Full Version: Breaking News Rob Van Dam Given Early Release

Rob Van Dam macth with Snitsky on Tuesday could have very well been his lat match ever in the wwe. Wade Keller of the pro wrestling Torch is reporting that RVD is officially done with World wrestling Entertainment as of last Wednesday. WWE felf that keeping RVD around and burying him on tv was not worth it and it was better to get him off tv as soon as possible.

His contract wasn't going to expire until late June at the earliest, but WWE officials cut that short because RVD said he would not re-sign with them and they had nothing for him until then. Despite the early release, RVD has no-compete clause, and thus he can't show up in TNA next week for instance.

He is expected to sign with TNA after a long deserved summer break. If and when he joins TNA, it will probably be September at the earliest. TNA is trying to land a two hour slot for the fall season on Spike, so if they end up getting it they'll probabla hold him off for the two hour show's debut

Hehehe, well I knew of RVD's failed contract renewal, but when Sabu got released, I knew RVD would be out the door immediately.

I mean those guys are seriously tight, and both of them, along with Tommy Dreamer have really dogged McMahon's revival of ECW, and this was before Vince's title win.

If I remember it was Dreamer who said something like, "during the original ECW days we weren't getting paid, but we were having fun. Now, we're getting paid, but not having any fun".

It was pretty much the most obvious thing ever. I always said that RVD was going to tna and i believed he would after he got back from his suspension and was not pushed for anything. RVD will do great in tna and will bring a few more ecw fans in to tna. Heres to the release of the rest of the Old Breed.

I believe I heard that Sandman's the next to leave. They would be good for TNA....
