Hi Bubba here, what did everyone think of tonight's episode?

I loved EVERY minute of it and I plan to tape the later showing and watch it AGAIN!!!
The other characters were more interesting to me tonight than Molly - loved Lavender's Grandma.... but Molly had her moments.
And no, I don't think it was Sam's fault whats-er-name drove off and hit a tree.... but I think he was fierce because maybe when he said he killed a man - it was vehicular manslaughter while he was driving drunk????

I really enjoyed tonight's episode, as a whole. I enjoyed mostly all of Molly's scenes and I really enjoyed Lavender's grandmother. I absolutely love Lou, so I'm super glad that he's NOT dead and is actually faking his own suicide. Although, I'd actually like to see him with Molly instead of going off somewhere to pretend he's not Lou. Hopefully his plot is thwarted and he's brought back to date Molly.
However, with that said there are a few things that bothered me in this episode. Like Shoshanna (sp?) and Sam. I don't feel like the people who play them are that great at doing their jobs, to be honest. The guy who plays Sam is so robotic in his delivery that it really takes away from the scene. He's supposed to be playing a laid back, relaxed kind of guy but the way he delivers it is just...not that. And the chick who plays Shoshanna is an awful actress too.
I feel like, if they were going to put a couple of relatively unknowns next to the likes of Debra Messing and Joe Mantegna, they should've made sure that the talent was there before they did so. And aside from that it seems like all relationships are progressing at light speed.
Cricket, though I love her, also really bothered me too. She took her husband back way to quickly. It wasn't THAT long ago that he was banging the nanny in the hot tub. He sings her a silly song and poof! She forgives him and he's out of the dog house. I get that she has faith in him, but wouldn't that faith be easily shaken after an indiscretion like that is revealed?

I laughed at the United 93 comment that Molly made to her ex. I also got a kick out of the scene with Cricket in bed reading all of the books about infidelity and highlighting everything. It's annoying that she took her husband back so quickly, but I don't think everything's going to be fine. I think she will slowly exact her revenge in subtle ways and that they'll eventually break up. Did I hallucinate the scene in the previews for next week where it shows her getting frisky on a couch with what looked like that slimy real estate agent? And I can't even express how happy I am that Lou is alive.

Hey Guys!
I'm loving this show but would much rather something happen with Lou who is 100 times sexier than Sam! Same is not that hot and gives me the ooglies...and it is kind of gross how she is liking him...am I the only one thinking this?
I hate to say this too because I know it is going to come out all wrong and just terrible but I really wish they would have chosen a different actress for Joans character...someone a little younger and easier on the eyes maybe?
I also hate that Cricket took her cheating husband back...I'm glad she gets revenge in the next episode and hope she follows through with the payback with the cheesy real estate agent. Death to all cheating hubby's! I'd never take one back, that is for sure.
Can't wait to see what happens next and am so glad they came up with something fun for the boring summer! I'll watch anything with Debra Messing!

I love Sam, I totally see why Molley is so into him, he is hot despite the fact he is homeless. He can cohapitate with me any time. I agree that Cricket took her husband back way too easily. Grant it it may not be all wine and roses maybe she does have plans to get back at him. I knew Lou was not dead, in last weeks TV Guide it gave a picture of Joe being made up in drag, I think it is too attend his own wake. I don't think Joan should be younger, remember she told Molly that she should of waitied until she was 40 to marry like she did. so they had to get an older actress, beside she looks like someone who has been drinking a long time. You can not make having a problem drinking glamourous. I don't like how Cricket dumped Molly just so her husband can have his deal. REAL friends stick buy each other. I can't wait untl thursday's show.

That United 93 comment WAS hysterical and the way Debra delivered the line was perfect.
As for as Shoshanna and Kenny - I think they are supposed to come across as shallow and self-centered. I do agree the Sam guy looks good but he DOES deliver his lines awkwardly at times.
I SO wish this would be a lot longer show than 6 episodes, sigh!

You should have gone with your first instinct and NOT said/posted it. There is no way this comment could NOT sound wrong. "Easier on the eyes???" Gimme a break!

Yes it does come out all wrong. FYI: There's an article in the showbiz trade paper Variety about "The Starter Wife"... says Debra Messing had cast approval for all supporting characters in the miniseries. Messing is the one who suggested Judy Davis for the part of Joan. Another newspaper article said (Messing) got very involved in the casting of supporting roles."I didn't want to neuter this by turning it into a soap opera, and it could have so easily gone that route," she says. "The casting of it could have gone that way. You could cast in such a way that you would be in a different world than a world inhabited by people like Judy Davis."

I loved that scene with Cricket underlining everything and the stack of books, plus Molly's United 93 comment, too! I think that the whole cast is great and enjoy every single moment of the show! I'm hoping that Molly either goes off on her own or hooks up with Lou!
Does anyone know if USA is going to re-air the show from the beginning? I have many friends interested in seeing it now, but when they try to watch it (as of last week), they don't know what is going on and lose interest. I keep telling them that they need to see it from the beginning!
