Say goodbye to the days of “slutty” WWE Divas, at least for now.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has adopted a new policy to present its female performers in a classier light.
While the Divas’ sex appeal will not be completely downplayed, the company will present women in a more professional light. An image consultant was hired to advise the women on how to “look classy and not come across as slutty on television,” the Observer said.
In addition to hiring new stylists, WWE provided the women with less revealing outfits.
The new policy is likely part of a plan to appeal to mainstream advertisers.

What's the use of eye candy if your not showing it? Is they were gonna cover em up, at least bring in some divas that can actually wrestle to do this with.

I agree, I mean Vince McMahon has gone too far w/having women dress trashy.
I hope that he got his act together, b/c if he doesn't then he'll start losing a bunch of REAL talented women in the WWE.

I believe that a wwe diva has to be good looking but also has to know how to wrestle! It cannot only be one or the other!
This is actually a bad thing for the WWE in it's current state.
Here's why.
If you're not going to market the trashy whore angle, you now have to have GOOD women wrestlers. Other than Victoria, who's average, what do they have?
Some women are gonna have to drastically improve, or a whole new roster of women are gonna have to be brought in.

As much as i hate trashy diva's this does hurt the wwe. Its not going to help them because they don't have trish or lita. they have one diva with real talent.

oh yeah,money...well kids these days watch this...and seeing the 'slutty' image of girls in my opinion is not right. But I guess sex, crime it's all in tv these days....kids can't get pass what they watch on tv. They'll wanna commit crime and teenage girls will wanna dress 'slutty'. Now I think the getting rid of the ho bag image is good and bad...
GOOD:
Families will watch, kids will want parents to buy ppv/merchindise etc...= WWE $$$
BAD:
Will lose some male viewers *MAYBE*....I'm not sure if that's all a male viewer watches for...I myself being female.
IMO as I have said before they should get rid of the women's division

Wel you know something:
Whenever I watch reruns, I would watch CLASSIC TV SHOWS on DVD and also on TV Land, Boomerang, GSN, USA and even TNT and WGN.
Also, I cannot STAND Friends, Will & Grace, and even those NEW comedies on NBC, The New CW has BETTER comedies than NBC, plus TBS has gotten boring these days especially Saved by the Bell, that's why I only watch sometimes NewsRadio and The Steve Harvey Show on TBS, and also Lifetime is better as well.
Plus, I hope that these wannabe Divas should show more dignity and NOT their bodies, @ least Torrie Wilson wears those flares and not dress trashy unlike Candice sometimes. LOL
@ least TNA is showing more dignity when it comes to the women and their matches along w/the Indy Show Scenes are MUCH better than the WWE these days, b.c the WWE has turned into Saturday Night Live w/all of their DC Pranks and the Microphone Garbage.

I'm talking about TV Shows w/o all that raunchyness.
Also, I'm talking about the women in TNA shows more dignity when it comes to their Ring Attire and NOT dress TRASHY!
Also, I'm stil upset @ the WWE for making Lita wear those TRASY clothes.
It's EMBARASSING!
Oh okay.
And plus, it's gotten worse (or better depending on how you look at it. I think it's worse), in recent years after the F.C.C. crackdown, from the Janet Jackson incident at the Super Bowl a few years ago.
Really to see ANYTHING risque, you've gotta go to FX or HBO.

Spike TV gets raunchy at late night. But FX is probably the worst out of all the cable channels. Its more HBO then USA. But i'm tired of people always blaming tv, movies, and music when some kitty bitch who can't handle life goes nuts. Like when Judas Priest got blamed for when some kid shot himself because he heard "do it" in one of their songs. Take responsibility for your life. If a kids fracked up its generally the parenting or the fact that he has a mental illness or some stuff like that.
And TNAlockdown you watch lifetime?

ok I agree with you that people have a right to ban shows from a child's eyes, that it is their diescision what they watch and what not. That they shouldn't blame the things they see or hear because they have the right to control what they see or hear the things they do...Do I think it is right that tv shows nowadays talk about sex, violence, and crime? No tv has changed as the years go by...but people have the rights and what not to listen to the radio, watch tv shows and all that. I agree with you on that.

sorry man.. but.. no guy should EVER say that lifetime is a good channel to watch, lmao..
anyhow to the topic at hand.. i guess this explains why melina and mickie stopped wearing skirts since WM? well thats kinda too bad then, i guess i now have no reason to ever watch a divas match.. im with you wwegirl, can it.. and bring in a new division already!
is anybody else tired of the pussification of america? its like every thing has to be censored and catered to kids.. when the only group actually complaining are right wing religious groups...

Don't say that its JUST religious groups. As i recalled its left wing nuts saying that we can profile people in airports and subways. So i don't get why we would stop old granny elders their but let a young arabic man walk right by. Not to sound racist but that fits the profile and i think we should be stopping them before an old lady. America is being destroyed by political correctness.
But thats a different issue that i don't think we should get into on a wrestling board.

I don't sway either way, and usually give the Demorcrats hell, but the Republicans are the ones behind both the F.C.C. crackdown & profiling. That's just the way it is, and is one of the big things I don't agree with them on.
Does anyone remember back in the day, when USA had "Up All Night" with Rhonda Sheer & Gilbert Gottfried, and they'd show edited softcore porn films at like 3am in the morning, lol?
As for people that don't like what's on TV. It's simple...

Hi Bubba here, looks like this plan is nixed.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter QUOTE
Remember the new WWE Diva policy that we reported on last week? It appears as if the plans to institute the new doctrine have already been scrapped. While the company wanted to present the divas in a classier manner to gain more mainstream sponsorship, Kevin Dunn barked at Vince McMahon that the plan would never work and would destroy the upcoming Diva Search competition. Since the Diva Search is considered McMahon’s baby amongst his love for the divas, it appears as if we are not going to see the taming of the divas.

But see TNA, McMahon is locked in now. He's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.
They've built the idea of the Diva's over the last 10 years, and now it's considered such the norm, that to get rid of the Diva's, or make them classier, would be like pulling 2-3 cards out of a house of cards... it'll eventually fall.
The Diva's need to be kept. The problem is... OUTSIDE of the ring. Seperate the Diva's from the women wrestlers or do away with the women's division altogether, fire about half of the Diva roster, then kept the rest on, like Maria, Kristal, Melina, and Torrie for eye candy, do interviews, and be managers.
They'll never get completely rid of the Diva's. Their status is too solid within the company now.
