Hi Bubba here, I thought we could use this thread to get to you each other better here and talk about non Dead Zone things. I'm a newcomer to The Dead Zone and liked what I seen so far. I watching a dvd of NYPD Blue tonight and saw AMH playing the role of a bad guy, I gotta say I like him better as Johnny than the other character.

I prefer AMH playing out sweet John Smith but he has the talent-the intensity-to play very good villians. Very cold. We see that in episodes where John has slipped into other characters and I'm always impressed with what he chooses to do with the part.

I think this thread is a good idea Bubba but I would not be surprised if DZ topics creep in and out of here LOL. How long have you been a part of the fandom? I'm coming up on 2 years at the end of this month.

I'm a fairly new fan too, started watching in October/november last year. Caught one ep of DZ and bought season 1-2 on Dutch DVD straight away. Then when I watched those in 1 weekend (talk about a DZ marathon) I wanted more and was stunned and very dissapointed to learn that on the US DVD's there was a ton of extra's and on the Dutch DVD's none, zilch, zero. So I ordered season 1-4 on US DVD in one go at cd-wow.

Other shows I like and watch on a regular basis are Ghost Whisperer, Bones, Criminal Minds and House.

We have a fairly limited viewership in our house. Quality TV is hard to come by and some of the shows we love have either been canceled or evolved to a point where we still watch but don't love the way we used to.

Monday-24, which needs some serious help this year. I watched Drive too because I am a fan of Nathan Fillion-another very underrated actor.
Tuesday-NCIS, The Unit, Boston Legal. The husband watches The Unit and is not as interested as he was last season
Wednesday-Thank God You're Here looks funny but I've only caught it once and I'm guessing it won't last.
Thursday-Nothing
Friday-Stargate Atlantis. I was a huge fan of Stargate until Richard Dean Anderson left the series and the writing went sour. It was getting wobbly before his departure but afterwards Oy!
Saturday-Nothing
Sunday-Battlestar Galactica in season. The 4400, which is kind of like watching a train wreck IMO. You just can't look away despite the mess. The Dead Zone.

I used to watch Medium mainly because I love the relationship between the couple on the show. Poor Joe having to live with her wacky dreams. It got too strange so I tuned out. I'm with Michael Hall regarding Ghost Whisperer: It's DZ with t***s . Michael said he would watch Jennifer Love Hewitt over himself too and that cracked me up. All of the copies of DZ that have come up have really ticked me off. DZ is the little engine that could and it seems like everyone is looking at the big flash in the pan shows on network and forgetting cable. Ah well, a lament for another time I suppose.

I was also a big fan of ER for a long time and Cold Case for it's first three years. I've never been into crime dramas like Law and Order or CSI franchises. Back in the day I loved some of the cheese like Airwolf and MacGyver and I was-and still am-a big fan of MASH. I love a show that gets you thinking, which is why I love DZ smile.gif
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, ...

DD4me2 - I just got season four recently too. Haven't got into yet. I like House also.

Ruralstar - I know what you mean about cancelled television shows. They put something on you like and then they take it off.

Sunday-Battlestar Galactica in season.

I have to admit I don't really enjoy much science fiction (or at least what I think of when I think of science fiction....what is considered science fiction I'm finding out doesn't make much sense to me and is not anywhere as specific as I tend to think), but I gave Battlestar Galactica a chance a couple months ago because so many people were raving about it. Wow. That is a seriously good show. At least the first two seasons were...I have avoided anything having to do with the 3rd so I'll just wait until the DVDs come out and watch it then.

As far as other stuff I watch, I feel like I'm in between shows lately. I used to love House, but not so much anymore. Prison Break was great the first season, this season was generally awful and I don't think I'll watch it next season. I stopped watching ER last year, it was just getting too over the top (there's something to be said about ending when you're still good rather than going on and on...). Law and Order: Criminal Intent is another favorite of mine, SVU is good too, but I prefer Criminal Intent. Oh and Project Runway and Top Chef are addictions of mine. I've never watched reality tv until those two shows. Sadly once we don't get Bravo up here so I won't be able to watch those anymore. Oh and Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs.

As far as stuff that isn't on anymore: Six Feet Under, Freaks and Geeks, The Office (British), haha and my other wise secret love for Quantum Leap and Wings. Goodness I love Wings, I can't explain it. Haha.

I started watching The Dead Zone the first night it started. I can remember I watched it when they reran it at midnight or whenever it was because I couldn't sleep.
OgieGirl
I'm a hard core MASH fan since 1972, I also watch alot of Court TV, Till Death Do Us Part is a great show tongue.gif
LynMichel
I think I seriously started watching the DZ in S3. Before that I would watch it on and off. When I first started watching the DZ I couldn't believe it was the same AMH from Wierd Science. That sorta piqued my interest. rolleyes.gif Now I have all the DVDs.

Some of my fave all time TV shows are LFN, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly. I agree with whoever said Nathion Fillion is underrated as an actor. He was so good first in Buffy and then Firefly. MASH is in a category all by itself.

Monday night is 'Two and a Half Men'. Charlie Sheen living his life on TV. tongue.gif
Tuesday night is NCIS and The Unit. Of late I think The Unit is better then NCIS.
Wednesday night is Criminal Minds. I hope there are not too many people out there like they show on that TV show.
Thursday is sometimes CSI and then watching a taped Shark. I get up early for work so Shark is too late for me. James Woods makes that show.
Friday is Ghost Whisperer. Which I can't really decide whether I like or not.
Sunday night is a busy VCR night at times. I'm a big Battlestar Galactica fan. Then there's Without a Trace with Anthoony Pagalia. And finally Blood Ties a new vampire show on Lifetime.

