Just thought I'd post this. I have recently read the galley copy of an upcoming novel, Unwritten. It reminds me of the feel of JAG. It also centers around a JAG attorney. If you want to check it out:

I think you can read the first fifty pages or so online. There is a link for the press on the Books portion for a sneak peek. I liked the novel. I miss JAG so much. It was like new air to breathe. I pre-ordered one also. It will be released in June.

Back to writing briefs for court tomorrow. Boring!

Thanks for the post mate. I have already pre-ordered one after reading a bit of the teaser. I can't wait to read the rest. I am just watching JAG here. My aerial has been on the wonk. I can't pick up programmes clearly. I'll have to get it fixed. Thanks for the book tip. Cheerio!

Hello. I know I'm new here, but I wanted to post something. I too, have read the first fifty pages of the novel that are online. The author seems to have captured the same spirit that was JAG. Her character David Reese makes me think of Harm. The book has me hooked so far. I look forward to finding out what happens to them- David Reese and Caroline Blaine.

For those of you who haven't read the teaser, here is a plot summary directly from the website:

Intelligence agent Caroline Blaine is a woman of many talents and even more secrets. Torn by her love of God, family, and a man she has no right to love but cannot forget, she is once again at his side to aide in a JAG investigation. Together they are to locate and recover stolen Navy property. They must travel the globe on a perilous mission, combining their strengths in order to stay alive.

I'll have to get my JAG fix through this new novel. And according to her website, there's going to be a sequel.

I agree, full on. I can just picture DJE's face for Reese. Different dynamic between the two characters, but still playful and JAG like.

Does anyone out there know the author? I'd like to know if she indeed visualized DJE's face for Reese.

It's funny you should say that about the DJE/Reese connection. I was thinking it while I was reading. I also noticed she had used a cool name for a ship- USS Franklin Pierce- for the bird farm (carrier). I like the name, but there is no ship under way with the name. I can tell she's either ex-Navy, or she sure has done her research. The novel is thorough and full of Navy lingo.

I also like that she used the Washington Navy Yard, where I am, as the JAG reference point. I like D.C.

UPDATE!

M.C. Henson's website lists the book as available June 2007. It will be shipped on June 29, 2007. Let's all support this author for a job well done and pre-order through her website, instead of Amazon.

She will answer email about the book. That's how I found out about the release date. She confided she was a huge JAG fan. That's what helped to inspire the book I think. She'll be recording an audio version late summer or early fall with ex-music editor of JAG, Bruce Frazier. Just thought you all would want to know.

I visited her website and found that she has added content recently. I think it will be great to have the book on CD with Bruce involved. I wonder just how she managed that one. Did he write original music for the series or just help score what was already written?? I like the fact that M.C. Henson has listed a jargon section for us people who don't know military speak. I think she put quite a bit of time into the soundtrack she put together. You can tell by listening to the music for each scene just what kind of mood/mind set she was in while writing. I now have the wallpaper for the book on my desktop.

Anyone had the brass, besides dear Ann, to write her yet and ask about the book after reading the teaser??
