing is ok. It definitely isn't normal here in the USA. If there is no such arrangement, then make sure the door is locked. Always go with your gut instinct. If you are worried, lock the door.

Well I asked my host father and he said, that they don't know him. Well I should maybe lock the door. I hope I don't forget it because it's so different to Germany: When you close the front/back door in Germany they locked automatically and here when you only closed the door. you can open it from outside too. So I have to lock it from inside. I have to learn this lol

Well, I live in NYC but have family in Boston and it is not common in ether place. It probably is just something your host family arranged with the postal carrier and forgot to tell you. Last month I was house sitting for my aunt and was hanging out by the pool when the gardners just walked in the backyard and started mowing and watering. Acted like I was not even there. When I mentioned it to my aunt just laughed and said "oops!". If you keep the door locked he would probably just leave the mail on the front step.

Oh buddies I tell you this year will be the most adventurous year in my life lol Everyday is something strange or new *lol*
Today at approx. 10am the door bell rang. It was a man that told me, that he had to do some inspections about pest and mildust in our basement, garage and around the whole house. Yeah I thought: What should I do? I don't know nothing about an such appointment. My host family didn't tell me that today a man will come. But then I thought: well, they have so much to do: work, vacation etc that they maybe forget me to tell this. Ok I let the man inside and he went in the basement.
Afterwards (when the man was gone) I thought: I'm so frivolous. I mean I had luck and he was really an inspector but if not? But what should I do in such a situation? Don't let him inside or call my host parents or what?
I have so much luck guys, I tell you this.

The kids and my host mum will be back in the afternoon so I have still free time *lol* I'm sitting now at the porch, drink some water and enjoy the sun.

Your definantly lucky. Especially since your in America now, the people here can be so cruel and outrageous you can't take any chances. Next time definantly call your host parent's to verify, and if he's a real inspector if you ask him to say on the porch while you do so, he shouldn't have a problem what-so ever. I wonder why they didn't tell you ahead of time though.

Hey Enaka! My email is back up and running, so email me anytime.

As far as I know, DMB is still going on w/ the shows. They went on w/ their scheduled concert Tuesday night, which is when LeRoi passed away. And Jeff Coffin, who plays the sax w/ Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, has been filling in for LeRoi for the past couple of months while he was out recuperating from his accident.

We are flying out to Seattle next week for the concerts at the Gorge. These will be my first concerts after LeRoi's passing, and I am a total emotional wreck over the whole thing. The Gorge shows are the absolute best, and those 3 nights usually cap off the summer tour so well - I just know it will be extremely hard for me, Marc, and all the rest of the DMB fans.

sad.gif .............Definitely sad times............. sad.gif

Anyway, again, my email is back up, so hit me up!

Thanks. I will enjoy America :-) I'm in America since 6 weeks (on Thursday 6 weeks in Boston) and I love it. I really like the country and I don't miss my home country lol Ok I miss my family and friends but not the country.

Yeah I know that I'm lucky. My host mum said, that I could call her the next time when something like that happend.
Oh no, I don't want to play in a SVU case *lol* Yeah no joke I know. I had really good luck and I will be more careful.

I was on Saturday evening after work with 4 other Au Pairs in Boston (Back Bay exactly lol) This part of Boston was so beautiful. I really enjoyed it. The highlight was the Predential Tower. It was awesome.
Well one of the Au Pairs celebrated her "Goodbye home party", because she will leave the US on Wednesday, after a succesfull Au Pair year. So we had dinner together in a beautiful restaurant. The evening was so nice but it had something bad... I tell you.. We were so scary, I never had this feeling before.
After dinner (approx. 9:30 pm) we wanted to go to the Charles River because it's so nice there. But it wasn't a good idea.
Well, we had to walk over a bridge (a small bridge over a big street) and it was so dark there. We walked and suddenly we saw a person, sitting in the corner. He looks scary but we walked further and suddenly he looked at us and began to scream. So loudly! And then he stood up. We turned quickly around and ran back down the bridge.
I never ran so fast before *lol*
It was so scary. We all thought: Welcome to the reality in America. Wow... it was really scary.

But I don't speak it fluently. I have to say that I'm better in writing *lol* I can think about the phrase longer then when I say it *lol* So it happens sometimes here, that I don't understand some people who talk to fast or doesn't speak clearly *lol*

*lol* You're welcome.
Yeah I understand it clearly. Sure, I don't understand every word but I can imagine what it means *lol* And sometimes it's hard, if perps speak really fast or if they mumble. But normaly, I understand quite everything. The best thing is, when Liv or Elliot speak with a child *loool* Because they speak then really clearly and slowly *lol*
But I can't watch SVU *cry* because my host family don't have a TV -.-

It must be fun watching SVU in a different language. At most, I just put on French subtitles if I feel that I'm getting rusty. But since English has always been my first language... I guess I take it for granted. tongue.gif

I can't wait till September...

Not only do I get new SVU episodes, but I am going to New York City, seeing Martina McBride, and going to an autograph signing for some wrestlers.

I love that city. It's so amazing. I just wish I could head up during the week to try to stalk the SVU set, haha.
