The Winner Is Angela Hacker
My thoughts on the album cover...
The album cover is very nice. Nothing fancy, just a great photo Angela stating that she is the winner of Nashville Star season five. I really like it.
The songs ...
"Love Me Wild"
Very nice opening song. Very acoustic. Good love song.
"Strawberry Wine"
Great song. She puts a very nice spin on it. Simply Angela.
"You Got Me"
Good song. Going to have to listen to that again.
"Do Right Woman Do Right Man"
A great love ballad from Angela. Lotta soul in this one. I like it.
"I Can't Make You Love Me"
This song has not been over done. Good acoustic version of the song. I hear Bonnie Raitt's version a lot on the smooth jazz stations and I think Angela's version is better than Bonnie's.
"Emotionless"
A great original from Anglea. Very powerful song along with a great title.
"Total Loss"
Good song about getting over someone.
"I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool"
Another great take on an oldie. Good song.
"When Will I Loved"
Powerful song.
"Hard To Handle"
This song is a duet with Angela's brother, Zac. This is a great tune with a lotta rock in it. I have to turn it up a bit more because I enjoyed it. Zac's guitar playing was great also.
To Sum Up ...
As mainly a smooth jazz format listener, I found this album to have a lotta soul, rock, country, among other things. Although my review may not be the best, they are my thoughts. I would suggest to anyone who doesn't have a copy of "The Winner Is ...", to pick up a copy soon, as this will one of many cds from this great artist.
