Charges Filed Against Jerry Lawler

Charges were filed against Jerry Lawler this morning due to an incident at Sam’s Town last Friday night. Jerry Lawler allegedly punched “The Big Cheese” Sal Corrente a number of times and then yelled, “You stupid mother fracker, don't you ever hit a fan.” Lawler believed that Sal, who had been hit by a fan, had retaliated and hit the fan back.

Things are not looking very good for Jerry "The King" Lawler, as he was officially served with court papers that state that assault charges have been filed against him by one Sal Corrente.

As it stands now, Lawler will have to make a court appearance on August 1st to answer the charges. We will keep you updated on this situation as more information is released.

Pro Wrestler Jerry Lawler was found not guilty in a Tunica, MS court today, August 1, 2007.

Lawler was facing charges stemming from a wrestling match with a fellow wrestler known as “The Big Cheese”. Sal Corrente, “The Big Cheese”, says Lawler hit him three times during the match because of a scuffle with a fan in the front row.

Lawler says there was nothing unusual about what happened. Lawler says it was part of the show and all wrestlers sign liability waivers. Corrente would not comment. His lawyer says he is upset with the judges decision.

Jerry "The King" Lawler was found Not Guilty on charges of assault that were filed against him for an incident at a Memphis wrestling show on June 15th, 2007.

The court denied Sal Corrente's request for a continuance. He has an option to appeal the case and at the moment no official comment is available from him.
