I was very glad to see that USA didn't shy away from Debra Messing's character, Molly having one of her best friends be gay. I could see since this is her first show after Will & Grace, that a network may not want to relate her to having friendships with gay men. Her relationship with Rodney is very different since her character and this guy's character are so very different from Will & Grace. I think it works very well and the characters have been set up very well in the premier.
