I found out that Zac WOULD be in town for Fan Fair, so I tried to make a way to be able to see him, at least once. I discovered that he'd be playing at the "Plaza Stage" Friday @ 4:30. Since I only work about 10 minutes from downtown, I figured I'd just work through my lunch and leave early instead... at 4... However, I didn't get to leave til almost 4:15 and went into "auto pilot"... so I ended up taking "the long way" we'll call it... hehehe... I pulled up alongside where Zac was playing and could hear "Get Your Love On", which, ironically I'd just been playing in my car on the way there. Hehe..
But... by the time I was able to find a parking spot and get over to the stage, Zac was done playing. *pout* *pout* I hate these super short sets... and it's only going to be that way for the entire NS Tour, so I guess I better get used to it... at least for now, anyway. The GOOD news, however, is that when I got there, he was just coming out for the Meet and Greets... so it wasn't a complete waste. I decided to just kinda hang back and let everyone fawn over him... It really is kinda fun/entertaining watching everyone. Hehe...
Apparently, I looked somewhat 'official', because several people asked me (something/anything) about him... but the one that floored me most was the woman who asked me "Is that Tracy Byrd?" *giggle* Excuse me?? LOL! Whatever... anyway, I told her no... and continued to explain who he was. She had no clue, kinda shrugged it off, and started to walk off. I didn't let that happen... I convinced her that he was really good and she should take the time to at least say hi, maybe get a pic. She did... and afterward, she even thanked me "He was really nice". She kinda said something about Nashville Star and "the winner... that's the brother, right?" I chuckled and said "Yeah. That's the brother" I guess it was all starting (yes, STARTING) to come back to her, since just a moment before, she had no idea what I was talking about. A gentleman was with her, and he seemed to know a little more about it... kinda/sorta chimed in a bit... and they both walked off, seemingly happy.
Shortly after that, Zac kinda looked up to survey the crowd... see how many were left, etc... In doing so, he saw me just standing calmly by... and did the "I saw someone I recognize" double-take, made eye contact with me and smiled, while saying "OH HI!" Needless to say, that put a smile on my face. Ironically, I DIDN'T look around to see if anyone was looking at me to see if I was a "somebody" or not... I figured, given the circumstances, I probably WOULD look around... even if for nothing else but to gloat. *giggle*
*shrug*
Oh well... I was just glad he saw me and actually SMILED! Hehe... I did get to talk to him after he was done with everyone else, too... so that was pretty cool. I talked to him for a good couple of minutes, too... so at least it wasn't just a rushed conversation. He apologized at one point, cuz he "can't even THINK right now..." he's got "so much going on!" I said "what? It's not like you're busy or anything!"
LOL!
Yeah, I know... I've always had a way with words. *giggle* Oh, if you only knew...
