It certaintly won't be a bad move. But why move Cole over to RAW, and then have to find a SD replacement?
Why not just find somebody new for RAW... that ISN'T Todd Grisham.

JR still has a lot of time left in his announcing career. I don't really see anyone who can replace him though.

Yeah but I think the Hall of Fame induction might've signaled the end.

I saw this coming. JR has stated in his blog thing that he probably wouldn't be coming back after the expiration date on his contract.

It shall be different without JR at first but if they find a good replacement than we won't be too upset of his absence for long.

If they use cole then it won't be that bad because he's a good play by play person.

Cole's good, but I don't see him leaving SD.
I just hope they don't use the HEAT team of Todd Grisham & Coach. Good god.
Coach is a great analyst when behind the mic, but he's said publicly he hates having to do it, he prefers having stories, and Grisham is terrible.
I just hope it isn't them.
I personally wouldn't mind a new play-by-play guy, and Stone Cold Steve Austin for analyst. If Austin would ever do it. I think he'd be great.
Another possibility could be Ric Flair becoming RAW's analyst by this time next year. He's retiring, and I think he'd be a great analyst. Dusty Rhodes too.

Jim Ross has posted his latest blog entry. Some highlights from this entry:
- Regarding "internet rumors" of Michael Cole replacing him (which was never reported on this site), Ross writes "I have no idea how this sort of information gets out there and then takes on a life of its own as if it is factual. I fully expect to continue my tenure with the WWE for years to come and no one in the decision making process has indicated anything to the contrary to me. Do you actually think these executives are speaking to the wrestling internet world? Me neither. These rumors upset Mrs J.R. and my family more than they do me. I still get excited about going to work every week on Monday Night Raw and I am still having fun. I would also like to think that my work doesn’t suck pond water. Perhaps I am wrong. Nonetheless when my run on Raw comes to an end, whenever that may be, I will look back on my WWE career with no regrets. I have had a blessed career and life in our wonderful business over the past four decades. There is plenty of fuel left in this tank, so don’t count me out just yet. I feel, for many reasons, that my best years in broadcasting are ahead of me and I feel really good about the future. Finally, I suggest that you don’t believe everything you read on the internet."

Wow he changes his mind alot. Now he's staying. Well guess we'll have to put up with him trying to put john cena over again.

Bischoff refered to stuff like JR's statement a lot in his book. I think he called them "dirt sheets" or something to that effect.
Sometimes the source was correct, with the news hitting the internet just hours after one of his meetings at Turner. Other times it was totally made up and he had no idea where it came from.
This sounds like one of those times.

It's obvious J.R. measures the fan reaction to stuff, because he basically has carte blanche on booking.
The WWE knows fans hate Cena.
The WWE also knows, mic skills > ring skills. Right now, no one has a good push ability with the mic skills, other than Cena, despite his Brock Lesnar-esque ring abilities. The only ones left is Edge & Orton. HBK is too old, so is HHH.
They need another younger guy with Edge & Orton, that both have mic skills & ring ability, and right now their choice is one or the other. You want mic skills, it's Cena. You want ring ability, it's Shelton Benjamin.

Shelton cna improve his mic skills so he can at least hold a crowd.

I feel that Shelton can improve on those mic skills if he GETS the chance! I mean least he has some good wrestling ability alike some others *Cena* I say just give Shelton time and he should be a good contender

Well they could start giving him a chance by giving him the tag titles with hass or the ic title.

No reason to mess ith success. Raw is the flagship brand right now and there's nothing wrong with the announcing team. I personally am not a fan of him, but from a business standpoint, it would just be stupid.

I still dont understand the concept of one being the flagship brand.. obviously its the same company, both sell out arenas every week and anymore, wrestlers are going on multiple shows a week. And quite frankly, RAW and SD both have equally great ratings, especially ocmpared to the other low ratings shows generally get on cable.. However I wish I could say the same about ECW anymore..

I completely agree...There isn't anyone that you can't replace him with...Know one has the experience and the knowledge about the WWE in general like Jim Ross does...By replacing him...you are degrading Raw...

Well just look at the concentration put into each show. So many specail events take place on raw normally, such as the draft lottery, Raw Roulette, most HOF announcements, the Rock's WM promo, etc. Also, SD is more of a pure wrestling show, whereas Raw is the entertainment side of wrestling and would rather incorporate shorter 10 minute matches to stick in more superstars.
