so i'm watching the new video posts by segan, piller, and new showrunner scott sheperd (he used to produce equalizer)

to me, it seems that they were talking about everyone except bruce! they just mention "the whole cast is back..."

we all know that bruce contemplates getting another job for money reasons this season!? (which they didn't even mention)

and from reading a lot of posts, no one wants bruce gone.

as an avid viewer, fan, it would kill me to see bruce leave... it would make ZION useless. sure, the evil johnny may resonate... (and they could've kept FUTURE JOHNNY)

they just can't let him go!!

plus, no main minority characters.

who agrees?

i have more to say... but so so tired.

Well, it won't make ZION useless. Because if he din't meet Bruce Johnny would of tryed to shot and kill Stillson way back in Season 2 and got killed. I hope Bruce don't die. It does say somone will die and it will change Johnnys life forever. Hmmm.

I noticed the same thing in the production interviews. I really love the John/Bruce dynamic and I think it has grown to be the most important relationship in John's life. Much more so than John's relationship with Sarah. That feels like a dragging down of the character whereas Bruce is always there to give John a different perspective and support without any sort of strings. Losing his friendship will definitely darken John's personality. He already needs a good woman and if Bruce dies he'll need a best friend. *sigh* Never mind that I will miss JLA immensely as he is a fine and very funny actor.

I can't speak to the minority aspect except to say that Bruce seems like a positive role model for young men. He is intelligent, funny, successful and spiritual-very well rounded.

that's exactly why JLA needs to stay!!!!

I just watched a Day in the Life of JLA... or something among those lines on the Season 5 DVD, and he seems like such a fun and amazing guy. I couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire 15 minutes of the clip... Not to mention his character is hilarious and the relationship that he has with Johnny is growing so much more wih each episode. I really hope he is not the one to go, though I have fallen in love with everyone part of the original cast, and I'd hate to see anyone go. sad.gif Oye. This is not cool.

Bruce's death may be an eventuality in the Armageddon timeline (and will be if FJ's warning is true) but I hope it is not now. I hope Bruce goes to for a bit but comes back with a new back story to add to the mix. A new resource for John perhaps? A business? An organization independent of Faith Heritage? I believe what Bruce should play a role in the Armageddon arc that was spoken of in "Zion", to protect John. It just may be that his character needs to leave for awhile but not for good. To me it's too soon for Bruce to die. But I do hope for a bit of a darker element and it sounds like it may happen from what I've been reading on the boards.

yes, his character should be distant from john for a bit!!!

but i really, really, really think the writers are taking a big misstep if bruce is not there for john. and vice versa. it just feels everything is a waste of time to me if that happens.

the severity of everything in zion, the storm... basically all the bruce/john episodes... what else, yes. shadows!!! another favorite of mine.

couldn't have they thought of something else... all of a sudden bruce is looking for another job? were they just reaching? we'll know sunday.

It's possible that reality and not story needs dictated what will happen to Bruce. This show has been out of production since fall of 2005. A year and a half is a long time. JLA may have other committments-assuming he is leaving the show. The same goes for Chris Bruno or any other actor that might be written out.

Gods is it Sunday yet!

I agree that to killing any one but those behind that creep Janus, would be a big mistake! Sweet Mercy Don't Write out Walt , or Sarah Either!

I don't think it's Bruce...

Why make the storyline about Bruce "thinking about taking the job offer in another state, but not wanting to leave John" - then only to kill him off

It's no secret, that i, myself would like to see the more *darker* Johnny Smith.
With the tragedy comeing in the premiere, and then couple that with Bruce {possibly} 'distant from John' for some time
May just be - what push John to darkness.

Don't forget the ending to 'The Hunting Party' and how that can work itself out - now that we pick up. 5-6 months later in story-time.

I dont think they will kill Bruce because theyre sidekicks and everyone loves their relationship and it would be a great loss for the show... though Bruce dying could be a catalyst that might really make somethin huge happen in this show... but i still dont think he will be killed....
