Full Version: Wwe Raw Rating Drops Again

Hey guys, listen to this:

This past Monday night’s edition of RAW did a 3.6 cable rating, slightly down from last week’s number and continuing WWE’s worrying post-WrestleMania 23 ratings slump.

Well it seems that WWE is NOT getting any better, well all I can say is that I'm not surprised.

Ratings reflect what you air. (I hope that made sense.) I'm not surprised.

I agree w/what you said Bubba_Bridges, I mean the WWE NEEDS to start getting their acts together, and QUIT all this nonsense.

I mean look @ TNA, ROH, and NWA Shockwave, they show WRESTLING and NOT SOAP OPERA ENTERTAINMENT.

Also, I think that the WWE should PULL ECW off the air for good, b/c ECW is dead, but the spirit of ECW still lives in Hardcore Homecoming.
babaganoosh
It's obviously expected to drop. No way should Raw do better the further it gets from WM. Normally you have all your build to WM, then Backlash is kinda just to settle any unfinished business, then this period now is the transition between some old feuds to new, so of course nobody watches now without any good feuds built up yet.
tnalockdownfan
Well here's something:

This Monday Night, RAW will once again go head to head w/USA's Parent Network NBC when RAW goes head to head against Deal or No Deal.

Also, the reason why ECW is doing POOR is b/c of 2 things:

1. Vince McMahon as the ECW World Heavyweight Champion

2. ECW will NEVER TOPPLE Law & Order: SVU & alot of people would rather watch Elliot Stabler, Olivia Benson, Captain Don Cragen, and the gang rather than see The Extreme Expose and The New Breed.

and I'd rather watch L&O: SVU rather than see that All New Awful Chain Reacion on GSN and Dylan Lane show 'nuff needs a personality especially Vince McMahon.

Do you all agree w/me on that?
babaganoosh
Deal or no Deal sucks balls. It's just random guessing of suitcasses and requires no knowledge whatsoever, so it heavily favours Americans biggrin.gif

I absolutely agree with you. I watched ECW a little over the past few weeks just because there weren't any new SVUs on. Now that it's back, I will be watching SVU until the end of the season.

Its not because of SVU. Thats irrelevent. For one thing you have ufc on and you have the sheild and NBA playoffs. But the number one reason is because ECW sucks.

Axl's steps to a revived WWE...

1) Scrap ALL current stories. Everything. Get the eraser out.

2) With Undertaker's injury, Cena needs to loose the WWE title to HBK. Cena then needs to be shipped to SD, and start a feud with Batista for the WHC.

3) Cancel ECW. Just go head and put two slugs in it. It's dead.

4) Then split the rosters up from ECW. Send guys like Lashley, Dreamer, CM Punk, and Kevin Thorne to SD. Send RVD, Sabu, Sandman, Marcus Con Von, and Elijah Burke to RAW.

5) Drop Vince McMahon, temporarily. Have him have an embarrassing match against Bobby Lashley or something, and just get him out of the picture for the next year or so.

6) Replace Vince with Shane McMahon full-time over at RAW.

7) Throw any kind of enormous money you have to, to get the legends back in the picture. Right now you're dying, and you 'up and comers', even the best, don't have 'future HOF' on them. None of them. Get anybody back at any cost. This means more 3-5 Austin storylines and possible matches, Hogan (yep, that's right) 6-12 storyline & matches a year, and more actual in-ring stuff for guys like "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes. Mick Foley should be brought back FULL TIME, if a deal can be reached.

8) Throw any money you can at getting Kevin Nash away from TNA. Then bring him back to the WWE for an nWo reunion with Hogan, Nash, & Scott Hall. Not necessarily in-ring, but i'm getting to that.

9) Then start what everyone has wanted to see for years... DX vs. nWo. DX would consist of HHH, HBK, a returning X-Pac, and a returning New Age Outlaws w/ managers Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon (yep that's right), Ric Flair, Stephanie McMahon, and the nWo would then become "Hollywood" Hogan, Booker T, Randy Orton, Edge, and Batista w/ managers Eric Bischoff, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Sharmell. This would then transcend into a RAW vs. SD war. DX on RAW, nWo on SD. Which would then transcend into a 'revived' old school WWF RAW vs. WCW Nitro war.

10) After that's finished, start a Austin vs. Hogan feud leading up to the greatest match in history... Austin vs. Hogan - IRONMAN match at WM24. Give them whatever money they want.

11) Have Lashley, Dreamer, Finlay, a SD-acquired Carlito, MVP, and CM Punk all become contenders for the U.S. title.

12) Hogan, Cena, Batista, Booker T, Orton & Edge all become contenders for the WHC title.

13) Mix it up for the Cruiserweight title, but keep the mainstays Rey Mysterio & Chavo Guerrero.

13) X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Marcus Cor Von, and Shad become contenders for the IC title.

14) Women's title vacated, and shelved. Half of the Diva's laid off.

15) Hardcore title revived, in order to add another title to RAW, and to keep somewhat of the ECW/Hardcore spirit alive on one of the brands.

