Ok, my day started out well... I got a phone call from Candy regarding our plans for later that night, and we 'finalized' some details... then I headed off for work. I intended to get there a little early (which I did) since I was going to be LEAVING early. I normally work until 5, and I was leaving at 2... I only went in a half-hour early, but I didn't take my hour lunch, either. Aaaaaaaaanyway, I told them I wanted to leave at 2, knowing full-well how things usually work and that I'd probably make it outta there by 2:30. I actually left just shortly after 2... maybe 2:10 or so.
I got home... showered and changed... grabbed everything I needed for the show, including tickets and my camera, along with enough cash to grab a CD, since I'd heard he would have some there.
My best friend and I got on the road right around 3:30. We made one pit stop and got to the Princess Theatre around 5:45. We pulled up and got a pretty good parking spot right in front of the theatre. As I was parking, I saw another vehicle pull up and park across the street from us and wondered if it was Holly. She should be getting there about the same time. It turns out it WAS her, so we all introduced ourselves and set ourselves on a mission to find a potty. We went to see if we could use the one inside the theatre, but we were told they couldn't let anyone in since they were still doing a sound check. We talked to Dave and T-Bird of KIX 96 for a couple of minutes, then walked up the street a little ways to a Mexican Restaurant to use their restroom. We would later eat dinner there, so it wasn't quite so bad that we didn't buy anything then... just used the little girls room.
While we were still in the bathroom, Candy called me (I didn't have to use the potty, so I was actually available to answer... yayyyy!). She had just gotten there, and she was parked around the back side of the theatre, near Zac's bus. She told us to pull around back and park near her, instead of where we were. We all piled into Holly's car, instead of taking both of them back there. I sent Candy a text message saying that we had just pulled up and were parked near her car. We'd wait for her to come out... It seemed like forever, and several pairs of feet going the wrong direction (we couldn't see people getting on/off the bus, but we could feet as they did... and a couple of times when we thought it might be her, they went INSIDE the theatre instead)
When we finally DID see the 'right pair of feet', they weren't alone. Candy had a friend with her... well, two really. The first one we saw was...
*pause for effect*
ZAC!! I had looked away from intently watching the bus when my roommate slapped my shoulder and said "LOOK! There he is! It's ZAC!" kinda screechy... especially for her (she doesn't get excited/giggly over stars like some do). Then we saw somebody else... and somebody else... get off the bus and come around the front. Then, they all started heading towards us. Yep. All of them... Zac, too!!
When they started heading towards us, the entire car started screeching along with Janis. Ok, it wasn't as bad as that sounds, but it was 'excitable', we'll say. Hehe... I told them to quiet down some, cuz the windows were down a crack and they'd hear us! *giggle*
Anyway, as they got closer, we decided we should get out of the car, starting with me taking the initiative by opening my door first. I have no shame. LOL! Anyway, we didn't walk very far... stayed near the car, really. We apparently decided to let them walk to us, instead. Hehehe... I don't think it was really all that much of a conscious decision... just happened that way.
We again introduced ourselves to everyone... even Zac introduced himself: "Hi. I'm Zac." As if we didn't know... *giggle* I did my usual goofy "I am Sam" in introducing myself... and I can't remember if I introduced my best friend, Janis, too... or if I let her introduce herself, but I think I did. He already knew who Candy and her friend, Dawn were... and he knew Holly, so it left Holly's friend, LeAnn (sp??) to finish off the introductions.
We got to talk with Zac for several minutes... I'm guessing between maybe 5 and 10 minutes, but I don't really know for sure because I kind of lost all sense of time. Hehe... Also, I'm ALWAYS cold, but despite the wind that was causing Zac to shiver, I wasn't cold a BIT! I actually offered to let him have my jacket, to which he said he WOULD. It was one of those short little bitty jackets, though... It probably wouldn't have gone halfway up his arm... so it was mostly just intended as a joke. If I had a jacket I thought MIGHT fit him, I would sooooo have given it to him, though. Poor guy!
The conversation we had... well, what happens at the Princess stays at the Princess. Hehe... but it was awesome!! Candy rocks!! She hooked us up! We were told that he was actually hoping to be able to eat with us, but that circumstances didn't allow for that, after all... BUT... if we hang around after the show instead, we can spend some time then. I replied, with my goofy, playfully-sheepish grin "Okaaaay... If you twist my ar---- owwww! owwww!" He laughed. Whewww!
As we left to go get food, we all got hugs. I got me a nice tight hug... not one of those put your arm halfway around him and smile kinda hugs... no, this was a nice hug. Arms around... little squeeze, kinda hug.
The Mexican Restaurant where we ate was an interesting experience in itself... and we were almost late to the concert because of it. But... we made it... and we didn't miss anything!
The 'pre-show' activities were so good... but how about the concert itself??