Happy Mother's Day! I've got a 19 and 20 year old. We're just hanging around the house today. I bought my own gift which was a new outfit for my daughter's boyfriend's college graduation the past weekend. Hubby has a big steak dinner on the grill planned for the evening. smile.gif

Hope everyone has a great day!

Since we don't have a fan material sub folder I'll toss this little announcement into this thread. My friend Marimba26 has finally finished revamping the DZ portion of her video hosting site. All of my vids, one by Silversi, three by Brattytxn, five by Nobody78 and one by Cyb are all hosted on the site and available for download. Marimba26 also has material from a variety of fandoms and vid creators, including all of her own work which is excellent. Have a look if you enjoy fanvids and drop her a line.

The man certainly has diverse interests. I just hope he has more success with this endeavor than his foray into series television. I really tried to watch Kingdom Hospital but it was just beyond bizarre.
OgieGirl
I couldn't get into Kingdom Hospital either.

Hope Spuddy/Vup pops in here, she made the best videos, she could add them to your friends site and we'd have

Hi Bubba here, just ten days left until the season premiere.
Ruralstar
I wasn't sure where to post this tidbit so I'll pull this thread up.

Yesterday I was in our local country store. I spent quite a long time chatting with various aquaintences and a short while before I left this couple walked in. The gentleman is a retired actor/producer who worked on the series Coach among other things. I own a horse and they live near my home and pass by where he is pastured on a daily basis. We started discussing horses and the gentleman mentioned Saratoga NY and said he had filmed a movie there a long time ago and was very impressed by the horses and so forth. I mentioned that I almost traveled there to watch Michael Hall film "Aftermath" in 2005 but circumstances didn't work out. The gentleman's wife told me that she had worked with Mercedes Hall back in the early 70s in NYC. She remembers Michael as a child coming in to work with his mother. Needless to say I almost fell out of my chair in surprise.

They are a very nice couple and I hope to run into them again. If I get the chance I will get their last name and see if Mercedes remembers her. Talk about your small world!

This is nothing like Ruralstar's story, but just something interesting about Stephen King. I bought a Psychology Today magazine to read on the plane to visit my parents and there was a story about Hypergraphia, the compulsion to write. They gave a list of famous people who suffer from this and they listed Stephen King.
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, one more day left. Nice story Ruralstar. smile.gif Thanks for information brattytxn.

Thats neat how Stephen King took a problem/compulsion (for lack of a better word) and turned it into a great thing smile.gif

Happy Fathers Day xox

Happy father's day to the father's here, (and fur-fathers too - Paw paws)

I enjoy very little of what's offered in television programming here. History Channel, Animal Planet - and USA network during the summer, is where i can most be found.
I don't really enjoy shows like Survivor, Lost, American Idol, top model, think you can dance, most talented and that set.
Some Monk episodes i watched, never caught enough 4400 to get *hooked* (and it's personally hard for me to sit still for films - thank god for DVD pause buttons)
But - i get revived when season dvd's come out and new seasons start for The Dead Zone.

Read the original Stephen King story after the end of last season. Then tracked, hunted and found the film when it was re-released.
While reading the book, it was hard not to see *our* Johnny, our Sara, in the action.
For the film - although Christopher Walken was suitably creepey for the book to film adaption - I prefer the direction the series is and like AMH's Johnny Smith the best.

Does anyone own the DVD sets? Does second season have subtitles?

Can't remember, but you might try turning on the closed caption option on your TV to see if that will help with the getting the words on screen.

I should be sleeping, but hey, that's what the car ride is for tomorrow, lol...

Okay, so this is kind of off-topic and kind of on-topic, so I'll post it here...

I was on the "On The Lot" website, and I just started watching some viewers submissions of films. I don't really know if voting time has passed or if they are actually going to make a movie out of them, but someone I knew from school posted a video so I started checking out others while I was at it.

I landed up finding a very interesting one called "The Rocket Man" or something, and Connor Price was in it. It's a really cool clip and is totally worth checking out.

This is the summary:

"10 year old Benji Ferrace considers himself prisoner in his household. One day, he accompanies his father to work. There he makes his most surprising discovery to date...an actual captive under his father’s rule."

Plus, I just adore Connor's acting. He's really good for as young as he is.

Here's the link:

The Rocket Man

Okay, NOW I'm off to bed... I think.

I know that I posted this in the discussion thread, but a little more FYI.
My youngest son is in the band Throughyou. The band is currently on tour with Korn and Evanescense. There first tour date was Friday in St. Louis, MO. They will be performing in Chicago tonite and in Toronto on Tuesday. If you get a chance to go to the concert look for the Sandy brown haired young man playing the bass. He also sings backup with his barotone voice. If I didn't mention for all the ladies, he is really cute too besides being very talented.
I have had the opportunity to listen to their music and it is great!

I really liked it; despite the fact that I do like John and Sarah together, and it ends with him walking away *sniff*. I don't know why; I guess I'm just a sucker for boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy has second chance, boy gets girl, kind of thing, lol. The clips worked well with the song as well, and I love Rascal Flatts especially that song. Awesome job!

Btw, I know this was season 6, but I was wondering if you use a DVD ripper to video get the other season's clips? I've been trying to find a good one, but I can't seem to find one that is free that works well. Would you happen to know of a good one... I am tempted to make a DZ music video to accompany my other television music videos on youtube. wink.gif