16) RVD, Sabu, Sandman, Marcus Cor Von, and a newly reacquired Mick Foley become Hardcore title contenders. When "Hardcore" Bob Holly returns from injury, he'll become a RAW wrestler, and be added to the mix.

17) HHH, HBK, Austin (depending on how much he signs up for, and is willing to do), Shelton Benjamin, Elijah Burke (yep, that's right), and a RAW-acquired Mr. Kennedy become contenders for the WWE title.

18) Khali & Umaga fired.

------------------------------

All of this is possible, give or take a few. I didn't say anything foolish like 'bring back HITMAN!' Some things just aren't going to happen. Now with Austin, I don't know the specifics on what keeps him out of the ring. It was never really told, nor has it ever been revealed how much of it was legit or kayfabe. I always assumed it was partially true, but also partially overexaggerated, because Austin had publicly grown tired of his storylines by 2002, and wanted to pursue an acting career.
tnalockdownfan
Well here's something the WWE NEEDS to do:

Give these REAL talented wrestlers and REAL talented divas something they did back in the ATTITUDE Era:

Give them more CREATIVE FREEDOM!

I mean hey, it worked w/Stone Cold, The Rock, and Chyna, why not let it work w/the others including BENOIT, VICTORIA, etc.

Also they need to give some of these people more airtime on the MIC, and also, on RAW they need to quit all this this talking that they do, I mean the 1st 20 minutes, they talk during the beginning of the show, and I'm like, where's all the action?

and that's what I also think they need to do as well.

Not a good idea. Not only is Austin not medically cleared to wrestle again with his neck problem, but Hogan and many others are old and useless. Watching the Legends vs SS match was no good and bringing back more will be no better. If you want to build a good company, you must establish a future, not dwell in the success of the past.

I think you said you want him to just be a manager, so why use him? There's no reasont o throw a lot of money for someone who isn't going to wrestle. There are plenty of other nWo members back in the day and any one would do.

10) After that's finished, start a Austin vs. Hogan feud leading up to the greatest match in history... Austin vs. Hogan - IRONMAN match at WM24. Give them whatever money they want.

As I mentioned before, Austin isn't allowed to wrestle anymore and Hogan is too old to carry on an ironman match. They'd have to kitty it up and make it like a 15 minute ironman match if Hogan expects to participate, which is just a normal match.

QUOTE (Axl @ May 5 2007, 08:25 AM) *
18) Khali & Umaga fired.

Khali, no problem, fire the overgrown and useless freak. But why would you fire Umaga? He's one of your better and emerging big-men.

I'm sure there are better examples than Benoit and Victoria...but I agree they should have some creative freedom. I mean Eugene is just a joke and a waste of solid wrestling talent. But back to why not Benoit and Victoria, not good enough on the mic. If you want to let them write their lines, they have to be able to say them, and those 2 aren't all that on the stick.

Heres what i say
Get rid of the Hogan Austin idea. They are to old and have had to many injuries to preform. And why would Elijah Burke go after teh WWE Title before Carlito? Elijah Burke still hasn't held any titles so i say give the guy the ic title. i Wouldn't have scott hall back in the wwe. However Kevin Nash has done great stuff with the X division and would make RAW more interesting. I say fire khali get rid of teh Umaga idea or fire him to,. He wasnt even the good part of 3 minute warning.

The WWE currently has NO future. Edge, Orton, Cena & Batista are not going to take the WWE to the next level, and are not going into the future. Edge maybe, but Edge can't do it alone. Fans are tired of Cena like racing fans became tired of Jeff Gordon, Batista has no stamina beyond five minutes, and Orton is too plagued with problems to ever rely on to carry the company.

I'd rather see Hogan or Austin in-ring, than 3/4 of the match cards they are putting out now.

When I mentioned Roddy & Dusty, I was simply talking about getting them some storylines to put over the kids. Maybe the occaisional IC or U.S. title win, but really just more storylines with the kids, so they CAN be the future.

I don't know about you, but i'm dying to see a Dusty/Kennedy storyline. Old skool big mouth vs. new skool big mouth.

Roddy could do more storylines with the Highlanders, if they Highlanders ever get a push.

Elijah Burke is good in-ring, like Carlito, but Burke has better mic skills. Burke knows how to talk and pump an audience, as well as wrestles half-decent. Burke will definitely be apart of the future-plan for the WWE imo.

WWE is making more money at the moment than it has done in six years. Live attendance is up, DVD sales are up, merchandise is up. The ratings have been at the same level they have for three years, neither going up or down.

But what do I know, you guys are clearly the experts.

When I was a kid, I liked Hogan. Now the kids these days like Cena. Learn to deal.

The ratings are clearly dropping, and ticket sales will start to drop also. Most tickets are locked-in, because to get good seats, you have to order your tickets months ahead of time. Those ticket sales will continue to drop.

Remember, the only reason ECW has an audience is because it's a free post-show for SD attendees.
