Too funny GF! I read on 'The Reel Vincent D'Onofrio' that they plan on showing the shows Monday and Tuesday. (For the next two weeks.)
I could use a VDO fix right now....instead, I'm watching 'CourtTV' on Forensic Science.

I'm happy they're putting it on Monday night but not understanding why they're putting it on Tuesday also. This may split some viewers and mess up the ratings a bit.

Well, from the excerpt I read, this is the push for the rating sweeps. They plan on taking off the Wedding Crashers to make room for CI (Monday). I am going to guess that they are keeping it on Tuesday (imho) to catch the viewers who miss it on Monday. Maybe, they are feeling out Monday for next season?????

But if it's only on Monday night, then you have to watch it Monday. If there's a choice, there will be a couple of million who will watch it Tuesday who will be absent from ratings Monday. We need every cave dwelling Nielson family to watch it Monday. (Did I even make sense here?).

If CI would air on NBC on Sunday, Bravo would change it's airing of CI to another day. USA and BRAVO never air CI and SVU when NBC is airing them.

Yeah I kind of figured that too. I like having the Sunday night Bravo deal though. Keep that and put CI on Mondays. There's nothing good on Mondays anyway! And put it on at 10! That way I am always home from work, even if I close.
I love how we all are basing our decision on what night works best for us instead of when the ratings would be the best!

Although I voted for Sunday, I kind of agree with you and Monday would do fine. There's nothing else to watch then and I so want CI to be on at 10PM. It's not a 9 o'clock show!

All shws should be on at 10! I'm never home until then. Okay, that's me being selfish again...but seriously. The only show I regularly watch that's on at 10 is Lost, and it's so nice to not have to set my VCR every week cause I'll be at work or yoga or trying to run errands.

Where did we determine the Neilsen families live? Arkansas? Let's go drag them and their tvs out of their caves and force them to watch CI.

"Law & Order." The longest-running primetime drama on television will come back for a 19th season, sources say, with new co-star Anthony Anderson. USA Network's "L&O: Criminal Intent," which is recycled on NBC, looks likely to return.

There's another article that says LOCI is "on the bubble". It's listed under NBC shows in that article.

This is a very complicated question, I am confused about who really owns criminal intent. I know dick wolf originated the three shows and nbc put them on their network, but beginning on season seven the show was removed to the usa network( or it would have been cancelled) to be first run,and repeats to air on nbc.Now the show is on the bubble with the possibility of not being renewed by nbc.If nbc owns the usa network, wouldn't that mean that the show would leave the usa schedule as well as the nbc one?Can the usa network afford to run the show independent of nbc? It must be very expensive to air a one hour drama, can usa afford it, and do they have shows of their own that they run independently? If anyone can clarify this I would appreciate it.My hope is that this will resolve itself by having the show renewed by nbc.

I do worry about our CI. It is a very expensive show to make. I know it does great in syndication and reruns, but USA is coming up with many new original shows that are way less cheaper to make.
Also, just saw that Monk and Psych are coming to NBC. Leaving less room for CI.

I think the Networks (especially the majors) are having a problem filling time slots for Summer and Next Fall. During the Writers Strike they cancelled the development contracts for most "New Series" for the Season starting in Fall, 2008; and, now they have few options to fill the spots left by shows that were cancelled in April-May, 2007. They know the public isn't going to produce ratings for as much reality programming as they have had during the last few months, so recent re-runs of well-established programs such as LOCI are their best option.
Since NBC Universal owns USA (and Bravo); they are allowing those cable networks to produce air the original episodes of LOCI, Monk, and Psych (where they have established a fan-base and high ratings); then, NBC repeats the episodes, filling some prime time slots with programming that will get higher advertising revenue because of its cable ratings, than the Reality Programs they would have to use if they didn't "borrow" from their cable affiliates.

Thankyou for the information, it is all very confusing at the moment mainly because of the strike. I was also wondering if anyone knows when nbc will air the final 12 episodes,I undrestand that nbc will be airing the olympics in August, so that wouldn't leave room on the schedule for C.I. if usa is starting them on June 8th.Maybe as Warren Leight said (I think it was him) they will treat the final 12 as a mimi season on it's own and that could mean nbc would air them after the olympics in sept.,just a thought, anyone have any ideas of their own about this? I really want to see them, hopefully this year.I will keep a good thought for the show's return until nbc makes up it's mind and posts their season 8 schedule.(But it;s very nerve racking not knowing for sure)

I never saw the other two, but Firefly was one of the best shows... well, ever. Sigh, how I wish it hadn't been canceled. It has a huge following... just goes to show that the way a network promotes a show (and when it is on) can either do wonders, or kill it. For example, I don't know, NBC and CI?

Thanks for this info. Then of course there's the possibility of a actor's strike in June if the Screen Actor's Guild doesn't get their act together... But let's not even think of that right now.

Oh, and I'm a huge Firefly fan as well. Serenity rocked!

Speaking of DVD's, I have to watch one for class now.

I didn't take this as being a negative. It's too soon to confirm a season 8, as USA still has 12 season 7 episodes to produce & air. Many of the shows that have been given a green flag for next season have finished this season already. Of course, good ratings this summer will sure help.
Logically, even if CI costs more to produce & the profits aren't there initially, the reruns generate revenue for years & years. So in the long run, it pays to keep the show going.
I'm staying optimistic!!

Well now what? First I was worried that nbc would not put the show on their schedule for fall and now usa is not sure it will be on their schedule for next year. What the **** is going on over there, I thought this was all resolved yesterday with the new arrangement and now everyone is up in the air again. And still no word on when nbc will air the rest of season seven, although it looks like they plan to resolve the Goren crises from Untethered, is it just me or could that mean a general cleanup of the problems before they dump the show? I wish these people would get together and make up their minds, put the show on usa first with repeats on nbc, everyone wins and nobody loses. That was the original plan, and they should stick to it. There rant over, I feel better. But I still want to go there and shake some sense into them!!!!!!!!
