Hey guys, wrestlemag.com sends their thoughts on the Supplemental Draft Lottery Pick.
Here's the story:
WWE: A LOOK AT TODAY’S SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT PICKS
by Mike Siciliano
17 June 2007, 4:37 pm EST
WWE’s supplemental draft ended a short time ago. Time to take a look through them all, one by one:
Paul London & Brian Kendrick drafted as a unit with the 1st pick to Monday Night Raw
What’s there to be said? Smackdown got raided again, and Raw is the winner, big time. London & Kendrick did not seem poised in any way to re-challenge for the WWE Tag Team titles and the Untouchables, so the natural selection of them to another brand was inevitable. Forutunately for the former champs, it was to a brand with an established tag team title, and I would be very concerned if I was Cade & Murdoch, because these guys will fly over their heads like a couple of MiG-28s. It will be very interesting to watch. Smackdown’s loss is Raw’s gain, AGAIN.
Kenny drafted with the 2nd pick to Friday Night Smackdown
As the blossoming team of Nitro and Kenny were beginning to give the Hardy Boys fits, WWE sees fit to break up this potentially intense rivalry and send Kenny packing for friday nights. I could see Kenny working his way up with MVP to form a formidable tag team of cocky, up and coming, young superstars with a plethora of potential. I could also see Kenny work his way in to the world title picture down the road, a long way down the road, but without Edge as the champion. For the time being, Kenny does get a new lease on life, but frankly, I would think, and hope, he takes full advantage of it.
Viscera drafted #3 to ECW
Um, Extreme Expose just became an appetizer. The World’s Most Extreme Love Machine, (did I just say that?) is going to give Brooke, Layla, and Kelly a lot of headaches over the next few weeks. Outside of that, I don’t see Viscera making a major impact in ECW. He fits the “freak” factor to a T, but I don’t see him in a title picture in the forseeable future. In short, I think his time in the company as a whole may be short lived.
The Sandman drafted #4 to Monday Night Raw
Ok, here’s where things get weird. Now, call me a traditionalist fool, but does WWE really want to parade an ECW Original on another brand? It makes zero sense to me. While Sandman ANYWHERE would be entertaining to watch, the best place to put him is on the brand he is most well known for. However, I do believe that his time on ECW is/was/ and still would be severely limited just strictly to the television time slot, so perhaps the move to monday nights for the Hardcore Icon may be a blessing in disguise. Personally, I don’t see it. I think this is the beginning of the end for the Sandman in WWE. He’s going to get one whiff of the politics on Monday night, and run for the nearest exit screaming and throwing furniture in his wake.
Hardcore Holly drafted #5 to Friday Night Smackdown
The consummate loyalist. While he is also tailor made for ECW, he would be and could be a viable addition back to Smackdown to give the US champion a run for his money. I would’ve thought a run at the ECW world title was in Holly’s future, but perhaps the injury factor played a role in the decision to send him back to the blue and white. We’ll never know. Is he a good fit for Smackdown? Sure. Is he the ‘perfect fit’, ala London and Kendrick on Raw? Not a chance.
The Miz drafted to ECW with pick #6
Somewhere on the corporate jet, John Bradshaw Layfield is smiling like a chesire cat. His nemesis, his bane of existence is gone from friday nights. In this case for Smackdown, this is addition by subtraction. Miz does not seem to have a role within the company period, and I would be stunned if he is even remotely involved in a title situation in the near future, especially in the title barren wasteland of ECW. Personally, Miz is a backstage diva interviewer in a male’s body, but that’s just one man’s opinion.
Daivari drafted to Monday Night Raw with the 7th pick
A cruiserweight leaving Smackdown is absolute death. Anyplace else in the company is just dangerous for anyone under the heavyweight weight limit, and this is no different for Khosrow “Shawn” Daivari. I don’t see much of anything in his future, maybe a brief stint with the Champ, just to rekindle old flames, but personally, this is another one on borrowed time in the company as a whole, I think.
The Major Brothers drafted as a unit to Friday Night Smackdown with pick #8
A needed pick for Friday Nights with the loss of London and Kendrick, they are replaced by the newcomers. Can the Majors take over where London and Kendrick left off? It’s a good question, and an intriguing one, and one I am looking forward to investigating personally over the coming months.
William Regal to Raw with the 9th draft pick
This one makes zero sense. Regal and Taylor were the British Bulldogs of the present age. They were champions uncrowned as far as I could see. They are an OUTSTANDING tag team unit, but Regal wanted out and to return to singles competition. So, in the midst of all that, Regal returns to Raw. He is a midcard title contender just by walking in the door, but I really believed he had a viable shot to unseat the WWE tag team champions back on Smackdown. It’s a mystery where he goes from here.
Victoria drafted to Smackdown with the 10th pick
This is a shame. An absolute shame. One of the few pure women’s wrestlers in the entire roster has been reduced to going to friday nights and torturing women who, while they may be hotter than a molten volcano, can’t wrestle to save their lives. Victoria felt she was being overlooked on Raw, and frankly, with this pick, I believe she was right. Now, she’s doomed to a life of mediocrity in a non-existent division. I feel badly for her.
Jillian Hall to Raw with pick #11
If Jillian shuts up and competes, we’ll see where this goes. I don’t see her challenging for the title until Melina drops it, but it appears Candice is en route to a women’s title win, and Jillian would probably be #1 in line to get the next chance. She’s not on the same skill level as Victoria, but she’s not as green as others in the diva locker room. It’s a decent pick, but I would’ve stayed with the vicious vixxen. But that’s just my opinion.
Eugene picked by Smackdown with the 12th pick
What’s to say about Eugene? He has been nothing short of a comedic joke in WWE since his brief run as a tag champ with Regal. As it looked like Regal and Eugene could reunite for a shot at Cade & Murdoch, those hopes were dashed in the span of two hours. Now, Eugene goes to Smackdown and from there, God knows. I certainly don’t. This is the Eric Young of WWE, and it’s sad. It was a good gimmick to begin with, although I didn’t like it initially, but now, it’s just plain sad to see. Nick Dinsmore should be looking for work elsewhere, I think.
Johnny Nitro picked with the last pick to ECW
How ticked off is the women’s champion going to be? Her boyfriend is off the road with her, and sent over to the other side to ECW. While I could definitely see some nice matches with Nitro and CM Punk, I would have to believe this pick is a punishment to both Nitro and Melina for the unwritten rule of no fratenizing to the point of ad nauseum, as it appears they have done during their time on Raw. Could Nitro be a world title contender? Possibly. But, it’s a long way away. That is a guarantee.

