So like last night, I really needed a beta reader for my new story, but I couldn't find one before I wanted to submit it, so I just let someone on myspace read it through, and it ended up getting rejected for grammatical errors. So I thought it would be good to have a beta reader index for the board, so people can find betas when they need them. So basically, if you want to volunteer to be a beta reader, just post your first name and email address on here so people can send you a story if they need you, and I'll put you on a list on this post. [I seriously wish I had a better explanation, but I think everyone gets it.] Please also read the definition of a beta reader below before you add your name.

A beta-reader (beta) is like a beta-tester for software. They go through a piece of fan fiction to find the "bugs" in it, and see if it works. For some people, it's just a proofreader, but it's often more (or different) than that. Different beta readers tend to look for different things.

well, since school is offically out tomorrow, and the job interview that I had today pretty much sucked, I think I should have a LOT of time of my hands. I'm pretty good at the grammatical part. Telling people that they to change parts of the story to fit my idea, not so much. So, if anyone would like me to be a grammatical beta read, i'm free.
