the comment that STILL gets me all worked up in an angry rage to this day is after "Judges Selection" week... Zac sang "Something To Be Proud Of"... did an amazing job with it. I'm gonna tell you a little secret --- Zac's not the only one who was extremely disappointed when he found out what song they picked for him. It's so far from his usual style... and Randy said that if he was producing him, that's the kind of music he'd have him record. Dear GOD, please don't let Randy produce him, then!!
Anyway, as I said... Zac did amazing, but got picked on for his attitude. They couldn't pick on him for his performance, so they picked on his attitude, which, ironically, is what they kept hassling David over. Zac KNEW his 'artist identity' before even starting the show... and when they try to get him to do something that doesn't fit that identity, and he cringes... they crucify him for it???? Instead of giving him credit for staying true to himself... in which he actually WAS able to make the song his own, even though it's not something he would have picked for himself... instead, that's all they noticed --- he didn't like the song. Big whoop... get over it... He did amazing. Let's move on, already...
Aaaaaaaaaaanyway... as upsetting as all of that was/still is... what gets me heated even now to this day is when Anastasia said "I was thinking... that kind of attitude could ruin an artist's career. Then I remembered you don't have one"
EXCUSE ME?????????????????????????????????????????????
Oh, how extremely unprofessional was that?? I don't know if maybe she regrets saying that... but she's never given any incling that she felt bad for saying it... But it's not 'zactly like this was Zac's first 'talent show' or something. I know what she MEANT... but I don't care! That was soooooo far from being tactfully stated... If HE'D said something in the same tactless nature, he'd have been hung alive!!!!!
Oh man... I need to take a break. I can feel it welling up inside again... Grrrrrrrr!!!!!