Well guys, please tell me what do you make of all of this.

Hi Bubba here, I read most of this last night and I agree to a point. This draft, mainly The Supplemental Draft, was a bust IMO.

I think the reason for Jillian going to raw was because Victoria went to smackdown. Maybe they wanted someone new to help Michelle get better. But Jillian is a great wrestler! I am trying to get that threw to everybody. If u don't believe me then fine! I have faith in her like i did Trish, and like i do Candice. Jillian will win the womens title soon, its only a matter of time before Melina loses it to Candice, then Candice and Jillian feud..........trust me.

Dude
stop with the diva posts. We get the picture you like jillian okay. This is about the draft not about the damn diva's and the damn women's division which is dead and should just be put away. Anyways i agree with what wrestlingmag said for the most part. I thought they went a little easy on the draft.

Its not fine. Nobody wants to watch Diva matches besides you. Ever since the two best divas imo ever left (lita and trish) the womens division has been in the s hitter. Show me one good diva match since Lita and Trish left. There is none.

Hey Tornado DDT, the only Divas Matches that I like best are when VICTORIA, Trish, Lita, Molly, Ivory, Jazz, Gail Kim, Jackie Moore and other REAL talented Divas were on there, and I have SOME of the matches on DVD, but I can't STAND Bra & Panties Matches.
But now, ever since Trish, Lita, Stacy and others have left and now that Gail Kim, Jackie Moore, Christy Hemme and some are in TNA and others waiting @ the right moment to come, the WWE Women's Division has become TERRIBLE, especially on RAW, b/c Victoria has become a jobber on RAW and now that she's on SD! I HOPE that she finds new life there and also, Mickie James has become the next Trish Stratus and it's WWE's fault not hers, and also Melina is a TERRIBLE Champion.

Actually, on the 6/18/07 episode of raw tha match was Jillian & Melina v.s. Candice & Mickie. The match was longer than normal diva matches, and the crowd was really going, especially at the end when Melina did that wrestling move with the splits, this match was one of the best diva matches i've seen since Trish & Lita left. I'll admit it, the womens division won't be the same without Trish & Lita, but that tag match was really good. Not just because it was Mickie's hometown, because Mickie was only in the match at one time, there was alot of reactions from the fans.

Actually Amy Dumas is NOT FULLY retired from the WWE, she is STILL wrestling, but only in the Independent Scenes, that whole retirement thing was just a way for her to get out of the WWE.
and besides, she still wrestles in the UWF and Maryland Championship Wrestling.

No problem, and also, the reason I think that Lita wasn't getting her props was simply b/c Vince McMahon has RUINED her career by making her look trashy, forced to have LIVE SEX on LIVE TV and also, get disrespected in front of the fans in Philly where she started wrestling for the OLD ECW, not that RIPOFF WWE Version.
and also, I WOULD NOT be surprised if Lita jumps ship to TNA whenever she's reday to comeback to the ring as well.
Maybe Gail Kim and Christy Hemme can try to convince her otherwise to come.

Well here's something surprising I read 2 years ago:
Lita said that she wanted a release from the WWE, but then she decided to stay w/the WWE, I guess b/c she wanted to entertain the fans.
But, as far as her going to TNA, NEVER SAY NEVER!
and plus, Amy Dumas said that she needed a break, but she'll decide whether she goes to TNA and also, I would LOVE for her to do her own shoot promo on how she felt about the WWE and how she was forced to do all that DISGUSTING GARBAGE.

Well it has to suck to be one of the most beloved diva's ever to becoming a person the fans love to hate in a matter of days. She never had to do anything though that she didn't want to do. I for one would need a break if my personal life was to be played ou ton national television.

Well here's something guys:
Gail Kim said in an interview about Lita's Private Life exposed on TV, she said that it was TERRIBLE for what the WWE is doing to Lita and she also said that she would NEVER have her Private Life Exposed on TV.
Can you blame her for that and do you agree w/that as well?
